This time, we headed to Kamikochi, nestled deep in the Northern Japan Alps of Nagano Prefecture.
A mountain resort surrounded by the Hotaka Range, with peaks over 3,000 meters.

Starting from Taisho Pond, we followed the Azusa River — passing Tashiro Pond and the Weston Monument on our way to Kappa Bridge.
In the afternoon, we savored grilled iwana (mountain trout) at Kamonji Hut, then took a slow walk to Myojin Pond!
That night, we stayed at a Kamikochi hotel for the very first time, gazing at the Hotaka mountains from our window🌙

The next morning, we visited the peaceful Dakesawa Wetland, wrapped in a quiet stillness.
Even though I've been here many times, I've come to love Kamikochi even more as an adult!
Staying overnight revealed a whole new side of this beloved place🌿✨
