US Hides Entire Fighter Fleet Amid Massive Iranian Missile Barrage, Defence Systems Fail?

The United States appears to be moving valuable military aircraft away from Iran’s potential firing line. Flight-tracking reports indicate that at least four American aerial-refuelling tankers were transferred from Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base to Ovda in southern Israel, although the Pentagon has not confirmed that the movement constitutes an evacuation. Al Udeid—Washington’s largest military installation in West Asia—was also largely cleared of visible aircraft before Iran’s retaliatory strike in June 2025. Refuelling tankers are expensive and strategically vital, allowing American fighters and bombers to remain airborne across long-distance missions. Dispersing them reduces the danger of losing multiple aircraft in a single Iranian strike. Washington continues to emphasise the strength of its regional defences, but the latest military movements suggest that even its largest bases are no longer considered safely beyond Tehran’s reach.
