The speaker provides actionable styling tips and fabric recommendations to help viewers build a polished, versatile wardrobe that transcends fleeting fads while remaining contemporary and comfortable.
We talk a lot on my channel about the current trends in the fashion world that are happening,
but in this video, I specifically wanted to focus on the trends that are happening right now for
summer 2026 that lean to look a little bit more classic. They are trends, but I think these can
easily slide into your clothes that are more classic, more sophisticated, and they just work
really well with those pieces, even though they are trends. Personally, if I had to describe my
style, I would say classic with a twist, because I like classics, but I like some trends kind of
put in there, and I want some current styles. I want modern silhouettes, and I do save a part
of my wardrobe for trends. So these are some that I just really think fit in really well with my
current wardrobe, and hopefully this gives you inspiration for any outfit ideas for right now,
because I know right now is when we can all use outfit ideas when it's so hot and we're all
sweating to the oldies. This one is definitely going to get a lot of pushback from a lot of
people, but this is my video. You don't have to agree with me on it, but linen barrel pants. So
the barrel silhouette has been on trend for the last, I guess, two years or so, and I love that
whenever this came on the scene, A, the ones that were available were awful, and it's morphed into
a lot more of a mainstream kind of look. Like the shapes aren't so exaggerated anymore, and the
barrel leg is a very big trend, and I don't think it's one that's going to go away anytime soon. A
lot of people are realizing it actually is a really flattering silhouette. So I love my barrel jeans.
I'll show you a couple of them that I've actually worn this summer that I've just really, really
loved. Now, I have tried on a stupid amount of linen pants in the last month. I was just determined
to find the one that I just felt like fit perfectly, and amongst those, I was trying on
some linen barrel pants, and the one that I decided on, the one that I love the way it fit on me,
and these are not cheap, but I'll tell you one that's a lot cheaper. It just unfortunately didn't
work for my body, but it's these by Whistles. I've never worn that brand before, but I love these.
I had a meeting I had to go to the other day, and I'm not in corporate America or anything
like that, but I did want to look more put together, so this is what the outfit I wore.
I wore a quince cotton gauze button-down, and I wore these linen barrel pants, and I forget what
shoes. It was some kind of nude sandal. So that was my outfit. Super hot day. I was very comfortable.
These actually have a stretchy waistband in the back. They're just really comfortable,
but I feel like they're a little bit more sophisticated than just your basic
linen pants. Now, I tried on some linen barrel pants from Banana Republic, and I believe those
are a lot cheaper, but unfortunately, they're too mid-rise, and I just need stuff that is high-rise.
I have a long torso. High-rise works best on me, but I'm just really loving this shape. It turns
out it's one of my favorite trends of the summer. This trend is, it's a trend, and I don't want
anyone to get confused with what I'm talking about, so I'm going to try to just spell it out,
but it's the asymmetrical top. Now, I am not talking about the asymmetrical tunics that we
used to wear with the leggings. Remember we used to do that? It was like a whole thing, and that
is still a very dated look, and so I don't want anyone to think that I'm talking about that.
The asymmetrical tops that are very on trend right now, they basically stop around your hip,
and then they go really long, and I'll show you pictures of what I'm talking about. They're usually
in just a very specific kind of, it may have a pattern on it or maybe just a really cool texture.
They're very elegant looking, and I just think these are so cool, and at first glance, it looks
like it would be a hard trend to pull off, but I actually think this could be very easily pulled
off. It's just, if you like longer tops, there you go, but it doesn't look frumpy at all. You
can easily dress up like a basic pair of pants. I have one from Dish, and I've worn it before,
and you guys have commented that you really like it, but it's just such a cute top. It just
looks so cool over a basic pair of pants, even just my silk pants. It just is a really interesting
silhouette, and then I just got one from this brand that I am just in love with lately. It's
hopefully I'm saying that correctly, but it's just a really cool looking top. I feel like it's just
different than anything else that I have, and it has that asymmetrical look, but I can wear it with
lots of different bottoms, so I think this is one of those trends that looks very classy.
I feel like it's more on the classic side. It can just, it works for a lot of women. I will find a
couple, and I will link some below that I find, and when it comes to classics with a twist, one
of my favorite jewelry companies that I just think embodies that whole phrase is Gingiberry,
so if you see my earrings right here, I wear these all the time. They are super lightweight. I think
they're just so cute, and they're just more interesting than like a basic hoop or something,
so I love these. These just kind of go with all my outfits, and they work with everything,
and so Gingiberry is our sponsor for this video, and I want to share with you some of their new
products that they have for this summer 2026, but if you haven't heard of Gingiberry,
Gingiberry was started by a woman named Emily, who is an actual certified gemologist, and she
started this whole company because she couldn't find any jewelry pieces that really felt special
enough for her and her mom. Now every pearl at Gingiberry is hand selected by an actual expert,
and Gingiberry uses the highest quality for all their jewelry. 14 karat solid gold, 18 karat solid
gold, gold vermeil, aurora pearls, aurora baroque pearls. They really take pride in the elements
used for all of their jewelry. Let's start off with this necklace I want to show you. It's called
the Dawnlight Necklace. This is a 14 karat gold solid gold chain with aurora pearls, and the fun
part is that it's adjustable, so you can wear it as a delicate little station necklace or drop it
into a subtle Y shape for something with a little more drama. I don't know about you, but I don't
have any tattoos. I don't plan on getting any, but if I did, and I was a tattoo person, I'd probably
get my kids. Something about my kids, but I'm not gonna do that because I just don't have any. I'm
like, why start now? But what I do like is I love these birthstone jibs from Gingiberry, so I can
wear the birthstones of my children's birthdays around my neck, and it just it feels very special
to me. That was a really weird way to tell you that I love these kinds of necklaces. So the ones
I'm showing you are the Emerald Bloom Pendant and the Blue Topaz Poise. The Emerald Bloom Pendant
features an oval emerald with tiny lab-grown diamonds doing a little backup dancer routine
all around it. Solid gold, universal bail, so it slides right onto a chain. And then the Blue Topaz
Poise is a clean deep blue emerald cut stone that just reads, put together without even trying. And
then the other stone that you're seeing is the Emerald Cut Lab-Grown Diamond. I've had this for
a while from Gingiberry. I wear it almost every day, and I just think it looks really cute with
these two birthstone jibs. I also feel like these would be a really cute gift for a mom. Now this
bracelet I'm wearing is called the LOD Bracelet. This is a bracelet that I keep reaching for
because it's so easy to wear. It's a gold vermeil bracelet with these big irregular
baroque pearls next to sculptural gold links. So it's got texture, it's got a little bit of edge,
and it doesn't look like every other pearl bracelet. And it has three different lengths
that you can order it in. Now the Rococo earrings like I'm wearing, these are three to seven
millimeters graduating around your earlobe like a tiny gold and pearl waterfall. They're 18 karat
solid gold, hypoallergenic, so if you're one of those people whose ears riot against cheap metal,
you are safe here. And I just want to reiterate these are super lightweight. They're just like
you can't even hardly feel that anything's on your ears. So I love them for that reason. I
love that they're more interesting. I love that they go with so many things. So these have just
really been one of my favorite pairs of earrings that I own. If you're someone who likes high
quality jewelry, I highly suggest checking them out. And let's continue. This next one is a little
bit hard to style, but just stay with me because it is a great alternative if you don't want to
wear linen pants. You don't want to wear jeans. You don't want to wear shorts. What in the world
do you wear? You don't want to wear a skirt or something. And one big trend that's been
happening lately are the silk, satin, and taffeta pants. I'm grouping them all together because I
feel like they all kind of have the same vibe. I think the taffeta pants are so cool looking.
I can't wear that in Florida. I just feel like that may be a fall look for me, but I just can't
do it in Florida. You may have a better climate where you can do that, but they do look really,
really cool. And so where I live are the silk pants. And silk pants, I do think are a little
bit harder to style in my opinion. I don't like them with a button down. I like them with a longer
top. And I just like them as kind of this easy breezy, like does the same thing as a linen pant,
but it just looks way more elevated. Now I really like this look. And I also just feel like this is
a trend that even whenever it's not on trend, it's still going to look good. And I am not opposed to
trying those taffeta pants. I just can't right now. But whenever the weather cools down, if I'm
still into it, those are looking beautiful. And especially in these bold colors like greens and
reds. One of the biggest trends of the 2020s, I like to say, is the elevated flats. We've seen
the Mary Janes come back, the ballet flats. And now we are seeing a ton of woven flats. And these
usually bring out some kind of strong reaction from people because there's people that hate these.
They're like, please let me never see a mesh ballet flat or whatever ever again.
I am on the other end of the spectrum. I kind of like them. I do. I did not like them at first. At
first I thought, what a ridiculous shoe. And then somewhere, I don't know if maybe it's because I
tried one and I liked it. Oh no, I know what it was. This is usually what happens. A friend of
mine had some on and I thought, oh my gosh, this looks so cute. Anyway, I just think it's a cute
look. And I think it's an easy one. It's a flat shoe, but you know, you definitely have to find
ones that feel good to your feet. The Sam Edelman flats are very comfortable for me.
The Cushionaire flats are really good as well. I have some that I've really enjoyed wearing and I
like these with like a longer pant. These are just such a cool looking shoe. In my opinion,
I like wearing it with more normal looking stuff, non-trendy stuff. And I love the way these look
with like a wide leg pant or a wide leg jean. Now there's one color that I think is the color
trend of the summer. I will say it's the sky blue, pastel blue, what other kind of blue? Soft
blue, icy blues. All the blues in that family have just been a really big trend for this summer. And
I like this because I love the color. It doesn't look great on me. I have to be careful here,
but I love the color. And I think it's a little bit more of a classic color. Although my personal
opinion on colors is any color can look great as long as it's in a current style. So I just
think it's a cool color. So real quick, an outfit that I really liked recently, and I told her,
but I had to go to a meeting a few weeks ago and one of the women there, she had on some barrel
khaki pants. I don't know how to describe it. They were barrel pants, but they were like in a
khaki color. She had a light blue, like sort of pinstriped button down. She had the sleeves
rolled up and then on her feet were these bright red velvet looking Mary Janes. It probably sounds
like whatever you're hearing, you're like, what in the world? But it was so cute. I love the whole
thing. It was such an unexpected shoe with that outfit. I love how she incorporated more of a
trending look with some classic elements. I just thought that was a really cool, interesting
outfit. This next one is not a trend that I jumped on and I had to find, well, I guess like everything,
I had to find a pair that I liked and I just had to play around with this and style it because I
just felt like it deserved my attention, but it's the Bermuda shorts and Bermuda shorts.
They were out of style for a very, very long time. And the Bermuda tailored short is basically
summer's answer to you want a more tailored polished look, but it's just hot. And so this
is a really great short for that. Now this is a trend that could easily look very classy.
It could easily combine with your more classic items. You can do a button down. I actually like
it more with like a fitted top or some kind of tank top or just something more minimal up top,
even a strapless, something like that. I think that balances out these Bermuda shorts really well,
but you can easily put this with, you know, a button down or something like that as well.
Now the Bermuda shorts that I do not like on myself, I need to give them a try because they
probably evolved since they first came out, which is when I tried them, but it's the Bermuda denim
shorts. I think they're cute on other people. And almost every single time I've seen them on
somebody else, I'm like, that looks so cute. They have the cutest outfit on, but on me, I just,
it, I look and feel like I had given up on life. I don't know what it is. I need to try them again.
I'm going to go shopping soon in New York city and I'm going to, maybe I'll try them again.
Maybe I'll convince myself that something I need. I doubt it, but it's always fun to like,
just give them a shot. A big trend that's happened for the last several years.
And I just don't think it's going anywhere for a long time. And you probably already even have one
and I just love them, but it's the vest pants suit. 100% of the time when I have come across
a woman wearing a vest pants suit, I have loved the way I just love her outfit. I just think it
looks so put together and polished, but it still looks feminine. It just makes sense to me. And so
I also love that you can take these two pieces apart, wear with other things. It's just a really
versatile suit. So I have one here from Reformation. You'll have to go back and
watch my video last week where I talked about working with a personal stylist. This is one
of the ones she found for me and I love it together, but of course I also love the pieces
apart. So as far as trends go, this is one of the more very long lasting ones. And I just think this
will really stand the test of time for a long time until who knows when. One thing I really
loved as we have moved into this era of everybody kind of noticing that they like a lot more natural
fabrics. They like to wear a lot more natural fabrics and they just kind of look at the quality
of their clothing a lot more. And so linen has come a long way. It just seems like it used to
be that linen only came in these big oversized kind of shapeless pieces. And now linen comes in
so many things. And now it just seems like linen comes in a wide variety of styles. And so the
trend I want to mention for our classic summer trends is the linen dress and not just a shapeless
linen dress. Although I love those too. I have one from Quince that I wear. It's like my get ready in
five seconds. I'm cool and uncomfortable, but I don't look like I just rolled out a bed dress.
It's been great for this summer, but there are so many cute linen dresses. Like for instance, this
one, I'm going to wear this one tonight. We are going to some kind of, I don't know what it is.
It's something that we've bought tickets for. It's like a speakeasy style murder mystery show. I don't
know. It sounds fun. And it's a cocktail attire and it's hot as crap outside. I mean, it's just
hot, hot, hot, humid, humid, humid. I won't even stick my head out there until it's time to go
because it'll just be like, anyway, linen dress, brown linen dress. Love this. So cute. It's kind
of got a little bit of ruching on the side. I love this for a summertime look. And this is
obviously one that it will still be here next summer. It's still going to look good next summer.
And I also love the colors that these are coming in as well. So there's just a lot of beautiful
colors in linen right now and a lot of beautiful linen dresses out there. And of course I will link
the ones that I'm showing you here. This next trend is one I have definitely talked before.
I've talked about it in videos where I've said, if you need ideas of what to put together when
you have five minutes to get dressed, but you need to look put together and you know,
you're scrambling through your closet, but it's an outfit featuring black and white and not black
pants and a white shirt. We're not going to our catering jobs, but flip that around white bottoms,
black top, or all white with black accessories. I love a beautiful white dress with like a black
shoe and a black bag. I think that just looks so stunning. This has been a trend, this black and
white look. There's dresses that have come about that are featuring the black and white color
blocking, but it's just such a timeless look. As long as it's in styles that are current and
modern, I just think it's such a great little outfit idea to have in the back of your head
that just works so well in so many different occasions. Another color trend, but it's just a
color that I have just really been loving for summer. It's definitely more on the classic,
classy side, more kind of a preppy vibe, if you will, but it also can be a little sexy.
It just checks so many boxes, but it's red. So reds have been a really big trend for summer.
You've probably seen lots of reds out there, and I love this as just a pop of red or as a red top
or as a red dress. And a lot of these reds combine really well with other colors like the pastel
blue, navy blue, and you can really pick and choose which red you want to go with. From the bright,
more poppy reds, there's the more orangey reds, there's the true reds. I just think these are so
beautiful. I just ordered this cashmere polo from Quince because I love these kinds of tops
from Quince. And I also feel like this red is going to sell out really fast, but I just think
this is so cute and so perfect whenever the weather starts getting a teeny bit cooler.
I just love this color. I think it's so fun. I also just got a baseball cap by Ralph Lauren.
I don't know why, but I'm really liking Ralph Lauren for the summer. I think I'm just really
liking this classy, classic kind of vibe right now. So this is obviously a color that will stand
the test of time. This isn't neon something where it's going to be around for a minute and gone the
next. So I think red is an easy color to get into and just make sure it's in a current style
and something that you like to wear. And I think it can be really fun. So those are some trends
that I think are classic, something you can build an outfit around without worrying that they are
just going to be out of style in a month. I think some of these trends will really be around for a
long time and they just work so well with a lot of the other clothes that you might already have
in your closet. So let me know what you think. Let me know if you've tried any of these trends
and make sure to check out Gingiberry. If that is something that sounds interesting to you,
I will leave the links below for Gingiberry and I will see you next time.
