AI GeneratedThe Jack Ingram Memorial at Hickory Motor Speedway was a high-intensity race defined by aggressive rivalry and dramatic collisions. After a fierce battle between Landon Shane Huffman and Parker Eaton ended in a crash, Michael Bumgarner and Ryan Millington fought a tight, side-by-side battle in the closing laps, with Bumgarner ultimately securing the victory.
All eyes will be on flagman Scott Herman atop the Gardner group flag stand as they get ready
to cut them loose here.
Race fans, get on your feet and give them a sendoff here at Hickory Motor Speedway one
more time tonight.
It's 111 laps for the Jack Ingram Memorial here at Hickory.
Nice clean start here to get our race underway.
Landon Shane Huffman looking to make some hay early.
Not able to clear.
Coming out of turn number two.
Got a car slow on the backstretch, Cale.
Yeah, the number 13 way off the pace back there.
That is Cody Kelly having a lot of trouble.
He's actually going to come to a stop in turn three.
And that is going to bring our first Carolina cat caution here with just one lap in the
books.
Everybody having to woe him down here.
Yeah, I'm glad they got that caution light illuminated in time because the front of the
field was bearing down on him.
Pace car is going to make that hard left turn.
We're going to go back racing here, Cale.
Landon Huffman.
Parker Eaton in your front row once again.
Landon Lewis in tow here in row number two, along with the human toothpick, Brian Thrillington
Millington in P4.
Look at the other cars coming back through here.
Almost got three wide right here on lap number one, the 18 machine of Alex Meggs trying to
come to the party.
Yeah, Alex Meggs was thinking real hard about making it three wide that time by.
Thought better of it.
Going to be a little bit patient.
Long race here, but definitely looking to make strides towards the front of this field.
Parker Eaton, Landon Shane Huffman back on the front row inside the Jeff Kincaid restart
zone.
Good, good restart for Landon Shane Huffman this time, looking to try to clear that Eaton
car as they work their way out of turn number two, going to be able to do it, pull up the
racetrack.
Eaton under siege from, is that Ryan Millington, Cale?
Yeah, Ryan Millington, two former track champions, piled up right behind him in the P3 spot,
jockeying for that position as they come out of turn number two.
Ryan Millington and the 75 of Landon Huffman as they come through turns three and four.
Still door handle to door handle, piled up right behind Parker Eaton.
Yeah, got a lot of good race cars up front here, Cale, in the early going of this Jack
Ingram memorial race.
Landon Shane Huffman showing away right now.
Ryan Millington trying to keep that position under Landon Huffman, unable to do it.
I believe Huffman's going to clear him this time as they come by the flag stand.
Jeff Huffman going to put the Ryan Millington right behind him here.
Going to be four, four cars break away up front, but look at who's coming to the party
here, Matt.
The Rick Ware Racing Super.com Chevrolet, that is the reigning defending track champion
Michael Bumgarner.
Oh, gosh, there's a trouble in turn two.
The 18 gets into the side of the 29.
That's Landon Lewis and Alex Meggs, pandemonium here with 104 laps to go.
Get a replay of it here on Flow Racing.
As you can see them barreling down the front straightaway into the corner and just not
enough real estate cars checking up.
Landon Shane, Parker Eaton on the front row.
Another good restart for Landon Shane Huffman.
Going to stick about a half a car length out in front of Eaton, but Eaton's going to hang
tough this time as they work back towards turn number three and four.
Parker Eaton doing what he needs to do, trying to get, oh, everybody checking up Landon Huffman
off the pace.
Not real sure what happened to Landon Huffman there, I can't fathom.
Comes Landon Shane Huffman fighting back right behind him, just a half a car length to look.
He looks down on the inside, he will draw up alongside, try to make that run work and
stick down in the turn one.
Using that Ford horsepower, nobody else on the property has Ford horsepower under the
hood like Landon Shane Huffman.
Back side by side with Michael Bumgarner as they come through three and four, Huffman
looking to take the lead back from Bumgarner.
Huffman not to be denied here tonight.
He tries to get a win here tonight with lap 65 going on the board still.
Pretty even matched race up here.
Parker Eaton just kind of taking it all in behind him, hoping that maybe they'll take
each other out.
He can just drive along there into the sunset.
Not a bad strategy, Gale.
Nobody's been scared to mix it up a little bit.
Eaton and Huffman side by side down the back stretch back to turn number three.
Landon Shane Huffman has run a great race tonight.
A little bit of contact coming out of turn four.
The car works for wear as they roll back down into the western end of the speedway.
Parker Eaton still trying to make that high line work with Michael Bumgarner in the catbird
seat along with the 15 of Ryan Millington.
Thomas Bean looked underneath Millington last time by.
Couldn't quite get a fender up alongside, but all kinds of racing action all the way
back through the field.
Still side by side for the top spot.
Last time Eaton was leading at the stripe.
Eaton almost a half a car length lead.
Here comes Landon Shane battling back.
More contact at a turn four.
Huffman not wanting to concede that lead that he's held almost all night long, Gale, as
they work back towards turn number three.
Back in the turn number three, still tight racing quarters.
Both cars leaning on it.
Eight tires better than four.
Coming now to 22 to go.
Huffman still unable to get past Eaton.
Door handle to door handle coming back down towards turn number three and turn number
four.
Huffman looking for some drive off of four.
Forward horsepower.
Trying to make it happen.
Can't do it.
And on the inside, looks like Parker Eaton, he gets a run off of turn number two, but
still Landon Shane holding tough on the inside.
Still side by side racing action.
Classic Ford versus Chevrolet at the stripe.
Guys doing a good job staying off of one another, racing side by side, door handle to door handle
as they come back through three and four.
Landon Shane Huffman maybe inched along out front, but unable to get the drive off of
four to make a run towards one and two.
One of those race tracks, 12 degrees of banking on one end, 14 degrees on the other.
Parker Eaton almost clears him.
Here comes Landon Shane battling back, really throws the elbow in there into turns three
and four, and he may lead this lap as they're still side by side, but here comes Eaton on
the high side.
By far and away, the hardest I've seen Landon Shane Huffman drive that car into turn number
three last time by, unable to make a pass.
Eaton holding tough on the outside as they work this way back through three and four
again.
Parker Eaton wants that Jack Ingram trophy just as bad as the Galaxy 84 driver of Landon
Shane Huffman who does lead that lap.
Still side by side.
Eaton a little bit loose at a turn two.
He falls back.
He's going to try the crossover on him in turn three.
Little bit of bumper to the back of Landon Shane Huffman that time.
Parker Eaton alongside contact all the way down the front stretch.
We'll see if Landon Shane Huffman can drive on the outside.
That's right.
Landon Shane Huffman.
He falls back to second place.
Going to have to try to battle back here.
Lap 95 on the board, getting ready to be 15 laps to go as he tries to get that Ford back
up there.
I'm sure Parker Eaton knows that he used a little bit of bumper.
Parker Eaton slides up the racetrack, allows Huffman underneath him at a turn two, Huffman
back to the point.
Huffman got the preferred line.
Eaton's going to have to fall behind.
Gives him the bumper again.
Landon Shane Huffman.
The gloves are off, man.
The paint window is open.
These guys want it bad.
You got to know that if Landon Shane Huffman gets behind Parker Eaton, he is not going
to forget those two shots to the rear bumper.
Right there it is.
Landon Shane Huffman gives it back to Eaton as they come off of turn four, working their
way back to one and two.
What a battle for the lead right here in front of Bumgarner.
Bumgarner in the catbird seat watching it all happen.
Eaton sideways.
Landon Shane still has the lead going into turn three.
Here comes Eaton.
He gets him sideways.
Turns him.
Oh!
And a modem right in front of the field.
Holy cow!
Landon Shane Huffman hard into the tires at the entrance of pit road.
Landon Shane Huffman is okay.
He's coming out of the car.
Doesn't look real happy about the way things happened.
Parker Eaton trying to get his car turned back in the right direction.
Michael Bumgarner up to the first place.
And Landon Shane Huffman dejected.
He can tell he's done it.
He's done for the night.
Oh, and it looks like we've got fisticuffs again, Matt.
It looks like they're getting ready to get into it in the pit road.
Looks like our, uh, Catawba County's finest getting on to it here and getting into the
mix.
Keeping things civil.
A lot of action here on short track Saturday night in Hickory Motor Speedway.
You see Papa getting upset there.
Shane Huffman.
He just got inducted into the hall of fame here at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Getting in there and having some words with the owner of Hickory Motor Speedway.
of the number four machine.
Lots of people crowding around down here.
Hard fight for the win.
And cooler heads look like they may prevail down here as, uh, things getting dicey.
You can see the driver, uh, Landon Shane coming into the mix.
He's really upset about, feels like he got dumped over there in turn three.
Yeah, it was some physical racing.
That's for sure.
bad as Landon Shane Huffman did and, you know, he, he put the bumper to him at least three
or four times there and, uh, short track racing, it stinks cause tore up good race cars, but,
uh,
Well, it stings if you're the competitor, but I'm not going to lie to you as a fan.
I am just up here beside myself.
It was exciting.
That is, that is no doubt about it.
Um, if you don't like that, this is what, this is the reason you pay for the flow subscriptions
to see good stuff like this.
Well, you know, Parker Eatman made that, uh, the pass on Michael Bumgarner.
We kind of wrote, uh, I don't want to say wrote Michael Bumgarner off, but, uh, after
what happened up front between, uh, Landon Shane and, and, uh, Parker Eatman.
Don't look now, but Michael Bumgarner is leaving this race scale with just a few laps remaining.
Get ready to come inside.
The Jeff Kincaid restart zone.
I think Millington may have spun the tire there.
It looked like a fishtail just a little bit when they got back to the loud pedal.
Michael Bumgarner trying to clear Millington as they come off turn two, not going to be
able to do it.
Millington holding serve side by side racing through three and four Cody Kelly made move
on Thomas Bean.
Uh, who would have thought that 13 car would be riding around in third place right now?
Really lose.
Thomas Bean had a little bit of issue on the start of that race and looks like Ron Millington
to the lead for the moment, the 51 going to have to sit back there and P2 and he's going
to go to the inside.
He's going to see if he can get on the inside of Millington, runs him up the racetrack just
a little bit at perhaps, and it's going to be a drag race to see who gets in turn three
first.
Bumgarner, a little bit of advantage as they worked off of turn four, Millington is going
to get a good run off that high side.
Bumgarner unable to make a pass happen side by side.
Cody Kelly right there in the mix.
Kale.
What do you think about that?
13 Cody Kelly could possibly be the one in the catbird seat.
It ain't over yet.
10 laps to go to settle it here tonight as Cody Kelly and P3 trying to figure out Michael
Bumgarner or Ryan Millington in front of him.
Well, about eight laps left here.
Kale Bumgarner up the racetrack just a little bit.
Him and Millington close, but no touching, I don't believe, as they come off of turn
four, working their way back through one and two.
Millington going to be scored the leader at last time by still side by side.
And again, if you're Cody Kelly, which one are you going to try to go behind, man?
It's just so maybe you'll just make it three wide and look at it.
You can't blame him.
I want to win that trophy, too, man.
That thing is beautiful.
So you know, the laps are winding down.
Somebody's going to have to do something.
Here comes Cody Kelly.
Cody Kelly trying to press the issue here with the laps winding down, coming to six
to go.
Race fans.
Bumgarner and Cheney still unable to get an advantage side by side door handle to door
handle.
Bumgarner trying to get a run off a turn number two, unable to really make it an advantage
work.
Oh, landed.
Shane is at issues.
Apparently the car is off.
So that's going to cause issues.
But there's still door to door for the lead, man.
And that's some some tight racing right there.
Cheney's still unable to make anything happen on that outside groove.
Bumgarner starting to put a little bit of advantage together, but still side by side
as they come by the starter flag to side by side, it looks like Michael Bumgarner may
have the edge here at the moment coming to four laps to go now coming to three laps to
go here to start finish line.
It's anybody's game still here.
Bumgarner got about half of that number 51 machine in front of the 15 machine, but you're
back to door handle to door handle down the backstretch down the back straightaway into
turns three and four.
Bumgarner maybe using him up a little bit there coming to two to go, two to go at the
flag stand.
The 15 going to try to cross him.
Cheney underneath him.
He makes it underneath.
Back up aside.
Bumgarner.
Can Bumgarner pinch him down and get an advantage and roll the top of that racetrack?
Millington trying to make the bottom work as they roll into turns one and two, the super
dot coms calling the inside down the back straightaway.
It's anybody's game coming in the turn three.
Who's wants it more between you boys?
Which one?
Millington drives it in deep, unable to make it alongside Michael Bumgarner for the win.
Millington second Cody Kelly with an amazing third place finish.
