Houston Police footage of deadly July chase

Assistant Chief Yasir Bashir of the Houston Police Department provided a briefing regarding a death in custody following a high-speed pursuit on July 1, 2026. After a stolen vehicle crashed, a pursuit on foot ensued, and a collision involving a police officer resulted in the death of an individual identified as Mr. Abujawe. Two other suspects were apprehended and hospitalized.
