10 Biggest Excavators Ever Built

These are the biggest excavators ever built—machines so enormous they make houses, trucks, and even skyscrapers look small. From the legendary Hitachi EX5600-7, Komatsu PC8000-11, and Liebherr R 9800 to the record-breaking Caterpillar 6090 FS, Bagger 288, and the world's largest land vehicle, the Bagger 293, this countdown explores the most powerful earthmoving machines ever created.

Discover the incredible engineering behind these mining giants, including their massive bucket capacities, multi-thousand-horsepower engines, record-breaking weights, and the astonishing amount of material they can move every single day. Whether they're loading ultra-class haul trucks or carving through entire hillsides, these excavators represent the absolute peak of heavy machinery.

Featured machines include the Hitachi EX5600-7, Caterpillar 6060, Komatsu PC7000-11, Hitachi EX8000-7, Komatsu PC8000-11, Liebherr R 9800, Bucyrus RH400, Caterpillar 6090 FS, Bagger 288, and the legendary Bagger 293.
