This is the first in a best of three series where two teams duked it out with medium funds. The limited money meant teamwork and micro management was much more important. This series is a test of who can best fight as a united force!

AI GeneratedOakley leads a strategic 3v3 alliance (Parthia, Bactria, and Gaul) to victory against a coalition of Parthia, Rome, and Pontus. By employing a central wedge formation, leveraging heavy cataphracts to absorb damage, and utilizing armored elephants to shatter Roman lines, Oakley emphasizes tactical coordination and terrain management over raw numbers to dismantle the opposition.
Hey, what's up guys, this is Oakley and we're gonna be doing a 3v3 online battle
I'm gonna go ahead and put this on slow motion again. It's a really cool battle for a couple reasons
First when we host this it's actually small to I think it was medium funds anyways
It's not the large armies that you would typically see and now normally that's kind of a downside because you think it's less epic
It was actually way more
Strategic I felt when you played with this type of funds because everyone's army is not large enough to face
It's not sort of large enough to be an army in and of itself
So what you have is all armies kind of merging and playing together in order to have sort of fighting as a large
Cohesive army with sub commanders all coming together as opposed to having separate fights on different parts of the battlefield
Anyways, I'm gonna be Parthia
So what I brought was two summation horse archers backed up by royal cataphracts median cav
Then one Parthian foot archer here
Elephants here and then citizen cap and then I also have some of these Parthian swordsman hidden back here
Allied forces are gonna be Bactria which is gonna have Syrian archers
Peltas Peltas two of these Bactrian noble horse and then the Indian armored elephants and then we have Gaul who's supposed to be our
Heavier stockier infantry force fighting against us is gonna be Parthia who sort of has a similar build to myself
He's gonna have two of these formation horse archers
Median calf summation horse archers and eastern cataphracts. So I believe he may have some more elephants
I know he invested more in cavalry. So these guys are gonna be over here
So I think my elephants do give me an edge and being able to break harbor
He'd break his forces just with like a stampede. However, he has a lot more guys who can
Bob and weave around our forces
They also have Rome who's gonna be able to tangle with the Arverni
And over here we have Pontus who again has lots of these horse archers
So our strategy was to approach
And what we were thinking of doing was picking the enemy apart
So you don't see it here
but we were drawing on the map a lot trying to coordinate and what my goal was to
Push these guys into the woods and what I was telling our allies to do was to push
Through the center here drive a wedge through the opponent's forces and be able to catch these guys
At the same time we wanted to push our forces forward here and have the Arverni who is the largest of our forces
Halt here in the woods in cover and hold the enemy back and see what we could do when it came to breaking the opponent
Who had gotten too far away?
So you can see that
Strategy being enacted here
I'm gonna be charging forward and then we'll be pulling back at the same time trying to get these guys
Isolated and then what I'm gonna be drawing on the map is a big huge arrow
Overlaying that a couple times in red telling them to charge through the center
That's gonna be the wedge like I was saying and it's working perfectly these guys think they can tango with us
What happens is they have three of these unsupported horse archers? Yeah, okay
I only have two horse archers
But then I have these heavy royal cataphracts who could take a beating from the archers and keep them curled in
However, he does realize what we're trying to do
And now they're gonna be pulling an all-out retreat trying to rejoin and look at this
This is we're gonna pull forward with all our forces and it's gonna draw more and more of these cavalry and they realize the
The sort of tight spot they're in so we're gonna be trying to intercept as many of these forces as possible
We can look at this. Here we go
All our forces cutting in through the front my cataphract soaking in any of these shots
That would be fielded by these guys, you know as they're retreating
Yeah, you can see a couple of them were hit but here I am chasing in with the back
More of our forces are coming in and look at this. They're forming up with all their cavalry here at the same time
I ordered these guys to fall back
So we're gonna be not trying to get too overwhelmed because we have no cavalry support
Basically, no cavalry support to speak of compared to all these caps
We're gonna fall back to that line of defenses over here. Look at this
I was able to cut them off with my own cavalry and look at this now
They're all in this neck of the woods
So my own horse archers are gonna be doing some damage to these guys and I have some royal cataphracts
Median cab and now I'm telling these guys to go around the flank
So this is gonna be perfect for us and we're positioning our elephants in this neck of the woods quite literally just to prevent any
reinforcements
There we go. He's gonna be auto retreating. Basically. His guys are on skirmish mode, but they're not gonna be able to retreat any further
They've hit the red line
This is where I'm gonna charge in with my median cab and just crush through those guys
That's gonna be enough to tie these forces down over here his archers. I'm gonna actually engage them directly with my forces
Yeah, I'm gonna tell them to just charge in he's gonna try and escape
However, look at this more median cab and especially these royal cataphracts
I'm just telling them to charge as far over here. So these guys wouldn't slip out of the way
I didn't want to charge them directly in case there's any
problems with navigation and
By doing this I was able to catch as many of them as possible and now we're gonna crush those three
Horse archers basically for zero cost an excellent turn of events for our side
so Romans tried to push forward with the star mation horse archer support, however, we do have enough of our own archers here and
Various cavalry to force them back. So that's gonna be a pretty good win for us
And we're still positioning ourselves over here with the woods on our right flank to anchor that down
So now we're gonna be returning from this victory on this side of the battlefield
He still has a couple units left, but let's take a look at our losses 20 losses here. That's fine. No losses there three
No losses there. So we lost about Oh
Another half unit there. So we lost about a units worth of troops for the exchange of three units
I think that's definitely in our favor
However, it does mean that we have a lot of troops that are too far away at least there are cavalry
So it means we can move pretty quickly to reinforce
Our opponents are gonna decide to be more defensive with their cavalry. However, look at this
They still have a pretty good amount of these cavalry forces enough to keep us from surrounding the back
So, let's see what they go ahead and decide to do with this
these horse archers are having a bit of a hard time getting around the Gallic force here because of the woods and the fact that
We actually do have some of these skirmishers who could at any point in time, you know
Kind of hide in the woods where they won't be taking too much damage and try and do an exchange
But they are gonna be still trying to go around the sides. I believe in the near future, especially with more of the
Cataphracts and other various troops that are gonna try and overwhelm this flank. So that's a good move
However, here we go
We're gonna be moving up to try and pester these forces the battery and Peltas are gonna try and get in range
However, keep in mind that we do have Eastern archers facing against us. So those are gonna out range us
The main advantage we're gonna have here is as soon as we can get this entire flank moving
These are my elephants and these guys are gonna be able to crack any of these forces
Especially if I could get those in the Roman equities, it's gonna do a lot of damage
Here he's gonna seize on an opportunity to charge forward potentially get these Eastern archers who have gotten too far out
however, we do run the risk of getting countercharged by the cavalry you can see them doing just that and
These archers have steel balls on them
They didn't even run and they just get off some volleys against our retreating guys. So pretty good move
However, he did move them directly into the forest
So they wouldn't take too much damage and now he's counter charging with more of these forces
Forcing the Peltas back over on this flank. They're preparing for their cavalry engagement. However, our Vernie has decided to charge out right here
That's a pretty good move
We're just gonna try and completely envelop these guys here and I have my own horse archers two of them
Attacking his Celtic light horse
I knew that would be a good idea mostly because if I can get rid of those guys that neuters his mobility
We're landing more of these probing cavalry strikes just to bait and pull them apart
He's starting to get some spears around the flank
However, we're gonna realize that this is going on and detach some levee Freeman and some of these Celtic warriors to deal with those
that's gonna be very easy to do and these horsemen are gonna pull up right through the center and
Keep in mind where we were positioning our elephants one to attack from the front here another to go through here
He's gonna decide to counter charge with these Roman Cav a pretty good move considering
I have two horse archers and none of the rest of my forces here
my median cab is gonna decide to just hold steady and
Allow the elephants to take this charge. They have a lot of beefy health and especially these guys
I'm putting them on heavy shots. So they're gonna be able to start picking away at his Roman Cav
You can see me here starting to deal a little bit of damage to them
And now I'm gonna go ahead and decide to counter charge with all my forces
It's gonna tell him to go back Eastern arches pull it putting in the damage and now we're charging with most our forces
Put this on slow motion. We did lose some of our light horse to combine archer fire
He's starting to overwhelm that flank. Harry is getting his noble cab to force those back
So it's kind of a holding position here allowing us to go and do as much damage as possible
What we're doing with our horsemen is corralling these guys into a smaller and smaller position
The Romans are gonna be forced to reposition as they do that's gonna open up it for a charge from these
Celtic skirmishers who can do a lot of damage to the Romans once they try and reform and then these elephants to charge back in
The source archers are trying to keep these skirmishers from doing too much damage
Forcing them to reposition and allowing us to get closer, especially with my Peltas
I'm deciding to target his levy pikemen here
At least I'm gonna try and get in range and do that damage and then my archer is here
I told him to just charge in get as close to the enemy as possible
keep telling his
Sort of forcing his guys to react and push to the front of the pikes that the last thing he want and then I pull
Back all the while getting shots and positioning these elephants in the back. That's the last place he wants to see elephants
Continuing to bait and kite here this flank. We're gonna start losing more and more men. However, it's fine. It's just
supposed to abide for time
Do charge into the precipice. However, Eastern archers are gonna be
Pouring in the fire any of his troops that do get to extend are gonna be charged by this combined army
He does get some of this charge off on our men a very good strike
He's taking out our cavalry here. However, look at all these infantry defending on descending on his position
Romans are now gonna decide to push through the center reinforce this what that does is it creates a power vacuum
Allowing my guys to move in here through here and these elephants are ready to ward off any of these Romans who are pushing through here
so it's kind of
It's sort of evenly fought you could say because this flank is being overtaken. However at the same time we're overtaking this flank
I think the deciding factor is gonna be the elephants that we have here
Elephants, of course once you get them in the crucial position and they charge in they do tremendous amounts of damage
So we could wipe out this army very very quickly
Considering how light it is, especially with the elephants who are gonna be told to just pull right through to these Romans
They don't have very many spears with them. So it's gonna be the perfect target for elephants once this has been opened up
However, look at this all of the forces are now swiveling around this side. My guys are kind of exposed here
However, I did keep back some swordsmen to ward the opponents off
But we still have a lot of these light troops who are open for the attack. I'm gonna go ahead and put it back on play
I'm just buying my time here telling my guys to specifically pick off his pikemen here with heavy shot
Once those guys are broken. He has absolutely nothing to keep us from creaming through here
So holding my elephants back keeping them from being, you know sent into rampage mode
He's continuing to flank around here. He's gonna try and charge into my skirmishers. You're probably a good move
I'm gonna move back with my royal cataphracts here. Let's go ahead and put this on slow motion
Celtic use were thrashed and now this flank is completely surrounding the Celtic horde
However, Rome would probably be able to beat him. But what we have is elephants coming in here for the charge
Over here. I'm continuing to keep the Rome from being from sort of over committing over here and doing too much damage
So I'm keeping them back and at the same time the force that was trying to get around our backs is now gonna be facing
My heavy cataphracts and also my own swordsmen and archers here
I'm telling them not to target these guys who are in the woods, but rather to target the forces here
So these guys are gonna collapse especially when fighting against the elite or no
These are just foot archers, but still this close range
I can shatter units very easily cataphracts are gonna ward this force off
However, we do have these enemy median cav just getting into the thick of it, but we do have reinforcements
Now the Romans are gonna charge in counter charge my star mation horse archers that I had sent into here to soften up his forces
They were kind of out of ammo. So I just sent them in to cause him to waste the charge
Now his Romans are out of position. It's gonna line up the assault for my elephants at this flank right here
They're gonna be coming in and this is gonna be a perfect time to engage these
Indian armored elephants are gonna be a lot of damage and right here into this spear formation may not be the best tactic
But these guys don't have the highest attack
And especially if these guys went uncontested for a while, they may die due to all these levees and javelin, but here comes my forces
Complete surround our troops the Arverni forces are gonna be pummeling the Romans into submission in the front lines
However, they do have more of these principals coming in from the back sturdy enough and they're trying to ward off the rest of
The assault but as I keep telling you the elephants are gonna be the deciding factor
Over here. My cataphracts help even up this fight. However, look at this all these forces descending on us on this flank
More and more Calvary so a huge Calvary fight developing on this flank
Lots of the remaining forces who are maneuvering us are coming in through here. However, we do still have
Mopping up operations in this flank two entire elephant units who are still ready these guys
I decided to charge them in break Pontic forces and allow the Romans to go at it on this flank
However, we were getting countercharged. So maybe I should turn my forces back. Yeah, look at this
They're gonna route almost the entirety of that Gallic force
So that's where we're gonna decide to recommit these elephants and any of our available horse archers into this position
My own forces here are getting tied down our cataphracts 40 for 40 against these noble blood cav
I'm gonna be doing a lot of damage and
We do have sort of all our skirmishers were forming behind my forces here
And these archers are gonna be picking off his forces who are being otherwise indecisive. Here we go
This is gonna be the deciding moment of this battle at least where it stands right now
it's gonna be the elephants charging in through here scaring off the remainder of this Roman force that had otherwise cleaned up our units and
yeah, we're gonna be deciding to sort of charge through here pull these guys into our forces and now we're gonna counter charge on all
Flanks, so it looks like our opponents
you know
they cut through the middle one there one on their flank but then we're getting the sandwich because I was able to hold this flank and
Charge through with the elephants and a double elephant charge on these Romans is gonna result in their annihilation
So this is gonna be the crux of our remaining force is gonna be these two elephant units who can just batter any of the
Enemy forces as long as they can't unite and form up in a common front or at least ward us off with the Sarmatians
But that's what he's gonna try and do right here
And they do have more of these horse archers in the back here
Elephants still rampaging still doing a good amount of damage. However, they are exhausted at this point
He's gonna go ahead and form up with his forces here. Hope that they can hold back
And then these Romans I'm assuming they're waiting to counter charge these elephants and throw their pillow
But over this flank I have cleaned up this part of the battlefield
We're bringing in more and more of our troops and my counterfacts are definitely a very
Important part of the battle that still remains these heavy-armed troops are gonna be
Crucial for taking out or at least tanking some of the shots from his troops. They could otherwise
Bait and kite the duration of the battle
Some of our elephants are now gonna be starting to lose most of their health
You can see the fire arrows taking their toll on our elephants pillow being thrown at them
So these guys are gonna start to collapse. They're gonna start to
Run amok relatively soon. So there goes probably one of the elephants. Yeah, and
Two Romans still alive a big clump of our forces here are getting countercharged by these
Noble horse archers and now these rampaging elephants are gonna come in even if they do go and they start
Yeah, they're probably gonna go berserk pretty soon there we go
They're rampaging right now, but at least they're in and amongst the enemy. That's gonna allow us to break those forces. I
Believe this replay is probably a little glitch because these forces are still alive. It's been a while since I've had that issue
So but the outcome was pretty much just like this such as minor differences here and there
Romans are gonna try and reform over on this flank and at least hide in the woods
But uh, yeah, here we go. We crushed the remainder of the forces here. All he has left are these star mation horse archers?
They're pretty much out of ammo
So we're gonna be able to counter charge with the remainder of our forces through here
Go ahead and fast-forward this a little bit
He's gonna decide to charge in through here, but he's out of ammo
Like I was saying not much they can do the elephants are gonna go ahead and single-handedly decide to take on these Romans
Let's watch this from their perspective. So they were hoping to get back in the fight. Oh
Wow, very lucky pull it through
Volleys right there. They're able to actually do a lot of damage to these elephants only one of them left
He should be low health. So these Romans are actually gonna be able to maybe even up this this battle up here
I don't remember how this went and
Yep
Looks like those guys actually ended up getting destroyed, but we still had more forces left
So at the end it says victory has eluded us, but I guarantee you that we did win this battle
It was just a little corrupted and you can see here. We still have remaining troops areas. I hope you enjoyed
We did do two of these battles to stay tuned for another one coming up in the near future
Same opponent same map same style battle. See you guys next time
