Hey, Miles here with a quick tip, and this tip is about using red dots,
and perhaps it's more of a food for thought video.
Now, I'm pretty new to red dots. I really like shooting irons, but I've had bad eyes all my life,
and now that, you know, I'm in my 40s, I can really tell my eyes are really bad.
Anything that's beyond 20 yards, I can't even tell if I've nailed the shot or not.
So I'm now exploring red dots just because, you know, as you get older,
there's nothing you can do. You just can't see as clearly.
So as I've been messing around with red dots, I haven't been shooting it too much yet,
but I am going to start.
One thing I noticed is that, you know, I was starting to think about it is
when I practice with this red dot on this P320X Compact,
and I'm using a Delta Point Pro, it's great. Everything about this is great.
It has great reviews, and I love the concept of how,
or the fact that shooting with a red dot can actually improve your iron sight shooting.
But what I don't like is the fact that I'm constantly having to adjust the lighting setting
wherever I go. In a training session, I train usually all day where it's, you know,
it's sunny, and then it gets dark later on, or sometimes it's cloudy,
and you're always having to adjust the setting.
And also, if you're going into low light situations, then immediately out into bright light,
that red dot doesn't really, it becomes a hassle,
because you have to slow down and adjust everything.
And to me, I think that's great if you're a sport shooter,
you're just doing it for training, that's great.
But I, when I think about the equipment that I use and think about self-defense,
I know for a fact that if I was in a gunfight or, you know, a real life altercation here,
I can't, I'm not going to be sitting here adjusting my settings.
If I'm going from bright light to red, dark, dark to bright light,
or, you know, sunlight or anything like that.
And so, I know that I have, I have a RMR, a Trijicon RMR on this ACOG.
And I know I've used this a lot in the past, and I've, it's always on, always on,
and it automatically adjusts.
So the point of this video is, I would consider, you know, depending on your needs, right?
So, I mean, for sport, it makes perfect sense.
Maybe you get something where you can dial in everything to specifically what you want
and get a really large window.
But if you're thinking about self-defense applications, you know, this, an auto,
a red dot that auto adjusts, I truly believe is the way to go.
Not, maybe not for sport or anything like that, you know,
for recreational shooting, you can use anything you want.
But if you're carrying and you're using a red dot, I mean,
why not get something that automatically adjusts?
Because you're never going to know what lighting conditions you're in.
And I've tested this multiple times, just going from light, dark to dark, light,
and it does a great job.
And I don't know what other brands are out there.
This is the Trijicon RMR, but there most likely are other brands that automatically adjust.
But I think that's something you should think about using.
If you're using a red dot and it doesn't automatically adjust,
then it might not be the best use for your carry weapon, right?
So that's just food for thought.
Think about that.
While I'm getting used to red dots, I'm using a Delta Point Pro here,
and as I mentioned, it doesn't auto adjust.
Perhaps there's a model that does.
I don't think there is one yet.
But consider that because in self-defense applications,
you're most likely, you're not going to be there in a fight adjusting this if you have to.
So consider something that automatically adjusts.
Hope you guys like that and hope it helps you shooting your red dot.
