AI GeneratedTwo English teachers from Desert International Charities share their experiences serving in Mongolia. They discuss their passion for the local culture, the warmth of the Mongolian people, and their personal philosophies on kindness and selfless service.
Please tell us about your name and what you do in Mongolia.
I'm an English teacher for the Desert International Charities.
My name is Anna. I'm also an English teacher through Desert International Charities.
Desert International Charities. How long have you been in Mongolia?
I've been here for five months.
I've been here for two months.
And how fluent is your Mongolian?
Wow, that's really impressive.
So what made you choose Mongolia instead of other countries?
Well, we were assigned to come to Mongolia, but Mongolia is great.
People are so kind and we love talking to them every day.
It's so cool. Right now we just finished up the Nadum Festival, which is a summer festival here.
And the culture and the food is just amazing.
Isn't that right?
So we put in an application to go do service anywhere in the world.
We were assigned to Mongolia.
But the more I found out more about this country, I found out how special it was really.
It's so unique and it's got amazing culture.
We've met so many awesome people since coming here and formed so many awesome relationships.
It's really a special experience to come here and do service for these people who just want to learn English
or need anything else that we can help out with.
That's so sweet.
You mentioned kindness.
Can you share your experience here of kindness in Mongolia?
We've experienced giving kindness in different ways.
People love when we say hi to them or give them candy, talk to them, invite them to activities and events.
It's always nice to help people.
Just be friendly to people.
I feel like some are a little hesitant around foreigners.
But if they know that you're coming from a good place, then they feel that love.
Also, we've received a lot of kindness here.
There are so many people that are like,
Hey, you're American. Come over to my house.
Eat boats with me.
Or just saying, Oh, you're so hot.
You're so cute.
That's so sweet.
We've met a lot of awesome selfless people here.
Can I ask you what kindness means?
I think kindness is being willing to show other people that you care about them,
even if you don't know who they are.
Everybody deserves a little bit of kindness.
Not being afraid to be vulnerable with people.
I think you said it well.
Kindness is loving others as yourself.
It's not having something in the back of your mind.
If you do something nice for someone, not expecting anything in return.
Just having charity.
That's why you do charity work.
You have a big heart.
Giving without expecting getting something in return.
I can feel it.
While you're talking, you're sharing.
You're such a peaceful person.
I think Mongolia is in your nature.
I wish you all the best with your charity work.
Thank you for being in Mongolia.
Sharing your kindness and receiving kindness from people.
Also, I believe that more people with kindness will come to Mongolia.
There's a little cat here.
It's so cute.
It wants to stay here forever.
Thanks to the cat, we stop and talk.
Yeah, I know. It's so fun.
Thank you for sharing your message about kindness and Mongolia.
I wish you all the best.
Also, welcome to Vietnam.
Bye-bye.
