This is absolutely massive for the future of the San Francisco Giants.
Two of the organization's top prospects have been promoted,
and we will be breaking down that news here on SF Giants Digest.
If you're new here, welcome to the channel. I am your host, Michael Montreal.

Now, before we get into today's video,
let me know down in the comments who your favorite prospect in the Giants organization
currently is. Obviously, there's finally a lot of names to choose from,
but let me know your favorite down in the comments below.
Now, before we get into today's video, this one is brought to you by PrizePix.

So thank you guys for checking out PrizePix and thank you to PrizePix for sponsoring today's
video. Now, obviously, we've been talking about the trade deadline for the majority of the past
few videos, a lot of those rumors about what could happen on the August 3rd deadline.
And then another thing we've been talking about is some of the promotions going on
in the farm system. Obviously, with how bad the Giants have been this season,
following the top prospects of the organization has been pretty exciting for the first time in
over a decade. You know, this farm system has seriously lacked upside,
true talent for a long time. But now the Giants have what I would say is comfortably a top 10
system in the entire league. And two of the guys making it one of the top systems in Major League
Baseball have recently been promoted. Now, breaking down those two names,
we are talking about Josuar Gonzalez and Luis Hernandez. Now, you can see the original tweet
down below from the Even Your Dynasty show. They said, Kyle Haynes just said after today's game in
the ACL, Josuar Gonzalez and Luis Hernandez are going to San Jose. And this is huge news. And
this is news that we've kind of been expecting for a few weeks now. Now, don't get me wrong,
these guys are extremely young. Luis Hernandez, just 17 years old, Josuar Gonzalez, 18 years old.
And I quote tweeted this saying the kids are moving up. Josuar has a top prospect in baseball
upside and Luis is going to be in low A at just 17 years old. Exciting stuff in the Giants system.
And this is stuff we've been waiting for a long time. We see the Dodgers, we see the Brewers,
we see a tons of teams in the National League that always seem to have top prospects that are,
you know, reaching low A, reaching high A at just 18 years old, year in and year out. And now it is
finally the San Francisco Giants turn. So we're going to break down each of these names kind of
one by one, starting with Josuar Gonzalez, who truly, truly has the upside of the top prospect
in Major League Baseball. Now he currently sits as the 15th ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline by a
lot of other counties in the 20s, the 30s. I think Keith Law actually of the Athletic has him in his
top 10, which is really exciting. But personally, I think he's in the 10 to 25, 30 range in the
majority of outlets. And that's probably where I would have him as well. He's showed some really
exciting stuff. Obviously we'll get into his numbers, but he's also dealt with a little bit
of injury that has kept him from truly jumping up prospect list to being, you know, consensus,
consensus, excuse me, top 10 guy in the league. But right now he still is showing some really
exciting things in the ACL. So far this season, a 343, 451, 515 slash line at just 18 years old,
122 plate appearances with two home runs, 24 RBIs and eight stolen bases, a WRC plus of 139
in the ACL. Now, the reason I think this is so exciting is because a name like Rainer Arias,
who was a Giants top prospect a few seasons ago, dominated the DSL the same way Josuar Gonzalez
did. And when he came over to the complex is where he really, really struggled. So there were still
some skeptics out there saying that, Hey, we need to see Josuar really do it in, you know, when he
comes stateside in the ACL to prove that he is a top prospect. And that is exactly what Josuar has
done hitting comfortably above 300 as showing a little bit of slug as well. And, you know,
striking out 20% of the time. Yes, but also walking 16.4% of the time. Basically he's been
walking as much as he's striking out through his entire professional career so far. Now we'll
probably see that strikeout rate uptick a little bit in San Jose, but even if it's around 23%,
he's still, he should still be able to hit above 300 because of that hit tool.
And if he can crank out a few more home runs, that is exactly what you want to see from your
top prospect in a guy who, as I've already said a few times in this video has the upside of being
the best prospect in major league baseball, because he is just 18 years old. Now, moving on
to the other prospect in this promotion is Luis Hernandez. Now he is currently the 32nd ranked
prospect in major league baseball. And these two really do kind of remind me of the two youngsters
with the Milwaukee Brewers. Obviously they have Jesus Mata, who is, I think the consensus
top prospect in major league baseball, but they also have Luis Pena, I believe is his name. I
could be, I could be wrong there, but those two guys are, you know, teenage shortstop middle
infielders who are the top prospect in the Brewers organization and consensus top 10 guys.
I think that's the trajectory that Joshua Gonzalez and Luis Hernandez are heading towards
with the San Francisco Giants. Now I'd say it probably have to be another year or so of
consistent production. You know, obviously their age is never going to be hurting them because
they are just 17 and 18 years old, but if they continue the production they've shown in the ACL
and they do that in San Jose and get promoted to Eugene and do the same thing, then these guys
will surely be within the top 10 to 15 prospects in all of major league baseball at the same time.
Now Luis Hernandez has been not necessarily as good as Joshua Gonzalez, but you consider the
fact that he is just 17 years old, skipped the DSL, the Dominican summer league, came directly
over after signing internationally, and you will be extremely encouraged, you know, a 298, 362,
excuse me, 382, 535 slash line, a 117 WRC plus, striking out just 16% of the time as a 17 year
old in the ACL, walking 11% of the time. He has a little bit more juice than Joshua currently. Now
I think the conversation here is, you know, ceiling versus floor. I think Luis Hernandez's
floor is a little bit higher than Joshua's, but if Joshua reaches that ceiling that he has,
it is really a Francisco Lindor type of player because he can defend his butt off at shortstop
and if the offense reaches the level we think it can, then he looks like a guy that, you know,
could be a Francisco Lindor type in major league baseball. But back to Luis Hernandez,
45 RBI, six stolen bases, 35 runs scored. He does basically everything on a baseball field
you want him to do. Now I don't think he's necessarily a great runner, especially comparing
him to Joshua, but still six stolen bases in his 54 games this year. I think he's a good enough
runner and if the IQ matches what I've heard from people in the industry, in the prospect world,
then he should be able to steal, you know, around 10 bags a season, which is definitely good
considering the other stuff he does on a baseball field and he's also a good defender. You know, yes,
Joshua gets a lot of the conversation as the best defender of the middle infielders in the
Giants system, but Luis Hernandez is not a bum by any means in terms of defense. He's a good defender.
He's just not as flashy, not as maybe the range that Joshua has, but Luis Hernandez is still a
good defender and he does everything you could want from a baseball player, especially a 17
year old who skipped the DSL after signing internationally, coming over stateside and
already showing really, really encouraging signs in the ACL. Now I didn't mention that before we
get out of here, we would break down some specific picks from prize picks. Now I don't have Giants
picks today, but you could go more or less four and a half strikeouts with Cam Schlittler. He has
obviously been one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball this season. You could also go
more or less one and a half total bases from Jake McCarthy, a guy who has dominated the Giants this
year. It felt like especially the most recent series against the Rockies. So these are two
fun picks. You could obviously check out the Giants picks, Bryce Ellridge, Rafael Devers. Those guys
are consistently in there. Everyone in the Giants, you could check out MLB, WNBA, NBA when it starts.
All of the major sports are on prize picks and you can check those out today. Price Picks also
has some really great promotions going on. Today is Friday and they are currently doing their Flex

out Price Picks and thank you to Price Picks for sponsoring today's video. Now that is going to do
it for today's discussion on Luis Hernandez, on Joshua Gonzalez, the top two prospects in the
system. Now, some people do actually have Johnny level above Luis Hernandez. So some outlets have
Joshua Gonzalez one, Johnny level two, Luis Hernandez three. But either way, these are two
of the top three prospects in the organization. And it is an exciting time to be a Giants fan,
not because of the Big League Club, but because of the farm system finally showing signs of life
after north of a decade of underwhelming promotions, underwhelming debuts from guys
who should have been saviors of the organization that have just not panned out. That is going to
do it for today's video. If you enjoyed it, make sure to hit that subscribe button. That'd be much
appreciated by myself and everyone over at Digest Media. And if you want to let me know your thoughts
on these promotions, your thoughts on these prospects, make sure to leave a comment down
