This time, I traveled from Shanghai to Zhouzhuang, known as "China's No. 1 Water Town."I was initially looking forward to seeing a more authentic Jiangnan water town landscape, but after walking around, I found it somewhat different from my expectations.
While the ancient town still possesses the beauty of its small bridges and flowing water, the level of commercialization, the number of tourists, and the overall atmosphere made me feel it didn't live up to its reputation. In this video, I'll take you through Zhouzhuang's main attractions, streets, and waterways, and share some first-hand perspectives, hoping to provide you with a more realistic reference point before your trip.
If you've ever been to Zhouzhuang or are interested in Jiangnan water towns, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
