Captivating The King | Episode 16 Ending Explained | Cho Jung Seok | Shin Se Kyung (ENG SUB)

What a bittersweet feeling, as Captivating the King officially ended today. Most of us will surely miss this cast on our screens. Fans' fears about a sad ending were put to rest, as He Su and the King found their happily ever after. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome. What's more, Hyun Bo met his well-deserved end. He had no atom of remorse in him after all he'd done in the past. I was so glad to see Young Jae Pyo dragged back to Qing to be punished. He sold his people for money and status. Myung Ga's character grew throughout the series. He's paramount to He Su and the King having their happily ever after. He Su had thought to keep her distance from the King, thinking that nothing good would come out of it. Myung Ha played a matchmaker by informing the King about her itinerary. We didn't get to see He Su's father again, as he remained back in Beijing as the King's spy. With this ending, it means that the King will remain King until his death, and then have the Crown Prince inherit the throne. As he promised to spend the rest of his days with He Su, this means that she'll become Queen. Knowing the late King's last words, and the King's mind, He Su will have no trouble having the throne go to the Crown Prince rather than their potential future children. In all, this was a good ending, as the King refined his court, and had Boon Young return to Joseon after Prince Rui's demise. The King spending time with He Su before her departure was heartwarming. He got to see her in her true form, dole up and pretty. My mind is convinced that they spent the night together, this day. Their story is a beautiful one, from love to hate, to love again. I already miss them. What are your thoughts about the ending? On a scale of 1 to 10, how much will you being captivated by this drama? Let us know in the comment section below.
