So good morning! I woke up in my lovely accommodation. I slept so well in this cute
little cabin and this morning I lay in bed with a coffee and I watched the red squirrels playing
around in the trees and it's been wonderful. But yeah, it's day three. This is the fit.
Everything's charged. I'm rushing now because I've got to go catch a bus
to the start point of today's hike.
Hi.
Thank you. Oh, sorry, sorry. I missed my jacket. I'm sorry. Thank you.
Hey. That's okay. A cafe latte with milk.
Okay, I've now had breakfast. I've got my coffee and then I found pistachio cannolis.
I've never had a cannoli before and I'm in Italy so I'm trying it.
Oh my god. Sorry.
So good. That's incredible.
This is amazing. Yeah. It's a pistachio cannoli.
Yeah, yeah. Deborah, I've finished.
First we go up here, right? And then we go down to our hut.
Seriously?
Surely not, no. We'll be up there. Surely not.
Okay, I'll get us a map.
No. That way.
Yeah, it's here, right?
Yeah, I know.
You're not going up there. That's huge. Thank god.
Okay, see you later.
I'll see you up there. Bye.
This little handle. This is so cute. Why am I impressed by the smallest thing?
So this is me. Cinque Torre. This is where I'm staying tonight.
I'm so grateful for the cloud today. It's so much cooler. A cloud and a breeze.
Almost at the refugio and it's midday so I'm going to have some lunch.
So this is the refugio that I'm having lunch at.
My accommodation for the night is a couple of kilometres more that way.
But up here is the extra summit that I'm going to head up today
before carrying on to my refugio for the night because look how cool
the views are going to be from up there.
Okay, I just snagged this table as I got free with this gorgeous view.
Cute little mountain date.
Hi, can I please get the gnocchi with ragu?
And a rosé wine please.
So I had a lovely little lunch at that refugio.
There's a race going on like an ultramarathon or something today so
there's loads of people around with race bibs and loads of supporters and stuff.
So I had a nice lunch. Cheeky rosé.
I'm now heading up to refugio Novo, Novo, Noval?
Refugio Nuvalau which is the one and a half kilometres extra up here
which has like amazing 360 degree views.
So yeah, so cool, so cool here.
So this is Cinque Torre, pretty famous.
And this I think is my refuge for the night.
So cute.
Refugio Nuvalau.
2,575 metres, highest point of this whole trek I think.
Yay.
Thank you.
Yeah, you do.
Well, that was an epic view.
That was really cool up there.
I spent a bit of time up there.
I didn't get a drink or any snacks or anything because I just had one not long ago.
But I met this lovely couple up there
and they offered to take some pictures and videos for me.
But they kept zooming in on the video
and I hate when people do that because you lose the quality.
So I don't know if I've got any good pictures
and I was too polite to ask them to do it again without zooming.
So we'll see.
Hopefully I've got a good picture.
Oh, I'm gonna get a photo over there.
I'm gonna stop here for a snack and a toilet break
and then my refugio is like half an hour down there.
And it looks like the heavens might open sometime soon.
It's got really cloudy so I'm glad that I'm not far.
But I want a snack.
So we're gonna go find one.
Hi, can I...
Do you do Limoncello Spritz?
Yeah.
Limoncello Spritz?
Yeah, can I get one of those and a tiramisu please?
Thank you.
So I left the refugio and I'm on the way to my refugio for the evening.
But this has just been the nicest day.
Like the refugio is just down there so I'm nearly there.
I've been out for seven hours.
I've only been five and a half miles because I've just been chilling.
I've had so much time today and I've just been chilling at all the mountain refuges
and sitting and taking in the views and I've loved it.
I've honestly loved today.
It's just been amazing.
I can see my mountain hut just there.
So I've literally got like 10 minutes or something to hike down
and then dinner with the group.
But yeah, awesome, awesome day.
I've literally loved it.
Hi.
Oh my gosh, it's so nice.
Let's do the boomerang.
Morning.
Well good morning on day four of the Dolomiti trail.
I just left the refugio, slept very well, got beautiful weather again.
I can't believe how lucky I've been with this weather.
This is absolutely amazing.
And today I'm hiking seven miles down into Cortina d'Ampezzo
which is like a famous town here in the Dolomites.
The Olympics was hosted here.
And then from the town I get a shuttle back to the hotel that I first started at.
Today isn't the last last day because I am hiking tomorrow
but it kind of feels like the last day of this trail
because then we get a shuttle back to the hotel
and tomorrow is an optional add-on hike of Tre Cimi
which is again really famous, very well-known hike in the Dolomites.
So of course I'm doing that.
So I am hiking tomorrow
but this kind of feels like the last day of the trail
because getting back to the hotel that I started at
and I left like an extra bag of clothes there
and I have a proper shower and a proper bed.
So we're excited for that.
Off we go.
Day four.
This is so pretty.
One and a half hours in and just over three miles.
So doing pretty good for time.
Honestly there's probably not going to be too much to show you today for the vlog.
I think it's just going to be mostly like woodland trail.
And as nice as it is once you've seen one you've seen it all.
So today might be a little bit short
but I mean I'll show you anything exciting
and tomorrow will be pretty epic as well.
So we'll see.
I could be surprised, who knows.
That looks so nice.
That is gorgeous.
I really wanted to swim but I'm a little wary of like stagnant water
and even though it's got some fresh water running in over on that side
it's got like a bit of a film on the top of it
and I don't know.
It does look stunning.
But yeah it's all really sandy and clayey and I don't know.
I'm just super super wary when I'm by myself with where I swim.
So I've just been walking downhill for like 10 minutes
and then realised I am off course.
So now I've got to walk back uphill.
At least I realise now I guess.
So I've made it to Cortina Ampeso
but there's a race going on and it's super busy
so I'm not going to film anything.
I'll update later.
I'm finished.
So made it back to this lovely hotel.
Hotel Miralago on Lake Miserina.
Finished today.
Done 45 miles I think in total
and have the final hike tomorrow to Tre Cimi from here.
So I'll do a proper update when I have more life in me
but I'm so tired.
I feel so happy to have finished like the main part of the trek.
I want to shower.
I want to wash my hair.
I want to take a nap
and then I'm meeting the group for dinner tonight to celebrate finishing
and I got a badge.
Let me show you my badge.
My badge is cool.
I got a badge that says Dolomite Trail
which is super cute.
So tomorrow's hike is optional
so it's up to Tre Cimi
which is like a famous spot in the Dolomites
but if anyone does this hike and you're like kind of finished now
and you don't want to do it tomorrow
you don't have to.
Like the trail is done.
So that's pretty cool and it's been amazing.
I've absolutely loved it but yeah.
I'm gonna shower, nap and wash my clothes
and I will do more of an update when I'm more alive.
