Sometimes nature reminds us that life in the wild is both beautiful and harsh.

In this 4K wildlife documentary, I share my observations of a magnificent adult male Eastern Grey Kangaroo after what appeared to be a serious fight with another male. At first, he was feeding quietly before slowly crossing the road and returning to the grass. As I reviewed my footage later, I noticed a large wound on the inside of his right thigh.

Over the following days, I continued to monitor him. Despite his injury, he remained with his mob, continued grazing, and was still able to hop smoothly. Like many wild animals, he showed remarkable resilience.

Sadly, after being monitored by local rangers for several days, they determined that his condition was not improving. To prevent further suffering, the difficult decision was made to humanely euthanise him.

This video is not intended to be sensational. It is a respectful record of one wild kangaroo's final days and a reminder of the challenges these remarkable animals face in their natural environment.

Thank you to the wildlife rangers who monitored his condition and made decisions based on his welfare.
