Barbora Krejcikova vs. Maria Sakkari | 2026 Athens Final | WTA Match Highlights

Well what a mid-season Barbora Kocikova is having around Fort Wimbledon and here she is in her second tour final in less than a month. 1986 that was the year Maria Sakkari's mum Angelica reached the final here in Athens. What a start. Try and draw mistakes if she can from Sakkari. Yeah and that is what Kocikova will do. Oh that's a lovely pass finally. Kocikova 1-2. Oh what a pass and the gap was there. In the corner she's got a coach, she's got a fiance, I think her brother's in there as well. Mum and dad in the crowd. Lovely classic Kocikova forehand. Well maybe it's not a formality. Yeah the drop shot has to be good. Oh that is some shot. Has she made it? No it's long. Oh and Kocikova takes it. Oh there is a groan around. I don't think the crowd helped Sakkari there. A few shouts came out after the serve and it was awkward, difficult to deal with. Too good. Sakkari has been the flag bearer. Oh she's done another wonderful backhand down the line and she is. What a pass and the crowd. Some of them on their feet. Oh what an angle. It's wide and Kochikova has her ninth main tour title. She has remained cool in the cauldron of Centre Court here in Athens. They all wanted Sakkari to win but Kochikova came here with a job to do and it's job well done for the Czech player. 7-6-6-3. She is victorious here in Athens. You have to say well played by Bora Kochikova.
