Miyu Nagasaki vs Giulia Takahashi | WS R32 | #WTTSaoJose 2026

This year, we're playing here in the court clean of the spare balls. Oh, and a lovely Takahashi. Just kept going straight away from there. Victory for Brazil if they're able to pull this one off. At the moment, you can hear the Nagasaki serve. But in the rallies she's doing very well. Miyu looked great in the knock-up. A couple of errors during the game. Just working hard, keeping calm, playing well. Today, she's got Nagasaki under pressure. Yeah, takes the first game. Listen to the crowd. Over-enthusiasm possibly for Takahashi. Drifting off the end from Miyu. Oh, the ball wasn't thrown up vertically. And it needs to be. Francisco just calling that one out for preparation. Yeah, lovely work. Game point to level it at one all. Yeah, two serves, two points from Miyu Nagasaki at the end there. At one game all. Brazil serving. Again into the body, aiming underneath the playing arm. A match certainly in your favour. Corner, ready to serve forehand. There's a lefty. Fast serve again. Oh, what a flick. Just got away from her a little bit in this match. Oh, lovely return of serve. World class from Miyu Nagasaki. You can see the quality here. Wide of the backhand from the middle. Two games to one to Japan. Now Miyu Nagasaki serving. Two games to one up. Counted well with a flatter hit. Very, very hard to win the matches. There's another one. Yes. Good fist bump. Look at the coach. That's what she wanted. Gets the serve back OK. She's in the rally. Oh, what a fantastic rally. And then take her own chance later in the rally. Well played Miyu Nagasaki. Serve the next rally quickly. Julia's going to take her time. Rightly so, I think. Julia really has made herself proud here. Certainly made the Brazilian crowd proud of her. First game. Delighted the crowd. And proved something about where she can go in future. And well played both women. Nagasaki got her game together. Improved and improved through the game. Fantastic quality serves as well. But a big shout out.
