'HOTD' star James Norton talks how Gwayne Affects Ormund

There's kind of a rivalry for Darren's affections between Gwaine and Ormond, how they both have different ideas of what Darren should aspire to be. How does Ormond see Gwaine and his role in the whole family picture? In a way, you don't really get to see Ormond's true authentic self until you see him interacting with Gwaine, I think. Well, actually, both of them, in a way. I think that, in a way, Gwaine is the one who brings out the most authentic versions of both of them. You know, he's Darren's uncle. There is a truth and authenticity to that conversation, that relationship, where you see how disingenuous and how much of a sort of performance Darren is putting on with Ormond. But similarly with Ormond, their history is, you know, Freddie and I, the reason I laughed is because Freddie and I are old friends, and we had a lot of fun. And it was important as well as fun, but it was also fun, imagining Ormond and Gwaine as kids and what went on, what went down. And I think, like, a lot went down. I don't know, we nodded to sort of a very complicated history. I don't know how to just, we nodded to it in a in their respective relationships with Darren. But equally, Gwaine's relationship with Ormond is in itself a very complex, rich place to delve. It allowed me a way into my history.
