Commentary:
This is not a channel for reviews or to supply information about the company, the dancers, etc. My purpose to share in a small way the excitement of attending the live performances which I have the privilege to attend. This particular performance was so outstanding that I want to share a few thoughts. First, the entire performance was spectacular. I have listed the principal cast but every single dancer on this stage was superb. Having seen this ballet many, many times, I often watch the dancers off the main scene who contribute in subtle ways. That was very hard for this performance but worthwhile advice I think. Second, Chloe Misseldine was fantastic. I shall say no more. The partnering by Aron Bell, superb. The performance by Joseph Markey as Von Rothbart in the Great Hall was delightful. Who could forgive the poor prince for being deceived? Who could be a better flirtatious partner to Odile, the Queen Mother and each of the princesses? I had not realized how amusing this sequence could be, Markey with those princesses, each being encouraged! Third, the Swans. Oh my!
