Easy Border Plant | Germander Sage (Salvia chamaedryoides)

Low maintenance, drought tolerant, and super easy! Germander Sage (USDA Zones 7-10) just might be your solution for a lower foreground plant. Use Salvia chamaedryoides along borders to lead your eye up though a space, or in a parkway where lower plantings may be desirable. These beautiful little Sages look great in Southwest and Cottage style landscapes, but can also work well in California native gardens. They will attract desirable wildlife like bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

In colder climates, Germander Sage may partially defoliate, but will return with robust silvery gray foliage in Spring. The bloom its a deep rich blue color which sits just above the foliage. When planted in masses, the blooms catch the light creating an almost shimmery affect. The blooms will last a very long time, generally through the end of Summer.
