It's 6 30 a.m. We're down here in Miami. We've been up since 4 a.m.
We're getting a jump start on the day. We're heading out to Flagler Memorial
Island to clean up a bunch of plastic and trash.
Oh yeah, here we go. Ice bags, to-go boxes, Cheetos.
What are we finding? Trash bags, bottles, glass bottles,
bottle caps, cigarette butt, straws, straws!
This monument was built in 1939. It's dedicated to Henry Flagler who was
considered one of the pioneers of Miami. Juice packets, pineapple juice,
styrofoam, people use plastic. Apparently people like to drink beer on
this island. This seems to be the brew of choice.
Another one. Buried back in the back, El Presidente
from Holland. Don't have to look very far to find lots of trash. One little grab
right there. As you lift up all these leaves and rocks
you start to see underneath the surface that
it's not just on top of the sand but underneath it as well.
See, this plastic is pretty much everywhere. Just try to
avoid it at all costs if you can. It's hard to do. Lots of Easter eggs.
Dental floss, straws. We've got mail. More plastic wrappers.
Keeps on going. Anything else down here in the sand? Nice little baby wipe.
Crime scene. That's truly sad. Some more undies, man. In case you're looking for
your grill set, here's half of it at least.
No trash left behind. Straight for the super sack today.
Efficiency. Not really sure what this is. Some type of plastic.
They just left the whole thing. Including the rice.
Sometimes you gotta move some of the rocks just to get to the trash. A little
bit of hard work. A little bit of poor ocean muscle.
Nothing can stop us. Look at all that. All that life growing on that plastic.
Bottle caps. Some kids school line. Bam! Plastic in the water.
Okay, another one of my favorite things to get.
It's a baby. Got it all? That's it for the cleanup at Flagler Memorial Island here
in Miami. Make sure and like this video and
