RHS Garden Wisley: The Cottage Garden | July 2026

"Beautifully chaotic, relaxed plantings soften the formal hard landscaping of this charming garden, designed by Penelope Hobhouse in the 1990s. She met the challenge of the sloping site by creating three level areas at different heights, linked with sloping paths to ensure easy access for all.
A cascading water feature adds sound, while the surrounding catmints, lavender and Syringa vulgaris (lilac) cultivars bring scent. Plants from similar habitats and with the same needs are grouped together.
