Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video tours a breathtaking $45 million \"modern mountain lodge\" estate in Rubicon Bay, Lake Tahoe. Spanning over five acres with 300 feet of private lake frontage, the 10,524-square-foot residence blends rustic craftsmanship with modern luxury, featuring high-end sustainable infrastructure and an architectural design that maximizes the stunning natural scenery.
Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful and special places in the world.
Maybe it's the crystal clear water, the towering pines, or the mountain backdrop.
But it's one of those places that never really loses its magic.
Once you experience this, it speaks to you so loudly with its beauty and its nature.
Here, it takes your breath away.
Set on more than five acres, with 300 feet of private lake frontage,
this $45 million estate is a rare offering to experience Lake Tahoe at its very best,
where the architecture and design embrace the landscape.
Paired with refined modern interiors, exquisite craftsmanship details,
exposed structural elements, and a natural material palette native to the area,
the home feels well-suited and true to Lake Tahoe itself.
The water is so powerful and moving.
You end up having these moments where you just stare at water for like 5-10 minutes without saying a word.
And I think that's the best way to express how the scenery makes you feel.
From the incredible grounds, to the beach with multiple piers,
to the views that follow you from room to room,
every part of this property is designed to celebrate the setting and the surrounding views.
Lake Tahoe is a place meant to be taken in, felt, and fully experienced.
Oh man, why do I do this every time?
So, let's go take a look.
Alright everyone, welcome to Rubicon Bay, California.
I always say it, and I'll say it again.
Lake Tahoe is so underappreciated.
This place is heaven on earth.
The lake, the surrounding mountains, and the raw green scenery here is truly breathtaking.
It's so peaceful, so quiet, so serene.
And even arrival to this home.
You go through this whiny road, surrounded with pine and aspen trees,
and the gates open up to this property, which is situated on 5.21 acres,
and you have lush grounds, privacy, this beautiful, mature landscape.
Now, the same driveway continues to the side of the property,
where we have additional parking and access to the three-car garage.
And over on this side, we have the entry to this home.
On the floors, we have bluestone.
And here, they use granite for this small retaining wall.
And this is also a material that they use throughout the home,
both on the outside and on the inside, native to the area.
I love that.
And then the steps transition to this flagstone walkway that takes you to the covered entry.
But while we're here, let's talk about the exterior footprint and the architecture of this home.
It spans about 240 feet.
So it's a pretty significant estate.
And the architecture features different styles.
I'm going to call it a modern mountain lodge.
And I say that because it has a lot of refined finishes and features.
But also, it has a lot of craftsman undertones,
such as exposed roof rafters, beams, these bulky columns and stonework.
And when it comes to the materials and the exterior finishes,
you can see the redwood shingle siding,
same granite installed as stack stone throughout,
high-pitched roof lines,
and most of the roof is covered with composite shingles.
But the lower sections are all standing seam copper roofing.
Copper is a timeless material that builds a beautiful patina over time,
a material that I genuinely really like.
And the standing seam, again, plays into the modern aesthetic of this home.
All of these elements, features, details coming together,
give this home a very distinct aesthetic.
And that's why I called it a modern mountain lodge.
Now, as we walk towards the covered entry,
you can see these beams that extend out.
And if you look closely, you will see a subtle gap in the center
because those are metal I-beams that are wrapped with wood.
And in order to connect those wood beams into the steel,
they drilled a bunch of holes and ran bolts through it.
It's a nice architectural element,
but ultimately, majority of this home was actually constructed out of steel,
which is amazing.
You get that structural strength.
It helps you to have big spans and openings,
especially for your sliding glass doors and windows
or to have grand spaces.
And the section that kicks out, that sits on the outside,
they fabricated these custom copper flashings that sit on top
with a lip detail so that water that sits on top
gently kicks away from these beams
and increases the longevity of both the I-beams
and the wood that are attached to it.
Nicely executed.
Then over here, we have these bulky stone columns,
again, wrapped in granite.
Over here, you can see the metal plate that sits in the column.
And that's actually a knife that goes through the wood beam here.
And that's why they drilled two holes and ran these bolts through it
so that the stone footer is connected to the beam here.
Wood sitting directly on concrete or stone
is not the best thing, even if it's treated.
So creating some separation between the stone itself and the wood
by installing the metal plate here
both increases the longevity of the beam
and it also helps distribute the weight of the column
and connects it to the footer even better.
And they have quirky features and craftsmanship details like this
throughout the home.
Hats off to the development team.
They've done a great job.
It was built in 2017, so it's almost 10 years old,
but it aged so well and it's in immaculate condition.
Now, coming over to this section,
same granite continues, stone planters,
beautiful casement and trim work with grid windows.
And we have the door opening up to the foyer.
Let's go inside.
The moment you walk in, first thing you see is the lake.
And here's what I like about this view.
Our proximity.
We're not too far from the lake,
but we're also not right on the water.
So it's just the right amount.
You can still enjoy the grounds, the scenery,
these beautiful trees, and of course, Lake Tahoe.
And here we have the former living room with vaulted ceilings,
all these tall doors and windows,
ton of natural light coming in.
I mean, what a grand space.
And before we go into detail,
I want to quickly talk about the specs.
We have six bedrooms plus a kid's bunk room,
six full two half baths,
approximately 10,524 square feet of interior space,
plus a three car garage.
And this home is on the market for $45 million.
I want to give big thanks to the listing agent,
Jenny Fairchild, for making this tour possible.
As always, you can find more information
about this gorgeous estate
in the description of this video.
Make sure to check it out.
Now with that, let's talk about this cozy seating area.
Most of the furniture here,
and in the rest of the home,
is all from restoration hardware.
I have to point out this tree trunk side table here.
Nice touch.
Beautiful marble coffee tables in the center.
And on the other side, a cozy fireplace.
They brought the same granite stack stone,
but to frame the fireplace,
they used marble with a stone mantle.
And of course, the room opens up to the grounds.
This cozy patio that's right outside
with the same blue stone that we saw on the exterior.
We have an oversized exterior door to the left,
these massive picture windows.
That way, this view, this scenery,
comes right into your formal living room
and becomes part of the entry experience.
This is awesome.
And that fire pit outside,
I mean, this is as dreamy as it gets.
Now I want to pull back for a second
because I want to talk about the ceiling design here.
First off, right above the beams,
there are beams that are running the length of the room
and then the wood plank ceiling.
Normally, we don't see those beams
that run the length of the room.
That just gives additional dimension
and depth to the ceiling.
Now, instead of your traditional roof trusses
where we have the lower piece,
they've actually left the center section open
and used these tension rods.
Ahmad, do you see the piece
that's right in the middle of the metal?
Yes, I saw it.
Those are turnbuckles.
As you turn them,
it pulls both metal rods to each other.
So it tightens.
So you can build enough pressure
to make sure that this triangular design
is nice and strong.
Oh, that's cool.
Does that make sense?
That's why it goes through the beam.
And in order to keep the center section open,
they've used additional beams
and then ran these two beams
from the lower section of the main roof beam
and then bolted it through
to create this support system.
That way, when the roof sits like this,
because the span is so big,
they don't want these beams to sag.
So the center support section here
and the tension rod that's right in the center
keeps this triangular frame sturdy and strong
and it creates this beautiful aesthetic.
It's like a bunch of craftsmen came together,
built this home by hand.
So there's this raw primal aesthetic in this room
with these exposed beams,
the bolts, the tongue and groove ceiling design
and the granite with the fireplace.
I love it.
So well executed.
Timeless room.
Now, right behind Armand,
we have a powder room
for this part of the property.
And the hallway here
takes us to the kitchen and the family room.
It's a one big open space,
easy access to the outdoors,
really unique ceiling design
that I'll talk about in a second.
But first, let's cover the details of the kitchen.
Oversized island right in the center
with a marble countertop
that's bookmatched in the center.
Your bar seating,
shaker cabinetry throughout.
We have the dry pantry space here
with these oversized handles
and exposed hinges
to lean into the traditional aesthetic of this home.
Let's not forget the chalkboard here.
And then on the other side,
Sub-Zero commercial fridge
is nicely recessed into the cabinetry
with a glass front.
This is definitely one of my favorite refrigerators
and it compliments an aesthetic like this so well.
Wolf built-in appliance.
And then over on this side,
we have our gas range.
Vent is nicely tucked into the cabinetry.
Subway tile with this flat finish.
And I like how the marble countertop
is also incorporated here
as a little shelf design.
Now this is super cool.
Viking Tuscany gas range.
I love the hardware.
The corner trim.
These polished handles.
I mean, it's a piece of art
that lives in your kitchen
that also functions as your gas stove.
Looks beautiful.
And continuing this way, let's see.
Oh, these are drawers.
Dishwasher is nicely paneled in.
Definitely good size island
with pendant lights above.
And then we have our main farmhouse sink
with a massive picture window
framing this iconic view.
This is mesmerizing.
The outdoor patio,
the grounds,
beautiful trees,
and the lake.
And then we have casements on each side
with built-in screens
so you can open them up,
ventilate your kitchen,
get that fresh air into this home.
I mean, it would be amazing to just cook
and entertain in this kitchen.
This is amazing.
And this home is so well-built.
I know I talked about the exposed hardware,
but I like that they notched the cabinetry nicely,
recessed in the hardware
so it's not oversized.
It's very subtle,
sits outside
and creates a nice contrast.
Now, going to the other side,
we have our informal dining area.
Solid wood table.
I think you can certainly opt
for a bigger table here as well.
Gorgeous light fixture above
anchoring the space,
defining the dining area.
And then we have the French doors here
opening up to the patio.
Pretty seamless transition.
I like the vaulted ceiling here
with exposed beams,
tongue and groove paneling.
And it's also where they're housing
their recessed in lights,
built-in speakers.
And of course,
we also have the tension rods.
They use a lot of steel I-beams
throughout the home
and these oversized wooden beams
and columns.
And I think they've done a tasteful job
merging these materials together
to make sure the home doesn't come across
industrial and maybe too musculine.
But at the same time,
the steel elements are nicely exposed
throughout the home.
Now here we have our cozy family room,
comfortable couches,
the chairs,
oversized coffee table,
TV with additional built-ins.
And a true seamless transition
to the outdoors.
Patio,
the proximity of the grounds
is so enticing.
I mean,
I just want to walk outside
and be part of the experience
and immediately connect to the landscape
and the lake.
Beautiful.
Now,
before we leave the room,
of course,
I have to quickly talk about
our brand new art.
As you all know,
we make all natural ingredient candles.
We don't use any chemicals,
petroleum byproducts.
I truly believe in the philosophy
of less is more.
In consuming products
that are made with natural,
real ingredients.
And that's why our candles
are made with natural soy wax,
a little bit of beeswax
and essential oils.
That's pretty much it.
We have a few scents.
I hope you'll get a chance
to try them out.
I want to thank each and every one of you
that have supported us,
bought our candles,
keep buying our candles.
It means the world to me
and it's a way for you guys
to support what we do,
traveling all around the world
and bringing these assets,
these experiences to all of you.
Again, appreciate your support.
Visit us at newarehome.com.
And with that,
let's continue our tour.
Now, at the end of this hallway,
we have the primary bedroom suite.
We're going to tour that last.
And there's a hallway here
that leads you to a storage closet,
spacious laundry room.
Steps take you up to the mud room
and the door at the end
opens up to the three car garage.
Next to the former living room,
we have this amazing indoor outdoor space.
I'm going to call it the sunroom.
We have picture windows on this side
with casements down below
facing the hallway
that takes you to the right wing.
And there are windows here
because they want to benefit
from this massive opening
and make sure that
the natural light that comes in
is distributed throughout the home.
Instead of the French white oak hardwood floors
that we saw on the main floor,
here we have the blue stone
because it's partially an outdoor space.
Accordion doors nicely pocket in,
beautiful beam ceilings,
a cozy seating section.
This is also all outdoor furniture,
by the way,
since the room is exposed to the outdoors.
And this is the other side of the fireplace
in the former living room.
So you get another fireplace
with a stone bottom
and a wood mantle,
cozy, warm,
and just seamless transition
to the patio
that connects the entire main floor
and direct access to your grounds.
I really like this space.
If I lived here,
I feel like I would use this space all the time.
They say you go into the lake,
you're coming back,
your feet are wet.
You can walk in this space comfortably.
You're not gonna damage anything.
But at the same time,
during winter,
you can close off the accordion doors,
still have the fireplace on
and have this cozy outdoor feel.
I really like the space
and also the two games here,
Connect Four and Clue.
Apparently this is a murder mystery game.
I've never heard of it before.
I have to look that up.
But everyone, let's get a closeup.
It's like three-dimensional.
Look how well this thing is designed.
It's different.
It's super cool.
This is a great space,
but we got a lot more to see.
Now this is the hallway
that takes you to the right wing.
But first,
we gotta check out this space.
A temperature controlled wine cellar
that can hold up to 700 bottles.
Conveniently located
all for the entry.
Beautiful millwork throughout.
And I love the fact
that the bottom sections here
are all casement.
So you can open them up,
allow the fresh air
and this amazing Lake Tahoe air
into the space.
And even here,
they have proper squeeze
for bugs and insects.
Nicely done.
And what a moment to enjoy.
To my left,
I can see the lake.
To my right,
beautiful grounds,
mature trees.
Now continuing this way,
we have the landing
for the staircase.
It's a nice open room.
Same hardwood floors,
built-ins on this side.
I mean,
the millwork in this property,
these tall baseboards,
the trims,
the wood paneling
and how every single pen nail holes
have been filled
and painted
to give this smooth,
quality,
polished aesthetic.
It's impressive.
And I like the light color change
with the steps,
how they carried out
the same hardwood floors
into the staircase design,
including the hand railing.
And this section is also vaulted open.
We have so many picture windows
on this side.
The greenery
and the surroundings
just come in to this room.
Now here,
we have few rooms
that I want to talk about.
First to our right,
massage table right in the center,
some built-ins,
picture windows
and nice view
of the lake.
Now you may ask
why there's a massage room here.
Well,
on the other side,
we have the gym.
Great room.
Some techno gym equipment,
TV,
yoga mats,
all these casement windows.
And again,
I'm happy that they're casement.
You want to open these up
and you want what's outside
to come right in.
There's also
a very tasteful bathroom here.
I like how they use
the same blue stone
even for the bathroom.
Concrete countertop here
with a built-in sink
and a hidden drain
with paneling on the walls.
This beautiful
chrome rectangular mirror.
Stunning.
It's like,
it's out of a
antique sailboat.
I love it.
There's a separate water closet.
All these windows are frosted
because it opens up
to the patio, right?
And I want to quickly
step out
because not only
do we have some
lounging beds here,
there's also a jacuzzi.
Easy access to your grounds.
If you want to work out,
go for a little dip.
You can certainly do that.
Just look at my backdrop.
It's nearly impossible
to be not happy
in this place.
Lake Tahoe
is definitely underrated.
Now coming back
to the hallway.
Again, more picture windows.
A built-in seating area here
just to bring this
exterior setting
more into this experience.
And I want to point out
something else.
If you look at
the beautiful
wood plank ceilings,
you will not see
any AC diffusers.
And I was wondering,
I'm like,
they have the ceiling height.
I bet they had
the ceiling space
to run all of their
air conditioning units,
the duct work
into the ceilings.
The entire house
sits on a
three foot
crawl space,
meaning
the house is
three feet elevated
from the ground
and there's enough
crawl space down below
to run all of your
air conditioning ducts.
Sewer lines,
water lines,
plumbing lines,
electrical work.
And what's so great
about having a space like that
is that in the future,
if you want to service anything,
if any of your
plumbing lines fails,
no matter how big
the footprint
of this home is,
you can easily
go down there,
repair anything
very easily.
And that's why
the AC diffusers
are actually
nicely resistant
to the flooring.
And you can see
the grills here
and they even
fabricated the grills
out of the same
French oak.
Just so it blends in.
We have the first
guest suite here.
Definitely spacious room.
King size bed,
nicely furnished,
cozy
with this rustic rug.
I appreciate
these oversized windows.
You want to retain
this traditional aesthetic,
but you want to make sure
you make the best
of the scenery.
And they have
certainly accomplished that.
And the proportions
make sense.
It's such a fine line
to build a traditional home
and have these
modern elements
or oversized windows
and pocketing doors
and accordion doors,
but they've incorporated
them nicely.
And yeah,
this is what you wake up to.
Walk-in closet.
Of course,
there's also
a full bathroom here
with cement tiles.
I love the tub.
Oversized built-in,
same subway tiling
is used on this section
and a beautiful
Carrara marble top.
Beautiful vanity.
And the same marble
is nicely worked
into the walk-in shower
as well
with polished chrome fixtures.
At the end of the hallway,
we have
one of the bigger
guest suites.
This one also comes
with a king size bed.
I like
the two windows
that are placed
above the bed.
You get to enjoy
these trees
and the mounds
on the back,
but it still
retains the privacy
of the room.
There's a nice
built-in desk
with additional storage,
more bay windows.
It's a good size room
and it comes
with its own patio
as well.
It'd be a dream
to wake up
in this bedroom,
walk outside
every single day
and get that view
to hit you
in the face.
Now,
here we have
our full bathroom.
Tile work here
is pretty playful.
The circular pattern
and then
a Crawford tub
that's painted
on the outside,
glazed on the inside.
Traditional
tub filler
with a handheld,
more casement windows
and a glass-enclosed
corner walk-in shower.
And I like
how they use
the Carrara marble
in certain sections,
the built-in bench,
the sill,
the side wall here
and used it
to case
the entire opening
for the circular window.
You know what's so great
about this window placement?
You just get the view,
perfect eyesight,
but no one sees you.
Or if they do,
you're just gonna
see your head.
So you can retain
your privacy.
Don't worry about
closing off the window here.
And of course,
we have our vanity
on the other side.
Two sinks.
Mirrors are
nicely recessed
into the wall.
Waterworks fixtures
and even
waterworks
wall sconces.
I actually didn't know
that waterworks
makes wall sconces.
It was in the spec sheet.
And your walk-in closet.
Beautiful home.
Now let's check out
the grounds.
This patio
runs the length
of the property.
Almost every single room
on the first floor
opens up to this section.
Same blue stone
and granite throughout.
And Elmwood
is currently on a bridge
that connects this section
to the primary
bedroom terrace.
It's framed
with two steel beams
that's underneath
the decking.
And then over here,
you can see the granite boulders,
the rock landscaping
and of course,
the rain chains.
I had to point them out.
Now coming back
to this section,
to our left,
we have the built-in
barbecue area
with a gas grill,
pizza oven,
all wrapped
with the same granite,
including the mantel.
There's also
storage area here
for all of your wood.
At the end,
you can see the coverage section,
the outdoor dining area.
But first,
I want to quickly
point out
the redwood
shingles siding
that we've been seeing
throughout the home.
Emma, do you know
how they install
the siding?
I don't know
and I don't have an idea.
You want a little lesson?
Yes, absolutely.
All right.
So you start
from the bottom row
and you install
your shingles
flat directly
onto the surface,
right?
And then
each layer
that you built
goes over the seam
so that the layer
that you put on top
covers the seam
and the seam
that's exposed
down below
is covered by
the seam
that's underneath.
So you start
from the bottom row,
stack it on top
and you stagger it.
That's how you can afford
to have these little gaps
to make sure
that the water
doesn't go
into your walls.
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
These planks
look like they're
about eight inches,
right?
They're double the size.
They go underneath
and because
they're overlapping
that's how you hide
all the nails.
So when you look
it's very natural,
there are no fasteners,
there are no metal trim work
and at the same time
it's waterproof.
It looks great too.
And some of you
may ask,
well what happens
to the bottom row
because you're not stacking?
The bottom row
generally has a metal
flashing behind it.
That's how you make sure
to cover the little gaps
and bottom row
is generally
installed very tightly
to each other
to make sure
hardly any water
gets there.
Siding 101.
Thank you.
Of course.
Now,
let's come over
to this section,
outdoor dining area.
This is where we had
our lunch earlier.
Lovely space.
The bar here
is super cool.
Put your drink,
have your sandwich,
drink your coffee,
get your day started.
I'm gonna be speechless
throughout the talk.
It's so beautiful.
All right,
over here
we have the door
opening up
from the former living room.
Stone case
oversized fire pit.
I just love the granite.
It's durable.
It's native.
It compliments the landscape.
It's kind of timeless.
Just a cozy moment to enjoy.
And I love that it's right
on the other side
of the former living room.
Imagine having your friends
and family over
enjoying the scenery
not only during summer
but also in winter.
When you have
this much heat
and fire,
you can certainly
be comfortable here.
I love it.
All right,
now let's quickly
go to the other side.
This is our sunroom.
Again,
opens up to the outdoors.
Same floors transition in.
There are also
built-in screens
that are nicely attached
into the wall.
And I like
how those screens
are not messing with
the aesthetic of the home.
They're incorporated
into the walls.
I'm gonna look
above the window
trims.
They also have
little copper flashings
just to protect
those little trims.
And the same terrace
actually goes
all the way
to the gym
and that's where we have
the first
built-in jacuzzi.
All right,
now,
I'm gonna take you down
so we can check out
the grounds.
This property
is truly magical.
And given that
it's situated on
5.21 acres,
you have so much
outdoor space.
Green grass,
all these mature trees,
mostly pine and aspen.
And all you wanna do
is just walk around
and take it all in.
And given
the linear footprint
of the home,
it's nice that you're
really capitalizing
on the grounds
and also the 300 feet
of frontage.
Again, we have
the primary bedroom
on this side
on a wing of its own.
And if you wrap
around this section,
it takes you to
the three-car garage.
If you wanna throw events,
have, honestly,
even couple thousand
people here,
you can easily
accommodate them,
open up all the doors
and just entertain
and celebrate life.
And I know
this frame here
is quite picturesque
and kind of dreamy,
but I have to put it to work.
So,
it goes nothing.
I'll fall asleep here
no problem.
Give me like 10 minutes.
Sun is hitting my face.
It's warm.
The sound, the air.
Armand, don't leave me now.
I still have to...
I wanted to show
the lake too.
This is Enes right now.
I know.
I just wanna
grab a book,
read,
and fall asleep here.
That would be
the dream scenario.
Amazing.
I mean,
we got work to do.
We have so much
to cover still.
I'm gonna continue.
And here's the thing.
Normally,
you'll be happy
with owning a property
with one or two
mature trees.
And here,
you probably get
a couple hundred,
which is absolutely wild.
That's the beauty
of Lake Tahoe.
These are all native trees.
And it's part
of the experience
and one of the aspects
of Lake Tahoe
that I really respect.
They're all about
preserving nature here.
And most of the homes
are really built
around the landscape,
protecting
and maintaining the land.
The other thing
that I've talked about earlier
that's really important
are proximity
to the water.
We toured some properties
in Lake Tahoe before
where the estate itself
is a little bit
set back from the water.
You still have grounds
and can enjoy the scenery,
but you're a little bit
disconnected to the water.
I feel like
for a traditional
Lake Tahoe home,
this property
walks that line perfectly.
You're set back enough
to have privacy
and still enjoy the grounds
from the interiors.
But at the same time,
you do see the water.
You're pretty close to it.
It's part of your experience
no matter where you are
at the property.
And you certainly don't need
to build fence holes here
because all you have to do
is just keep the trees in place
and you have perfect separation
from the neighboring property.
And let's show this real quick.
I mean,
this is as picturesque
as it gets.
French doors opening up,
cute little patio,
nicely covered,
bulky columns,
peak roof line,
trees framing the experience
and then taking you
to the beach.
So this is really interesting.
There's a cabana here
that was grandfathered in
with a rooftop.
What a view!
300 feet of furniture,
beautiful sandy beach,
crystal clear water,
two piers
and Lake Tahoe.
All for you to enjoy
with the surrounding mountains.
For sure,
one of the most beautiful places
in the United States.
Hands down.
I've been coming to Lake Tahoe
for the last five years.
I'm loving it more and more
each trip I come.
It's so beautiful,
natural.
The water is so powerful
and moving.
You end up having these moments
where you just stare at water
for like five, ten minutes
without saying a word.
And I think that's the best way
to express how the scenery
makes you feel.
You want to get on your boat?
You want to go kayaking?
Stand a paddle?
I mean,
you name the activity.
You want to go ski?
You can do that during winter.
You can enjoy the lake.
In a very condensed area,
it offers so much.
But enough talking.
Let's go see the beach.
A moment of silence.
That's Lake Tahoe for you.
And here,
on this side of the lake,
there are only 16
biggest states like this
that are on the water.
That exclusivity
is extremely important
and really part of the price.
And the water itself?
I mean, you've got a sandy beach.
You can see the bottom
all the way out.
Now this property
comes with two piers.
This is the first one.
90 feet long.
And this is actually shared
with the next door property.
I love it.
Look at them out there.
People are wakeboarding,
enjoying the lake.
So here's another interesting fact.
Currently,
the lake level is high
because all the snow
from the mountains
are melting.
That's why,
let's get a close-up.
This section
and the other section
of the pier
is currently under the water.
Oh, that's why.
Yeah.
And over time,
as the snow melts
and water evaporates,
this deck will come above water.
You can think of this
as your pier for swimming.
Casual, easygoing,
makes it easy for you
to go for a little dive,
which I'm hoping to do
tomorrow morning first thing.
And I just cannot
wrap my head around
how clear the water is.
This is for sure
the best waterfront setting
we've seen on Lake Tahoe yet.
And also,
the last few years,
a lot of billionaires
have been buying in Lake Tahoe.
And the reasons are very simple.
First off,
it's very close to San Francisco,
Silicon Valley,
and in Northern California.
Second,
during summer,
you get the lake,
you get the water experience,
and during winter,
you can ski
all within the same place.
Third,
a lot of the waterfront estates
are on big acreages
and they're nicely
set into the landscape
so you can still
retain your privacy
while having a lakefront home.
I mean, from the water,
you can barely see this home,
especially if you're far out.
Then there's the scenery.
I always say
Lake Tahoe is one of the
most beautiful places
in the United States.
So living in a place
that's so naturally beautiful,
safe,
with these kind of estates,
that's hard to come by.
And that's why
so many billionaires
have been acquiring
these legacy estates.
If I was a billionaire,
I would totally buy
a home in Lake Tahoe.
This is a property
that needs to be cherished,
experienced,
and enjoyed.
I mean,
imagine having
a couple hundred people here
on the beach,
on their lounging chairs,
listening to the sound
of the water,
on their kayaks,
on their jetboards,
on their boats.
Now this is the second pier
dedicated to this property only,
150 feet long,
with a boat lift at the end.
The water color
is just mesmerizing.
How is this even real?
Oh man,
it is very cold.
Oh, it's so good.
I don't feel my feet.
It's so cold.
That's the Lake Tahoe for you.
The water is so good.
It's so refreshing.
God, it's so clear.
Like, I just want to go
right back in.
Definitely recommend.
You don't need to buy
a $45 million home
to enjoy Lake Tahoe.
These are all steel poles
pushed into the ground,
and then they use steel
to fabricate the pier system,
and then use Ipe decking,
and that's how you end up
with a pier.
Now, Armand, do you see
this section is actually
still above the water?
Yeah.
And then, of course,
the boat lift.
And I'm sure in the future
if you want to add
jet ski lifts
or other boat lifts,
you can certainly do that.
I just want to...
That's insane, yeah.
I know.
Honestly, it reminds me
of Turkey.
Our coastline and water
is as clear as this,
and this is also fresh water.
Like, perfect.
Nothing is going to rust.
Easy to maintain.
And then on the other side
is the home,
and this is what I mean
by the privacy.
You can hardly see the estate.
It's buried into the trees.
A private beach,
two piers,
300 feet of pristine
lake frontage,
and we're here
at Rubicon Bay,
which is centrally located
near Bliss State Park
and Emerald Bay.
Emerald Bay is also stunning.
And Rubicon Bay
is really known
as the Gold Coast
of Lake Tahoe
because of its sandy beaches,
its beautiful,
accessible coastline
where you don't have
big granite boulders,
and you can utilize
the lakeside
a little bit easier
than some of the other
parts of the lake.
Beautiful, crystal clear water,
and of course,
you have a lot of legacy
lakefront estates here,
and we're arguably touring
one of the best ones
here in Lake Tahoe.
You know,
I want to say one thing.
Sometimes I question
the prices of the houses.
I'm like...
The ones that we toured.
Yeah, sometimes, you know,
I'm like, 35,
maybe, maybe not.
But this one,
45?
Yes.
If I'm a billionaire,
I'm buying this.
It's funny because
I do feel the same way.
Between the acreage,
five plus acres,
furniture,
how you have
a sandy beach,
two piers,
10,000 square foot home,
just the right amount
given the scale of the land.
Meaning,
it's not too big.
It's not also
too small either.
And the fact that
you have the opportunity
to build additional
25,000 square feet
of additional buildings,
guest homes,
and garages,
and et cetera.
The opportunity is there.
Rarity is there.
Location is great.
Water access
is as good as it gets
for a legacy home.
I do agree that
$45 million price tag
is really attractive.
It makes sense on the paper.
And I think the home
is so well done.
And if you want
to personalize it,
we can change the wall colors
and add a few things
and really make it your own.
But just the way it is,
how it's all furnished,
ready to be enjoyed,
and the entire thing,
what you see
is part of the offering here,
is pretty attractive.
It's really hard
to leave Lake Tahoe
and go somewhere else.
Once you experience this,
even if you're
not a nature person,
it speaks to you so loudly
with its beauty
and its nature.
It takes your breath away.
It's genuinely mesmerizing.
So I know for a fact
that the property
has solar panels,
but it also has
a pickleball court.
And I have no idea
where it is.
We're going to find out.
This is serious infrastructure.
Massive steel columns
holding up
all of these solar panels
above ground.
The system is also adjustable,
so you can change the direction
to increase the output level
of the solar panels.
At its peak,
it can produce
up to 44,000 watts.
And to give you some reference,
I can easily cover
the main electrical need
of this property
and even be able to charge
a few electrical cars.
And back when they built
this home in 2017,
this system here
cost them $1.5 million.
So in today's money,
it would be roughly
$2 million
of infrastructure investment,
which is pretty significant.
Back when they built this home,
they didn't have
Tesla batteries.
But now you can install
Tesla batteries
into your garage
and retain all of this
electricity production
and really cover
majority of your
electricity needs.
This home also uses
geothermal heating
and cooling,
which covers 70%
of all of your
cooling and heating needs.
It's all natural.
And again,
it was part of
the infrastructure investment
they made
back when they built
this home.
And you still have
so much surface area
for additional solar panels
and add whatever
other utilities
amenities that you want.
You see, it wasn't too bad.
We can find it.
Yeah, we found it.
Yeah.
I mean,
you can do so much more.
A mini motocross track,
tennis court,
basketball court,
pool area,
indoor pool,
additional guest house,
auxiliary buildings,
garage spaces,
and a pickable court.
I play pickable
in so many different courts.
This has to be
one of the best.
Surrounded with trees,
full privacy,
really an awesome property.
Like the lake tower
is already such
a strong location.
The scenery here
is so beautiful,
naturally beautiful.
Nothing really artificial.
It's all mother nature.
And then these homes
on big plots,
they just have a type
of feel that's hard
to replicate.
Like just arriving
to this motor court,
it's as picturesque
as it gets.
And the lifestyle offering here.
During winter,
you get all the winter activities,
skiing, snow,
colder climate.
During summer,
amazing lake,
sandy beach.
All of the water activities
that you can think of,
you can do here.
Including windsurfing
and kite surfing,
by the way.
During summer,
drive your convertible.
During winter,
drive your big SUV.
Have everything in between.
And you get
a proper summer too.
Like it's so warm.
We're shooting this episode
in May.
It's one of those locations
where God truly blessed
Lake Tahoe.
And I really respect the fact
that the community here,
the surrounding cities,
the states,
are all about protecting
this landscape.
And they should.
It's something to be cherished.
And you don't have to have
a $45 million
to enjoy Lake Tahoe.
You can also take a trip here.
Come and enjoy it yourself.
But having five acres
all to yourself,
with these kind of grounds,
access to the water,
and an estate
that's over 10,000 square feet,
with so many bedrooms,
common spaces.
This is chef's kiss.
This is a unique offering.
All right.
Welcome to the second floor.
It's bright, open,
vaulted ceiling here.
These gorgeous plastic chandeliers
with industrial light bulbs.
And this space
gets a ton of natural light
thanks to the picture windows.
You can actually look down
to the landing
on the first floor.
Millwork looks great.
Now, like I said,
on this level,
we have four bedroom suites.
Well, technically,
three guest suites
and a bunk room.
This is the first guest suite.
Comes with a king-size bed.
Same French white oak
hardwood floors.
Great ceiling height.
Warm, cozy.
And of course,
I'm immediately drawn
to this section
where we have
two picture windows.
Casements on each side.
Frames the lake.
I like that you can also see
the standing seam copper roof.
Gives this room
a more cozier feel.
And then the grounds,
the lake.
Beautiful.
Now, on the back,
we have a full bathroom
that comes with a built-in tub,
walk-in shower,
beautiful vanity.
They, again,
use the same Carrara marble.
The bathrooms in this house
are so nicely done.
Now, on the other side,
we have the kids' bunk room.
This is so queen.
It warms my heart.
Built-in bed frames.
With storage underneath.
Single beds.
Reading light.
Shiplap wall paneling.
I like how they brought
the gray into these sections
as well.
Little open shelving.
Ton of pillows.
Toys.
So cute.
So warm.
If you look above,
you have picture windows
that faces the landing.
That way,
they are taking all
of the natural light
and bringing it
to this room as well.
Massive TV.
Built-in seating area.
Kids' table.
Amazing room
that's designed for the kids.
And I really appreciate
the vaulted ceilings here.
And again,
these exposed roof truss systems.
Now, we also have
French doors here.
Opening up to a balcony.
And you get
straight view of the lake.
This is also
the furthest point of the home
that's closest to the lake.
So you can actually see
both wings from here.
That's the patio
outside of formal living room.
Outdoor dining area.
So you can interact with
all of the exterior spaces
from here.
And that's the outdoor patio
by the spa.
And also,
given that we're
on the second floor,
our view is
a little bit more open.
This is lovely.
We left these French doors
open all day.
This fresh air
comes straight
into the house.
And you can hear the trees.
What else do you need?
Now, the hallway here,
just like the first floor,
takes you to
two more guest suites.
Again,
they placed the hallway
towards the backside
of the property.
But even here,
your view is
pretty fantastic
with the surrounding trees,
the standing seam roof.
And again,
you can see
all the patina
that's built up.
But it compliments
the warm aesthetic
of this property.
All right.
Guest suite number three.
This one comes
with a queen size bed,
a really nice bathroom.
Again, with a built-in tub,
corner walk-in shower,
floating vanity design
with a marble countertop,
and a view
of the lake.
Now, just like
the first floor,
the bedroom at the end
is the biggest
on this level.
You can think of it
as your second day
junior primary bedroom suite.
King size bed
with this massive
casement window
on the back.
Great light coming in.
And more importantly,
what an awesome view.
You're facing
the mountain
that's behind us,
all these trees,
and no one can see in.
So it's well positioned.
And the millwork here,
tall baseboards
with a trim above,
all the casements
around the windows.
It's a cozy space.
And of course,
it faces the lake.
These bedrooms
are definitely great size,
even oversized to a point.
10,000 square feet,
they've actually packed a lot.
Six bedrooms
plus the kids' bunk room.
So many different
common spaces.
Almost everything
on the first floor
opens up to the grounds.
And even on the second floor,
with these oversized
windows and doors,
you're still engaged
with the lake.
I really like that.
Now, let me show you
the bathroom here in detail.
Cement tiles,
another cloth with tub
that's painted on the outside
with chrome fixtures here.
Casement windows,
shiplap wall paneling
just to lean into
that rustic aesthetic.
Good size corner shower,
of course with a casement.
I like how intentional
they were
with their windows
in this home.
When you're building
a traditional estate like this,
you may struggle
with your window positionings
to honor the exterior architecture.
But somehow,
they made it work
with this home
where these windows
are so intentionally positioned.
And a lot of them are casements,
meaning you can open them up
and really allow
that exterior feeling
to come into the home.
Tastefully done.
And I like how they brought
the marble in these certain areas,
whether it's the window casement,
the shampoo niche,
or the sill
around the walk-in shower.
And then we have
our vanity here,
old cabinetry,
waterworks fixtures,
and your separate water closet.
A lot of home.
Welcome to
the primary bedroom suite.
Come on in.
Same white oak hardwood floors.
Scale is fantastic.
Opens up to its own patio.
King size bed here.
And we've been talking
about these
intentionally placed windows.
There's one right above
the headboard
with its own blackout.
Perfect view
of the scenery
and the mountain
that's on the back.
All these lush trees.
And then over here,
we have a small seating area.
This is what
this property
is all about.
Waking up in the morning
and sitting down here
and enjoying this view.
I love it.
I love that we have
a French door
right in the center
that opens up
to the private patio.
This is also
a two-story
primary bedroom suite.
We'll see the second floor
in a second.
Now, as we walk out,
we have lounging chairs.
It's actually
a good-sized patio
with its own hot tub.
And you can also
access to this section
from the primary bathroom
as well.
And I appreciate
how the primary bedroom
sits on the very end
of the left wing
by itself,
but still connects
to the main patio as well.
And yeah,
this is what you wake up to
every single day.
Now,
over on the other side,
we have our full bathroom.
Again, the flagstone floors.
Bathroom here
is also heated.
Two vanities,
modern cabinetry
with a towel rack
on the bottom.
I'm on the countertops here.
Our old concrete.
It looks like quartzite,
but it was probably
poured in place
with hidden drain,
chrome fixture.
And I also like
how they use the same concrete
as a built-in
shelving design here.
And then we have
subway tiles
going up all the way
to the ceiling
and these chrome
cool sconces.
Now, Armand,
I have a question for you.
When I saw these sconces,
I thought
they were supposed
to look down.
You see how the vase
is looking up?
But I thought
the designer here
thought that it was
a cool idea
to face them up.
But then I realized
they were supposed
to look like this.
How do you think
I figured that out?
Um...
I'm looking around.
I don't know.
There is a caution sticker
inside the sconce,
and it's actually
facing this direction.
Oh.
If it was upside down,
you wouldn't be able
to read it.
Okay.
Interesting.
I thought they were
supposed to look down.
But anyways,
adorns the mirror nicely.
And I love
the concrete countertops here.
And guess what?
The freestanding tub
is also out
of the same concrete.
They probably
had a mold.
It's probably
the same company
that built
the vanities
that also built
the tub.
Perfectly frames
the opening.
Gorgeous chandelier above.
View of the lake.
Your hot tub outside.
And your exterior door.
So you can go
to your hot tub
directly.
And a towel holder
that's also heated.
It's important.
It's a lake towel.
It gets cold.
You do want
your towels to be warm
when you get out
of the shower.
Beautiful.
Nicely done.
Now,
over on the other side,
we have
the walk-in shower.
I like
the steel case door here.
There we go.
Same subway towel
goes in.
And they use
the concrete here
also for the niche
as well as the bench.
This is what they've been doing
throughout the bathrooms.
Yeah.
They use subway towels
and then they pick a stone
and incorporate it
nicely to the vanity
and some of the trim details.
But the circular window here
is a little bit bigger.
But also a perfect view.
Showering here.
Straight view of the lake.
You can't stop
showering here.
No, you just stay
in the shower.
Yeah, you can stop there.
Beautiful.
Just beautiful.
And around the corner,
we have the water closet
and all these picture windows
to capture what's outside
and the greenery.
It's pretty surreal
to get a view like this
from your bathroom.
And that's not it
for the primary bedroom.
I really wasn't expecting
a loft this size
on this level.
The vaulted ceilings,
the amount of natural light
that comes in
from all directions.
The cozy seating area there
with built-ins.
Quite picturesque.
And the amount of seclusion
you get here.
Again, not only
the primary bedroom
has its own wing.
You're on the second floor
properly secluded
from the house
and the main spaces.
So you can come here,
work,
read your book,
have a moment to yourself
in a beautiful built-in setup
here with two seating areas
and the lake.
Just because you're up here
working and having
a moment to yourself,
it doesn't mean
you cannot interact
with what's outside.
I'm used to seeing
expensive homes.
But when you come to
a special location
like Lake Tahoe
where the nature
is so beautiful
and so distinct.
And then you have
a special estate like this
that was clearly built
with so much love
and care.
I can see how
the development team
poured their heart
and soul into
putting this estate together.
And it's not just
the construction,
the architecture,
the thoughtfulness
around these windows,
the placements
of these features
and how they were adamant
about having
these craftsmen
elements
throughout the home
exposed
as part of
the experience
and the visual aesthetic.
It really speaks to you.
And house
does a very good job
presenting itself.
It's humble
in its own way,
especially considering
its scale.
But at the same time
it has a lot of warmth,
it has a lot of functionality
and the grounds
are simply breathtaking.
And having your own beach
that leads to
crystal clear blue waters,
I mean,
this is a rare offering
and I'm so glad
we got a chance
to tour it,
experience it in person
and really share
this experience
with all of you.
It's a special moment.
Alright everyone,
that's it from Lake Tahoe.
I hope you guys
enjoyed this episode.
I love Lake Tahoe.
The scenery,
the lake,
the landscape here
and this property
does such a good job
encompassing
all of these qualities.
It's built really well
and the homeowners care
and how they're maintaining
this property
really shows.
It's in immaculate condition,
lives and breathes so well
and I can't get over
the lake
and the frontage
and the access to the water.
It's been an amazing day.
I wanna give big thanks
to the listing agent
Jenny Fairchild
for making this tour possible
and as always
you can find more information
about this gorgeous home
in the description
of this video.
Make sure to check it out
and also
thank you so much
for watching this video
till the end
and we'll see you
next week.
