Literature. And this country's literature. There are 3 current books I wanted to call your
attention to.
第一本是普利策奖得主查尔斯·克劳萨默（Charles
Krauthammer）所著——书名叫《重要的事》（Things That
Matter）。这本书探讨了你们正在做的事，以及为什么这些事情如此重要。
The first one is by Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Krauthammer -- Things That Matter. It
discusses what you're doing and why it matters.
第二本书是你们的前市长鲁道夫·朱利安尼（Rudolph
Giuliani）所著的《领导力》（Leadership），讲的是在顺境和逆境中如何领导。
The second book is by your former mayor Rudolph Giuliani -- Leadership. It covers what it
takes to lead through good and bad times.
第三本我想推荐的是比尔·布辞利（Bill Bradley）的《比赛的价値》（Values of the
Game）。我们都知道比尔·布辞利——纳尼尼克队史上最伟大的篮球运动员之一。
The last book is Bill Bradley's Values of the Game. We all know Bill Bradley -- one of the
greatest basketball players of all time from the New York Knicks.

Thank you for allowing me to speak. We share a common background for right and freedom.
My family came here in 1630, ten years after the Pilgrims. I know I look older, but I'm not quite
that old. (laughter)

The United States sells freedom by giving it away -- something no other country does. That's
why oppressed people come here. Here, every one of us is backed by the Constitution of the
United States.

Your group represents 28% of the population of your home country. Anything times a million is
a lot. You have a very powerful worldwide group that, united, is a tremendous economic force.

What you have is the right and freedom this country has stood for over 27 years. We are
proud to speak on behalf of ourselves and the United Nations. Remember -- you are here, you
are proud, and you have tremendous strength to use. Thank you very much.
