Iran vs Germany Epic Volleyball Highlights | Men's VNL 2026

player to watch Jan Zimmermann 32 years old spent the last few years with Monza in the Italian league that's a great block but a big or a big hit by Hagi the block is up once more the three of them watching two of them going again and Bremer is once more there with Böhmer they are two mighty German walls let's say three is the magic number three actually played right into the hands of literally of Erich Goers he's up all straight through one on one there ain't there is a switch of attack and then Böhmer first time we really see him come into the attack for Germany the opposite swinging freely he was subbed out very quickly against Slovenia but that's going deep as that reaches up and coming through from the backcourt but decoy work it's a meaty serve and that's gone up in the air Zimmermann has to control it watch it the block is ready coming straight back over that's a little advantage and Morteza goes once more lovely pass and then goes again brilliant wonderful fluent play by the top scorer he'll take a few low five block triple block Ashiya sent it all the way to Hagi that is beautiful using the hands good serve that is coming straight back over big chance now Ashiya oh wow Zimmermann how did he keep that in play and then what a finish Böhmer Germany draw level completely against the run of play oh it's up still in play Mewison is ready and lands it what a big hit that is 22-20 they've just broken clear Bill Grant on serve the sweetest contact by Morteza but in the end it's a lovely play by Germany here's Tobias Brandt wonderful set I mentioned if the middle blocker gets dragged out of position he's going to go hard he did this last in yesterday's game as well for those in white on court in front of us at the moment lovely roll serve Böhmer he won't get many simpler but he was up and down very quickly they needed to score this they need to make sure they stay in touch they set off at a really good rate in the first set exactly the same spot and it's another ace stunning two out of two two out of two for Hagi who's going to take that it's an ace six players on instruction timeout from Roberto Piazza but they are leading it's very close and there we go just what country wanted put it where he needed it and it goes down and it's disappeared almost into row d from behind in the seats behind that German service line what a big hit that took it away get away from the block and he knows it we're seeing some big big swings can he put pressure on the other side of the net Graham has that Moritz is out of action so here comes Böhmer puts it away they're level Germany needs you now oh yes absolutely he's delivered got it a little bit closer where it was originally going to go Mohammed it's in play and quick just lands it straight away in front of him this one wider it's a great set Montez will go again oh he tips it down beautifully played oh yes like a python with his left hand just moving forward I don't know even got as far as the challenge good hand by Agprast and now he'll just have to put that over not the smoothest but he got it over in the end and Bremer just puts that away and Germany say right we're kicking on once more in some ways that's quite cheeky little second cheeky little reverse the 19 championships when he was one of the stars for Iran oh lovely slight attack we don't see that very often with Crick and Zimmerman but that worked so a short set or a short reverse set depends on where excuse me where the positions are in that middle blocker post coming back from the block Zimmerman has a look and then decides we'll go Rijkaard backcourt good defense take two again wonderful dig by Hazard Rijkaard now plays the great defense oh wonderful Eric Roos despite the flying hand of Agprast the other side of the net Roos pops it up Rijkaard doesn't get through but Tobias Crick again hardly has to move he's so tall it's been a faltering return well it's deep but it's straight where Morteza would have wanted and it's another point simple as you like for Iran Neymar still on court aged 18 looking good he's got a touch on the way past Morteza great pass boom straight through by Neymar from front backcourt to front bang well that was like a Roos set facing away set across the angle across his body oh it's a good serve it's a wonder serve it's an ace on to Crick everything going to hand at the boy do they need something some encouragement monster block for Germany sorry that was just the reach here I just had world championship middle blocker VNL middle blocker it's in play that's key Berber arriving ball hasn't gone down the triple block on Roos and then Issa plunges forward can't get that it's a nice swing and it's Haji on serve still Haji Germany alive at the moment let's come back Morteza with a smile goes for a little tip two players go for the same ball Rijkaard off the net Haji just popped it up Hasrat says that'll do nicely and here comes Morteza and still it comes back what a good rally this is goes once more to the captain a little roll and that's good enough given all the power of these two teams for Germany Roos picked it up Berber sends one flashing through they've got a point on the board in this fifth set it's a start well 15 points for Berber 16 points for Roos Mohammed on serve doesn't quite get that how he likes it there's a well off the net here comes Haji if in doubt send it to number 17 and he surely obliges Hasrat on serve what a serve that is 120 kilometers 119 kilometers now that's they're on a halfway to 15 already Haji waits sends it across to Haji Brandt oh it's good gets the hands and the way that that hand touched the ball it sent it out rather than in court let's fly but that's still a lovely pass Graben oh roll up Brandt keeps it in play free ball but can Iran take full advantage here comes Haji absolutely they can it's had his nemesis once over the net lovely touch by Brandt sheer stoops here comes Haji it's bang on cue whoa how about that block was actually stuffed there's only one place our sheer on serve brandt lovely cushioned rises and then Haji's there once more he can spike he can serve he can block and then off the head of us he takes the point and they only need two more now and they have a famous much needed victory this has to go in part one but here comes Iran it's Haji who else and Haji's done it and Iran have done it they needed a third victory in the BNL and they've achieved it 15 12 3 2 against
