MSC World America - Day 7 | Ocean Cay! | Water Slides! | LAST DAY!

Seriously, you could look at this. Buy a magnet. Andrew's got this. They're waiting for us. Oh, it comes so high! Welcome to day 7. The last day. We are in Ocean Cay. Can't see it on this side. Look at those waters. Wow. Light blues. Very nice. Time for a little breakfast. Alright, our last day aboard our breakfast buffet here. Fried eggs, blueberry muffin. Looks pretty good. Andrew's is in the works. I need to get coffee. I'm halfway through. Can we talk about this view? Holy cow. Ocean Cay. We've been there one other time. So this spot right over here, that's probably where we'll be the remainder of... Yeah, I think we'll get in that water right there. No problem. But I do see this big lagoon here. This is the one... Whoops. This is the one that had the little floaty things in the middle that we had to swim out to. So that was kind of cool. And then around here is a nice little bar area. So, yeah. We enjoyed this last time. And we were overnight stay. We got to stay overnight here. So we got to see the lighthouse over there all lit up with the laser show at night. But it's very, very cool. Look at this view off the cruise. This is crazy. These little steps get me every time. Oh, yeah. Those are steps. We are on... Deck? No. We're on shore. We're in shore. On shore. On shore. He's unsure. We're in shore. We once had this view at night which was fabulous. I will probably have to try to put that in what this looks like at night. Let's see. Let's see. All the kiddies are running. But here we go. Ocean Cave. It is MSC's marine reserve in the Bahamas. It's just a tiny, tiny little island. But private stop for MSC. We really enjoyed it. Two years ago, we had our overnight stay here. Fantastic. Your drink package works ashore. I believe the Wi-Fi works ashore. I'll have to check the Wi-Fi. Look at that. Not sure where people are going. It's kind of one of those ports, you know, when everything's free, just take a break and take a little relax. A little relax. But here we are, day seven. And usually day seven's the last days of a cruise. You're on a sea day. But here, it is so close to Miami. Just like a stone's throw. You could do this on the last day. That's all I got to say about that. That's all we got to say about that. It's a nice sunny day. We ain't got a cloud in the sky. We were seeing from our seat at breakfast that they had all the sea-dos for rental. And it would look, I bet it would look awesome to just go around the island in a sea-do. And then also very interesting is the houses they have here for MSC, the apartments. MSC staff. And it seems like they're building even more to the left from what we could see from the balcony of breakfast. Yeah, we got to get the story there because normally a private stop cruise ship will just use the staff on board to come staff everything on the island while they're in port. But this place has their own people who live here. So we got to look up the story on that. I wonder if it's part of MSC, but they do shifts or contracts to where they stay. That could be a possibility. I even guess maybe they could send people that are new to MSC here for 60-day training and they could live here and then just get picked up by the ship that they're working on right here. I mean, that's possible too. If you know the story of these apartment units, let us know. We are very curious. You don't see this on any other private stops. Generally, like I said, they just use the cruise ship staff. Alright, let's see what we could do. We got a shop over here. Marquee. Here's one of their shops. There you go. Oh, I like that. But... What about that? But it's curved out of wood, though. This is Flamingo's. Hello. Oh, that's really cool. Look at that. Alright, we may need to back in on the way out. Look at the flock. There's a whole flock. And it's got a little sand. And actually, do you know that when you see a whole bunch of flamingos together, they're not a flock, they're a flamboyant. That's awesome. So this bar has fantastic breeze. The breeze here is like amazing, right? Here's their selections. I do really like how their water, bottled water, is in aluminum. I really like that. That's the way they should all be, honestly. None of that plastic. We don't need to drink plastic. All about the aluminum. Aluminum. Alright, so here's the houses we were talking about. The apartments. I mean, there's a lot of units here, too. They just kind of go on and on. This door's open. We could ask, Hey, you work here? To the right here, Seekers. We did eat our lunch here. Our last stop. It's to the left. Lunch buffet. And then they have many little lagoons to swim at. Look at this one. This looks lovely. Seekers Cove. Maybe we don't need to. Maybe we try them all. Here's another area you could swim. And it's got the floating platforms right there. We did swim out to one of those on our last visit. Bit of a workout. And there's no ladder, so you kind of just have to hoist yourself up. But once you do the swim out there, yeah, you're kind of wiped out. But look how cool this is. Yeah, it's very lovely. I like how clear all the water is. I am one that I like to see what's in the water with me. And these little lagoon areas, they give you that ability. Alright, and Amber and I have been on many sand volleyball leagues, so we're thinking about just subbing in. The last time we actually did any sand volleyball was probably several years ago in Mexico. So in addition to the buffet, they have several food trucks here. Oh, lobster roll, $12.99. A cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken tenders, fries, fruit salad, cookies, brownies. Man, lobster roll? Lobster roll. Oh, got a bird friend. Oh, we got a bunch of birds. Oh, jeez. Okay, okay. Alright, so many places look great to swim. I think we're going to pick this for our first spot. And then over by the lighthouse. But we did not swim here our first trip, so alright, we got a green flag. Nice calm water. Yeah, this looks perfect. Perfect. The breeze is actually cool, so I'm afraid this may be cool. Let's see. Hey, friend. Alright, it's cool. Yeah, it's chilly. We'll see what we can do here. Oh, yeah, it's cold. Alright, there are little rocks down here, little rocks. Let me try over this way. Alright, we're slowly trying to get into this water. It is a little chilly. So we'll definitely try the water over by the cruise ship. So that should be much better, I think. Wow, so look at this, everyone. We have walked all the way from there and it has not gotten any deeper. Look at this, and we're right to the rope here. And look at all the colors, the different blues. Pretty amazing. Yeah, we walked all the way down there. And it never gets, you see everyone standing, it never gets really deep. Yeah, this is cool. Now to try to get in. It is cold. I'm slowly getting used to it. I'm covered in goosebumps. Well, you might be better off to be under the water. No, because as soon as I get out, the wind is going to wind me and then I'm going to freeze. It's going to wind you. Alright, but yeah, this is a cool lagoon. Very, very shallow, the whole thing. The wind is whipping, though. Alright, enough of this one, let's head to the next. Where we can see the ship. And the lighthouse. Alright, very cool. Wow, right next to the bar here, you can get ice cream and lattes, cappuccinos. It's cool. Geez. Alright, we may have to get that at the end. Smiling Fish Ice Cream Bar. I don't remember being here the last time. But I'm ready for something tropical. Alright, we're at this awesome bar. He just made us a rum punch and a child rum punch. And then we got our two waters. Alright, let's give these little guys a cheers. Punchy. With a view, though. Look at this. And a breeze. So if we do want a coffee, though, yeah, in relation to this spot, it's right there. Alright, the cool thing, if you have the internet package on board, it works here. No problem at all. Just posted a reel. Look at the color of that water. We're going to swim over here. And the nice thing about this beach, of course, you get a great view of the ship and the lighthouse. This is like the big reveal here of the lighthouse as well. This is crazy. Wow. And one ship at a time here. So it's never going to be really packed. So they have that part, right? Man, oh man. I do have another bar right here. And then two food trucks. It looks like the same menu. I see lobster roll. Jerk chicken. Jerk fish. Okay, this one's different. It's all about the seafood. Nice. There's the lighthouse. We've seen the light show on here. It's fantastic. But again, look at this beach. Holy cow. Alright, we're getting in the water. Nothing to see here. Please keep moving. Nothing to see. Please. Wow. Oh wow. We're getting in. Her feet are buried in sand. Oh man, oh man. Alright. It is really a good stop to end your vacation on. And we're here until 7. So that's crazy. Nice, crystal clear water. And it's cold. We gotta get used to it all over again. Oh, crystal clear. There are some rocks. Yep, there's rocks. It took us a little while to find this little outside area on the ship. So we wish there was a full lap lane. Otherwise, a decent ship. We still need to do all the ropes courses up there though. It's got a very aerodynamic shape to her. Look at that. And I want to say we did go up the stairs on that lighthouse last time. Andrea made it. I stubbed my toe. Yeah, you just gotta go like super slow. Yep, there's rocks every so often. Not like all the time. Until you're out here and then here is fine. This is all fine. We're here. Oh, I should have warned you. Look away. Too late. We are sending Andy out further because it is really cold for me. So I'm just gonna hang back here. Admire the ship from here. And then Oh, my head's blocking it. And then we got the lighthouse back here. That lighthouses are my favorite. But yeah, he's still not that far. It is really chill. Well, if you looked around, not a ton There's not a ton of people under. It's chill. Now it is the end of April. So, maybe June, July, August. So much better. Oh, mid-April. It's tax day yesterday. Oh, get your taxes done everybody. Alright, launch until 2.30. Looks like we have an express plane here. We'll go for it. Oh, salads, entrees. And fries, yes. Thank you. Alright, burger, hot dogs. Thank you. Uh, no. Thank you. Alright, a lot of good food here. I'll try a little potato salad. They have macaroni salad, bean salad. Marinated three beans. Oh, tomato and watermelon. That's what I want, and now I don't have room. Alright, this is what I really wanted the most, actually. Alright, that'll work. Rolls, butter, salt, pepper. Got ketchup. Ketchup's ready to roll. Ketchup for the burger. I think I'm set. Then over here they have lots of fruit and dessert. Cookies, cakes, a lot of good looking fruit here. Definitely will want watermelon or maybe more watermelon later. Whole fruit there. A lot of watermelon down there. Alright, let's find a spot. Alright, this is a really big plate. I'm quite sure I cannot eat all this. I may have chose poorly here and there. Alright, they have bar service right there. We'll send one of us up for like a soft drink. Alright, lunch was okay. For me, I said the star was the watermelon with the mint and the tomato. Hers was the plantains. But, the dessert is good. This is a rum cake. That's quite good. The pineapple looked tasty and soft. Grapes look good. Desserts, not bad. Cookie good? Oh, alright. Yeah, the rum cake. She's speechless. Yeah, this little rum cake is good. Brownie. But, not bad. I like it. Chocolatey. Alright, desserts are good. Look at our view. Look at the colors of the water right there. Yeah, that's a great view. The birds are having a field day. Alright, we've been on the little island a few hours. We are thinking on just heading back on board ship so that we can maybe try water slides without hardly anyone aboard. In the pools. And, we're also thinking maybe a little ropes course. We'll see how we feel about that. Because once we get back on board we've been in the sun for a little bit, so I don't know that might be a little too strenuous, but we'll definitely check out the pool, water slides. Yeah, ropes course you would need closed toe shoes, so definitely would need to go back to the cabin for that. But, the water slides were good. Yeah, it's a good private stop and they did it right with the drinks and with the Wi-Fi. Oh, do you get a dry towel here? Oh, yeah. Well, let's do it. Oh, okay. Alright, here's what we're working with. So, I think the yellow is tube slide and then the two blue are racers. That's kind of cool. Yeah. They come out same time and then they got the little time above it. And, of course, we got the nice view out here. But, Andrea thought, while everyone's off ship, we'll check these out. So, I think we need the yellow. Yeah. Looks like it's way up there. Alright, we're at the top of the slide you get a heck of a view. The racers look cool. Alright, there's the drop slide. And then, oh, VR slide. Okay, you wear VR goggles. Yeah. Alright. Alright, we did it. We may as well do the body slide. It was cold but it was good. It was cold. Okay. There. Alright, that was kind of fast but we did it. It wasn't that fast. It was just cold. We're gonna try the two racers. Let's go. Alright. Alright. We're gonna race. Oh, wait. Speed. I totally sucked water. Whose car? Alright, so those two are done. It was fast. The racing one, I pulled maybe too quickly. I cocked the GoPro against the side. You'll see that. And then, at the very end, I forgot to hold my nose so I sucked all that water I was choking. I went really slow. You might hear me say I'm going so slow but I even pulled but you have to like sit on like this little seat thingy so it's kind of hard to pull yourself. I don't know. Well, we did the yellow and the two racers. We're not gonna do the drop slide so with that, let's head for the serenity adult area pool. Birds eye view. Apologize for not the greatest sound. We don't have the mics. This is the waterproof setup. Yeah, look at that. We're gonna show you where we're heading. It's pool time for the first time on board. And it might mostly be to ourselves. Yeah, this is adults only area. Not bad. Not bad. Look at the water Yeah, look at this. And they're building more I don't know what they're building but look. Yeah, the water color here have you ever seen better water color? I thought it was Cozumel but it's really here. This has a bee. Look how light blue that is. Wow. Alright, this is just amazing so we're better to go to the pool and check out this whole view from the pool. Alright, let's go. Let's do it. Alright, Andrea is in. She has made it in the water. It was easier to get into this pool than it was in Ocean Cave. Not by much but it was easier. First time in the ship pool. Feels lovely. Still got all the grease on. Yeah, it's perfect for me. All that we're missing in the adult area so they have two pools. Netsy and a hot tub. But this is plenty deep. I'm on tiptoes here. Oh, it says 5.9. No wonder. So it's definitely a decent pool. You could get some laps going if you wanted. Alright. Still, a good way to spend our last ship day. Alright, we found another pool. This is the botanical pool. So, it's pretty much covered. It's got like the inside pool feel. It's got hot tubs. But the whole roof looks like it does. It can close all the way. It's just retracted now. But, yeah. Yeah, and it's half shade here. So, half shaded. Trying not to show anybody. Yeah, not bad. Alright, so we tried two of the three two of the three big pools. So, alright. Done. Check. This hot tub is like giant and you get a view. And it's like in an atrium. So... Last night aboard. It is about 5pm hour. Almost time to get dressed for dinner. But this is where you'll find us. The coffee shop. This is it here. I have a hot salted pineapple and Andy has his go-to of cafe latte. Or just latte. Yeah, it's really good. Foamy, creamy. Whipped creamy. So, I will miss these. I gotta say. Well, we do have a coffee maker at home that we can maybe bring back to London. Hopefully. And then Andy gives us enough thumbs up's for Andy to fix our coffee maker. Yep. Definitely some cool vibes here at Ocean Quay. But, time for time for that we call the alchemy bar. The elixir! But yeah, more construction here. Not sure what they're building. The construction update. A lot of cranes. Alright. To the elixir bar. Lovely. Lovely, lovely. We are back to elixir. Elixir. We're back here. Last night on the cruise. I do have a Manhattan. It's called Manhattan Night. So, it's bourbon, maple syrup, cinnamon syrup, Tabasco, ginger beer. And a lovely Martell. Yep. And you have a little pepper and cinnamon. Oh yeah. I believe. A little heat maybe. We have been enjoying these. We usually finish the whole thing. It's a good little mix. So, we're not turning that down. Alright. So, cheers. Last night aboard. Boop. I heard something in my lungs. Alright. It does have a little kick. It's got some spice to it. Yes. I actually like that. I was worried about the ginger beer topper. I'm not totally wild on ginger beer. But, it also has a little heat too. Like a little cayenne or what did they say? Yeah. Tabasco. A little Tabasco. So, I do actually like it. It all works. I've had a bite. They're good. French chicken dish. Again. Yes. It was good the first night. So, I went back to it for the last night. Alright. But, look at this crazy dish. Amazing. Lamb. Lamb. Is it a slow like slow roasted or slow braised lamb? Slow braised. But, that was good. It's tender. It looks crazy. It's tender. Listen. You're not feeling that. Alright.
