Changing beach lights to save turtles

In Tampa Bay, specifically Treasure Island, the implementation of amber-colored street lighting is helping baby sea turtles reach the Gulf. Standard white lights often disorient hatchlings, leading them away from the ocean toward dangerous urban areas. Through a partnership between Duke Energy and conservation groups, thousands of lights have been converted to protect these turtles.
