MSG Adam Lessard hails from Athens, Georgia, and joined The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in 2007. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, studying with Dr. David Randolph and David Zerkel; continued his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, with Steven Mead, and completed his Master’s degree at the University of North Texas under Dr. Brian Bowman.

Lessard won both the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) High School Brass Competition and the Falcone International Tuba Euphonium Student Competition in 1998. He went on to earn 2nd place in the 2003 MTNA College Brass Competition and the 2006 Falcone Artist Competition, and was a finalist in the 2006 International Tuba Euphonium Conference Artist Competition.

In addition to his work with “Pershing’s Own,” Lessard has performed with the Kennedy Center Ballet and the National Symphony Orchestra.
