The Room Behind Tutankhamun's Wall That Egypt Refuses to Open
On November 5th, 2015, infrared cameras revealed a temperature anomaly on the north wall of Tutankhamun's tomb — the exact size and shape of a sealed doorway. What followed was a decade-long battle between a deposed minister, a Japanese radar engineer, an Italian physicist, and the most powerful archaeologist in Egypt. The wall has never been opened.
This documentary follows the investigation from the 2015 infrared thermography scan through Hirokatsu Watanabe's ground-penetrating radar results, Francesco Porcelli's devastating counter-verdict from the Politecnico di Torino, the Eldamaty-Hawass political clash, and the unexplained 2020 corridor anomaly — all the way to 2026, where the wall still stands untouched.
