Despite the rush to beat the rain and darkness, he successfully navigates his RV into space 40. Accompanied by his dog, Penelope, he admires the fragrant pine forests and the stunning lake views, planning to go kayaking the following day.
All right, it is check-in time and I am looking for the Bay Loop at Howland Lake.
Howland Lake is a special place. Oh, and there's a deer, doe, a deer, a female deer.
Oh, there's a bunch of them. So this is also grizzly country. And you know, this place
was referred to or told to me by a client of mine that lived in Missoula.
And it's one of these places that most people passing through Montana would not think to look
for. And I came here once. Actually, if you've been watching my videos for a while, you might
remember this is where I lost my drone. And it was in the woods across the lake from where we're
going to camp. And, oh boy, that was an experience. But anyway, right now I'm just trying to beat
the rain. I'm trying to beat the rain and I'm trying to beat the dark. So we are in
space number C like Charlie 40. So let's see if we can't find, find our space. There's the
campground host. Boy, do they got a setup. Let's see here. Okay, so we're going to be
off to the, we're going to be off to the right. So I'm going to get out and check,
check in with the host real quick. Okay, so here's the host site. And there's nobody. Oh,
look at that. That's not a good sign. Oh, goodness. So here's the there's the campground
host and it doesn't look like they are set up for business. But boy, folks, this is in
just Google it. Google Howland Lake. And it's in the Lolo, I think Lolo National Forest.
And it's a beautiful, beautiful lake. So we'll go and see if I can't find our space and
get all checked in. All right, I think it was Skip Smith from the villages. Good old Skip that
doesn't talk to me anymore. Good old Skip Smith told me, you know, that you don't want to pull
into a campground after dark. And I think we just we're just cutting it off. Oh, there's a
whole group of people over there. Look at that. s'mores. Are you making s'mores? Okay, so there's
a whole whole campfire group of people over there. Let's see the last time I asked somebody
if they were making s'mores. They invited me in. Space number 33. Oh, boy, this looks good.
Oh, I see an outdoors RV. Okay, let's see here. Where am I going? Okay, this is space number 35.
Tight corner right through here. Oh, boy, I hope I'm going to be able to navigate this whole
this whole thing. This is space number 36. Come on. Space number 40. I should be playing the song
Anticipation from Carly Simon right now. You know? Oh, my camper it's tight. I'm looking in
the rear view mirror. Look at this. Oh, goodness gracious. Oh, okay, I think we're getting close.
I hope nobody's in my spot. That wouldn't be good. There's a spot here. I thought that is
everybody's friendly. Is this my spot right here? I don't know. Let's see. What is this?
Okay, let's see here. Okay, overnight parking fee. Oh, I think I'm coming up. What is this?
Oh, that's not it. Okay, is this space number? This is space number 38. Okay, so 38. That's 39
on the right. I think 40. I think this is my space right here. Look at that. Oh, and I can back in
nice and easy. Oh, space number 40. Space number 40. I'm just gonna back in.
All right, so look at this. This is beautiful. Oh, oh, I wish I could. I wish I could take the smell
and just send it through YouTube. You know, like a like a scratch and sniff or something. Folks,
this is beautiful. You should smell it. Oh, the smell here, the fragrance. It's just
overwhelming pine. It's absolutely incredible. Now I gotta see it. I gotta see a Penelope.
She likes it. Let's see. Oh, Penelope. No, no, no. Come here. Come here. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. You
like it? Oh, yeah. She's checking it out. Or maybe she's just gotta pee. I think she's gotta
pee. It was a long car ride. What are you doing? Come here. Come on. Yeah, let's go.
Look at this spot. Oh, it's beautiful. It's just absolutely beautiful. Watch for the bears. Okay,
your bear bait. All right. What are you looking for? I think she's looking for a good place to go.
That's what she's looking for. She's. Okay, I think you. Oh, no. Yeah, that's what. Okay,
I'll give her her privacy. Oh, she's gonna go eat grass. That's what she likes to do.
What are you doing? Huh? Penelope? Are you looking for bears? She's just sniffing everything.
Yeah, he's gotta sniff everything. What are you doing? Penelope? Hey, come here. Penelope, come.
Hey. Oh, goodness gracious. She's all over it. What are you doing? All right. So I'm gonna get,
I'm gonna get all set up. Oh, this is beautiful. And it's open space. Perfect for Starlink.
All right, let's go. Okay, so while my camper is auto leveling, I'm gonna go and take a walk
and meet the neighbors and maybe see the lake before it gets before it gets dark.
Okay, so I'll just let the camper do its thing. And we'll go meet the neighbors. All right,
just up ahead from the campsite is the is the lake. Oh, boy, this is beautiful.
Just beautiful. Look at this. Wow. Isn't this something? Oh, yeah. Oh, this is gorgeous.
Just like I remember it. Exactly like I remember it. Look at this, Penelope. Oh, look at that.
Oh, yeah. Will you just look at that? It's beautiful. It's beautiful. It's just beautiful.
What do you think, Penelope? Huh? What do you think? Yeah. Yeah. You like that, don't you?
Oh, yeah. Penelope, huh? Oh, yeah. I'm gonna be kayaking tomorrow.
