Overland to the North Country (Part 2/3) // EFRT S5 EP32

In this week's episode of The Eouc Family Road Trip, we continue on our journey north from our off-grid cabin to the northernmost town accessible by road in Ontario, Canada. Pickle Lake is known as "Ontario's Last Frontier" and is the gateway to a vast wilderness of breathtaking forest and endless rivers and lakes which make perfect campsites. We drove 1,700 km (1,056 m) from the Greater Sudbury area to the "End of The Road" in our Jeeps and camped along the way in beautiful Provincial Park camps. Once we got further north we turned off of the Trans Canada Highway onto Highway 599, known as Pickle Lake Road which we took all the way up to the town of Pickle Lake. We camped one night in Pickle Lake where we met Jamie and Spencer Hussey, avid Jeepers and Pickle Lake locals who had recommended we visit the town on our Instagram messages a few months prior. We had never heard of the small, remote Northern Ontario town before so we were intrigued. With everything going on and all the travel restrictions and borders closures still in place, we have decided to explore more of our own backyard in our home province of Ontario, Canada. In Pickle Lake, we filled up with gas as it was the last place to get gas on the road north. We then left Pickle Lake and ventured north to the end of the road which ends in a lake, Lake Windigo, along the way camping in a remote and beautiful campsite next to the Pipestone River.
