Because this bedtime story for kids is full of fun and fantastical surprises that only the cutest kitten can create as she takes you straight into dreamland. So to begin this fluffy tale of adventure right now, simply close your eyes and enjoy this lovely darkness behind your eyelids. And in this darkness, even though your eyes are so gently closed, you can still see. This is called your mind's eye, which is like a movie screen of your brilliant imagination. So with your mind's eye, can you create a picture of the cutest kitten in the whole world? What color is her fur? Is her coat long or short? How big or small is she? Perhaps she is so tiny she fits in the palm of your hand. Her eyes shine like gemstones. What color are her eyes? As you reach out and pat her coat, can you feel just how soft she is? What does her purr sound like? For to your surprise, as you listen to her gentle purring, she begins to speak to you in a calming little voice. And she tells you her special kitten name. You can hear her name so clearly in your mind. And your friendly kitten explains that she's here to help you fall fast asleep so you can play together in the wonderland of dreams. So to relax, she asks you to take three deep breaths in and out through your nose. So you breathe in, filling your belly with air, and then you let the air flow gently out. Beautiful. Do that two more times now. Your kitten says you're really good at this breathing and at this meditation. And now suddenly a golden light glows around both you and your kitten. This sparkling light is from the golden sun and feels so warm and safe and full of love. This soothing sunlight relaxes you from the top of your head across your face. Down over your shoulders, your arms, your chest, and now your belly, legs and feet relax too. Even your twinkly little toes feel so warm and happy here in this delightful sunshine. And you know in your heart that this lovely light is taking you both magically to the wonderful world of dreams. A heartwarming place where anything is truly possible. For all of a sudden, you and your kitten find yourselves in a beautiful field of flowers and soft green grass. These flowers all around you are the most glorious colors. As they shine in the sunlight, your kitten begins rolling around happily on this soft grassy bed of flowers, and so you do too. To your amazement, the flowers and grass spring back up after you roll over them, and they seem to sway happily in the gentle breeze. This freshest breeze blows through your hair, making you feel so free. And your kitten begins to play, playfully hiding from you in this field of flowers with a big cheeky smile. And so you race after her, just spotting her tail through this fluffy field, playing hide and seek as you laugh in excitement. A deep belly laugh, which warms your heart even more. Your kitten is surprisingly fast as you run and hide and tag each other with pure laughter and fun. And now you hear the sweet sound of birdsong, and you see some bluebirds flying through the sky into the nearby forest. For right next to this field is a woodland of wise old trees and deep green leaves. Together with your kitten friend, you decide to explore this forest, stepping into the leafy shade and following a winding path between the trees. And you notice that these proud old trees have friendly faces in their trunks. They give creased, crinkly smiles as you walk on by, and this makes you and your kitten smile back to the trees now too. The sound of birdsong fills this forest, and you are both so relaxed here in this safe and shady place, and also feeling so calm inside. These trees appear to be inviting you to climb them with their cheerful energy. And your kitten is off up a tree before you can think, and so you follow her, trying to keep up. Even though you are a great tree climber yourself, your little kitten is surprisingly quick, as she clings to the tree trunk with her claws, and then springs from branch to branch. The trees chuckle with merriment as you climb higher and higher into their safe and leafy branches. And now you find a bird's nest, and you are thrilled to discover that this is where the sweet, warbling birdsong is coming from. You admire this round nest of twigs and feathers, as it rests on a huge and sturdy branch. Baby bluebirds chirp and play together, as their mother and father laugh at their antics, and sing out happily to other bird families in the other trees nearby. And your kitten looks on adoringly at the nest, and so do you, such soft and sweet beautiful birds they are. And now your kitten springs back down the tree, and you climb back down too, to explore this enchanting forest some more. As you reach the soft woodland floor, together you walk onwards, past red-spotted mushrooms, fragrant wildflowers, and mossy tree roots. And deep in this enchanted place, you now hear the soothing sound, the soothing sound of running water. And to your delight, you arrive at a fresh babbling brook, a small stream of water flowing between the trees. This water is crystal clear, and flows with pure ease, as it bubbles and swirls along. And your kitten friend, ever playful, leaps over some stepping stones, poking out of the brook. What a fun idea, and so you begin stone hopping too. Hopping, skipping and jumping from stone to stone, through the shallow stream. And now you notice beautiful butterflies, and dazzling dragonflies, flitting lazily over the water. And your kitten tries to pounce on them gently, but they are too fast, as they swerve from her fluffy paws. You also try to catch these butterflies and dragonflies downstream, but they are always just ahead of you. And they join in the chasing fun, as they dart about gracefully, just out of reach. But you love admiring how magnificent their colours are. The dragonflies in radiant shades of blue and purple, and the butterflies so stunning in every colour of the rainbow. They seem so relaxed and dreamy, and you begin to feel even more dreamy too, in this wonderland. The orange sun is now beginning to set, casting beautiful light across the stream, as evening time will soon begin. You feel the gentle fluffy nuzzling of your kitten on your leg, as she tells you there is one last place she wishes to show you. She seems tired now, after all this adventuring, so you are curious about where she wishes to take you. So to complete this dreamtime adventure, together you stroll slowly along the path, weaving through the trees, until you arrive at a small and hidden clearing. This clearing is shaped like a circle, created by beautiful old trees, standing proudly around. Hiding this space in the middle, and in this circular space, is a soft grove of four leaf clovers. They are the most brilliant shade of green, and look like a fluffy rug of comfort. And you remember that four leaf clovers are the luckiest and rarest type of clovers there are. This hidden grove is amazing, and feels very enchanted, and you feel so very blessed to be here. Your kitten friend begins to purr contentedly, as she lies down and curls up on this lovely bed of four leaf clovers. And so you lie down next to her, on this coziest grove, and settle your body into your most comfortable position for sleep. As you gaze upwards, the sun has now fully set, and the stars are coming out to play, twinkling lovingly from above. And so does the moon, a glowing crescent moon, shaped like a happy silvery smile. And because the clovers surrounding you are so lucky, your kitten encourages you to make a special wish in your heart, and send it up to the stars to come true. And so you make this sacred wish right now, thinking of something very special, and remembering that your mind and heart are very powerful. And now you send your wish, in a little ball of light, up to the twinkling stars above, to very soon come true. And now you rest happily here, as all parts of you feel so beautifully, wonderfully relaxed. And you feel so safe, surrounded by the protective branches of the kind and wise old trees, in this hidden lucky place in dreamland. Your kitten now shares with you her positive affirmations, as you drift into your happiest dreams. She whispers them in her calm and soothing purring voice, and you repeat them in your mind and heart, feeling so grateful. And so, with your fun and fluffy dreamy kitten friend right here by your side, you fall deeply asleep here, and remain asleep all through the night, feeling so safe and loved with these positive affirmations here in dreamland.
