What makes someone an artist is actually very simple—they make art.

I used to feel a gap before I could call myself an artist, but over time I realised I just needed to paint more. Now, after just one year of self-taught painting, I’m getting ready for my first art exhibition.

In this video, I’m working on four original oil paintings as I prepare for a group art show. I share the process from developing the concept and submitting a proposal, to preparing for the exhibition and opening night. I also talk about selling original artwork, making art prints, and creating products as part of an art business.

The creative process asks us to move beyond what we already know. As artists, we’re constantly navigating things that hold us back from starting, and learning how to make it easier to act on ideas instead of overthinking them. When we do, the work naturally begins to grow.
