Spain wins FIFA World Cup after beating Argentina

For over a month, soccer fever has taken over much of Southern California. It's been fun. It's been very energetic. Hopefully we get to host it again. I mean, I think the country showed out a lot. I'm from New York, so the final's happening there, so it's really interesting seeing it from this perspective, but it's great. A lot of different people here with different jerseys on, but it feels very collective and united. Sunday was no different. The final FIFA World Cup match of 2026 drawing hundreds to the fan zone in downtown Burbank to watch two powerhouse soccer teams face off on the biggest stage. Excited. I'm ready to see some football, some plays. I'm aiming for Spain, but if Argentina wins, it's fine. With many pulling for Argentina's Lionel Messi to secure back-to-back World Cup championships. He's a very good player. He has nice goals and stuff. And one of the great things about this year's World Cup is that it really brought about friendly rivalries between friends and family. Yeah, let's go! Go Messi! Argentina today, baby. Come on. Come on. España. Okay. You guys are friends, though? Yeah. Long-time friends. But after a lot of close goals, Spain ultimately took the win in extra time. It was a little boring. I was expecting a little bit more exciting game, but this is what it is. Great game. They held the ball, the whole possession, basically what everybody was expecting. Were you nervous, though, at the end? Absolutely. It's Messi. You always got it. It's Messi. It's two players in one. In downtown Burbank, Rachel Aragon, Fox 11 News.
