The Colonial Silversmith (1971)

This Colonial Williamsburg film, which premiered in 1971, depicts the process of melting down scrap silver to make a silver coffeepot and mug. The film features master silversmith Bill deMatteo, who worked for Colonial Williamsburg for 26 years.

Produced by Arthur L. Smith, the head of the Foundation’s audiovisual department, "The Colonial Silversmith” was one of dozens of educational films produced for use in schools, museums, libraries, and television broadcasts.
