Dr. Mehmet Oz’s CMS is defending a Medicaid rule that says a terminal diagnosis, cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s, or another serious condition may still require more paperwork before someone is exempt from work requirements. Twenty-five states and D.C. are suing, warning that the rule could bury sick patients, doctors, nurses, and caseworkers in documentation while millions risk losing coverage for failing to navigate the process.
