Painting techniques for rice paper mounted card

Half-ripe rice papers are not made the same.

This is the second batch of "half-ripe rice paper mounted cards" that I have purchased (from a different supplier). The quality is not the same. It is more ripe with low water permeability. Not the best for freestyle/freehand Chinese painting but sometimes we just have to work with what we have. Check out the way I create a soft shades in the video.
