Hi friends! Welcome back to my channel and welcome if you're new. My name is Sarah also known as
Laugh Love Langella and in today's video I'm so excited to bring you along to one of my favorite
places to go antique shopping and that is Golden Oldies Antiques. They are located in High Point,
North Carolina and have such a beautifully curated shop. There is also the warehouse and the annex
that are also run by Golden Oldies Antiques so there is no shortage of hunting for some really
special pieces to bring into your space but I'm super excited to bring you guys along. I made a
trip a couple of days ago so I'm going to share some store footage and then I have a really
incredible haul so you want to stay till the end to see what it is I picked up. I know I went for
Spring Market and I had mentioned in that video that they were awaiting a few containers that
got caught up at the port. Those containers have landed guys and there are some incredible finds
so I'm going to stop rambling. Let's head out to Golden Oldies. All right friends I am so excited
to bring you along here once again to my favorite spot for antique shopping and the hunt begins
outside. Lots of amazing garden pieces that can be a great addition to your space and as soon as you
walk in you are just hit right in the face with some character and incredible finds. If you love
hunting for vintage and antique books there is never a shortage here. So many amazing pieces
that tell a story and add character in a space. This wooden mirror has caught my eye the past
couple visits that I have made and it is such a stunner. Spotted one of the hanging iron stirrups
that I have from them. This carved wooden display case was so stunning and they always have a really
great selection of these wooden dough bowls. These would be really great on a coffee table or a larger
console table. Use some filler, have it be a catchall. You can also use it to corral things
on a kitchen island if you wanted to. Some unique candle holders and I loved these wooden risers
with the metal bracing detail on them. That's a great way to add some different texture in a space.
If you love a coastal look without screaming beach, these pots were so incredible. The texture
on them was stunning. I did see a lot of these soapstone trays. I have both the plain version
and the trivet version. This is great to rest a candle on. I loved this feathered look pot.
I ended up not grabbing it and it wasn't on purpose. I honestly forgot because I was surrounded
by so many incredible items. It was a lot to take in. This cast iron footed vessel would look so cute
as an herb little planter on a windowsill. It's very very heavy and I loved this wooden mirror.
The simple style lines of it just really drew me in.
Now I've mentioned this before but I thought it was worth bringing up again. If you have never been
to Golden Oldies, there is so much to take in. I highly recommend walking two different routes
throughout the store. So go one way then go the other but also don't just look at the objects that
are on things, look at what they're sitting on because they have the most incredible furniture
pieces. If you need a statement cabinet moment, this one here is so incredibly gorgeous. I loved
this trunk as well. This could easily work as a coffee table too. I wish I had a place for it in
my house because that would have come home with me. It was so stunning. And this soapstone tray
with the holes, it has the history of being a cooking dish but I actually styled mine as a
candle holder. I used that fill-in candle sand. That was not my idea. My friend Tiffany, the
mezza home at Instagram, did that and I thought it was so great. So not only does Golden Oldies
have some really great smaller decorative elements if you are looking for something
renter-friendly but still want to bring in those beautiful characterized pieces, they also have
some really great architectural elements as well. There were some wooden awnings that would look
so incredible over a range in a kitchen if you could work that with your hood ventilation.
That can be such a statement moment in an area but they have different stools, benches, tables,
desks, you name it. I have one of their chests. I use it as a side table in my living room. It
actually houses all of our board games as well so it's functional while also being a really stunning
piece. Just wanted to say a quick thank you all so much for tuning into my channel today.
If you are new here, I would love it if you would subscribe and join my YouTube family
and give this video a thumbs up if this is something you would love to see more of
from me in the future. By no means is there going to be a shortage of Golden Oldies videos.
I highly recommend if you are even within a three hour radius of their location, it is by far
worth it to make the visit and just hunt for some goodies. There is no shortage of amazing
finds here. If you have never shopped with them before, some items don't have prices on them.
You can just ask anybody what they are. They are more than happy to help. If you are not local,
they do ship. I will have their information in the video description. If there's anything you
see from today's video in the shopping portion or in my haul, you can send them a screenshot
and let them know that you would like to have it shipped to you and they will do their very best
to make all of that happen. They were able to get more of these scalloped marble dishes. I have a
couple of these from years past from them. I put my garlic in it. I also have one in my bathroom
as a catch-all for rings. These wooden vases, I actually have two from them and I love them. It's
just a really easy way to add some texture. But now we're gonna head upstairs because there is
even more waiting for us to see. Upstairs they tend to have a lot of larger furniture pieces.
They do downstairs as well. There's a good mix throughout the store. Lots of trunks like I had
mentioned, some statement pieces, but you also, like I said before, you need to look at what things are
sitting on. You also need to look up because there are just so many incredible pieces. I love this
cabinet with the fluted little bottom on it. It would be a really great side table slash nightstand.
I had to send my husband a separate video for this table right here, the two-tone one.
If you need like a higher rise console table, that would be such an incredible moment. But now we're
gonna head back downstairs through the second staircase. They house a lot of the mirrors
heading down this way. Sometimes you'll see baskets. Stock is always changing. They're always
getting new things in. After I filmed this, they had received another container, so there's even
more goodies than what I'm sharing today that showed up. I just, I'm always gobsmacked. I lose
my words when I come here because there are just so many incredible pieces. I loved these cream
mustard jars. These would be great to add into a kitchen or a pantry. You can even put them in a
An easy way to add character in your kitchen, whether you rent or own, is with wooden cutting
boards. You can go round, rectangular. They had so many different ones and very large ones as well.
So if you have a blank wall in your dining space and you need something to fill it, but you're not
quite ready to commit to some large art piece, you could do a cutting board little gallery situation.
I have such a weakness for brass containers. It took everything in me to refrain from
bringing one of these home. I have quite a few already from them, so that is why.
I loved this horse head. He was so incredibly heavy, but I finally made another trip back to
the annex that is also from Golden Oldies, where there is another overage of antique and vintage
finds to see. These doors were previously at Golden Oldies main location and stole my heart
the first time I saw them. I wish I had a bigger house because I dream about those doors. The T-Rex
was also at Golden Oldies last time, now has made a little pit stop at the annex, but so much more
on the incredible finds. It's so overwhelming. I have to take multiple laps. I saw this display case,
the darker wooden one, and that one did come home with me.
So stay tuned. You do not want to miss the haul. It is going to be worth it.
All right friends, now we are back and we've got some goodies. So we're going to start off with
some smalls that I picked up. You can never go wrong with a wooden cutting board. These are just
really great and an easy way of layering in within your home kitchen. You can hang it on the wall,
layer it with some coffee table books or cooking books. I just love them. So grabbed this round one
and I will say Golden Oldies, while it is a destination spot and it should absolutely be
on your wish list to go and visit, they do ship. So if there's ever anything that you guys see that
I share in a video and you would like to get it yourself, send a screenshot to them. I will have
their information in the video description for you and they will make that happen. They do also
have an Etsy shop where some pieces are listed, not every single thing. I will also have that
for you guys. So if you are not close to High Point, North Carolina, you can still get your
hands on some really special pieces from Golden Oldies. But breadboards you can never go wrong
with. This is such an easy way of adding character in your home, whether you're renting or you have
your purchased home. So always be on the lookout for a good breadboard. They also have a ton,
a ton of books. And this is a really great little way of adding some height, some visual interest
in the space, obviously for some gorgeous built-ins like I have. So they have some really,
really great ones as well if you have the time to sift through. So we have a couple of different
ones here, a black one and a brown one. But I'm excited to bring all these pieces and I,
I definitely am very particular about what's coming into my home. I'm trying to find those
really special pieces that speak to me and this trip was a really good trip. And then the last
more so small piece is this lidded canister. And this is such a fun, it's technically a mustard jar
and they do have these in the shop. They had a ton of them actually when I went.
This is great for lettering in your kitchen. You could also put it in your bathroom,
put some Q-tips in there. It's just a nice little catch-all piece. And I just love the
cream tone of it. So definitely grab one of these if you would like to add a little bit into
your space. But now we're going to get into some of the bigger pieces. And like I said,
they had a couple of containers get caught up at port before spring market. So some of those
really, really cool pieces. Let's be real. They all are. They landed after the busyness of spring
market. So you get to pick some really, really great pieces. So most of my footage was at their
regular golden oldies shop. And then at the very end, I stopped by the annex. I had not been there
since opening week, which was spring two years ago. So it's been long overdue that I went and
there were even more things and I just couldn't help myself. So I did get one of these baskets.
It has the wooden bottom on it. I actually got one of the smaller ones. They had some that were
absolutely huge. And my plan for this is to go on top of my secretary desk. I have a different
basket up there presently that I'm planning to put into our pantry when we redo that because
it has a lid on it. So I needed something to replace it. I like the basket because of the
visual interest and texture that it adds. And I like that this one is a little bit lighter,
so it'll contrast it really well. But this was such a pretty piece and I just couldn't
say no to it. Next up, I grabbed this smaller stool. I thought that this would be a great addition
next to my built-ins. I have a small little corner on the outer part of it. This would be great as a
plant stand as well. You could put a vase on it with some florals. Just a really great layering
piece if you have an empty space or a little alcove that needs something. So I got this one.
I really liked the wider leg base and the smaller top on it. And then we're getting into some of the
bigger pieces. So I'm gonna have to back up a little bit. So the first one we've got here is
this wooden mirror. There's no good way for me to reflect this without showing all of the messiness
in my house. But it's got a really gorgeous thick frame on it and it's a great size too.
I have no idea where this is going but I just liked it so much. I felt like it just had to
come home and I would figure it out later. So this is the first bigger piece. Then I picked up
two of these wooden crates. These are also going to go in my pantry. I have some higher shelves
that are going to go in there because we have nine foot ceilings. And I am absolutely going
to maximize the fact that I have nine foot ceilings. And for things like the extra spices
and stuff that you don't need to grab it every day and you also don't want to look at it,
crates are perfect for that. So I actually found two that are nearly identical in size,
color, everything. And so I just had to have them. But I love that it has a little metal
detailing on it as well. I hope the camera's picking it up. And it's that like brushed black
so the wood is coming through. I thought that these were just so cool. My husband loved them
as well. So we grabbed two of these. This next piece is super cool. It is a display case. So
it actually opens up here. You can put different things in it. This is another one. I don't know
where it's going. But I caught eyes with it and knew that it was going to absolutely haunt my
dreams that I did not pick this up. The wood color is just so perfect. It's in really great
condition as well. And it technically fits on the bottom of my built-ins. So we can definitely have
a fun styling moment with this. It was a no-brainer that this was going to come home with me as well.
And the very last piece is by no means the least. I am always on the hunt for different
vintage art. I just really, really love the character. It immediately brings in a space.
And finding large art can be a little easy sometimes. But finding good large art is a
whole other thing. This one's giant. But I sent a picture to my husband and he was like,
absolutely yes, grab that. So we have this incredibly large nautical scene.
There is a repair that needs to happen over here. However, that is part of the age
and character and patina of this piece. But do you see how big this is?
This is going to go in our guest room slash office. It could go above the bed because we
have nine foot ceilings. We have the space for it. Or it could go above the dresser.
Not entirely sure. It's going somewhere though because it is incredible. It's got this gorgeous
linen mat on it. The carved wood details of the frame. And I love the moodiness
of the actual painting. So I thought this was too incredible to pass up and leave it. And I'm super
excited to bring it into our home. So that is going to wrap up today's video, friends. I sure
hope you enjoyed coming along with me and shopping at Golden Oldies Antiques again. You know that
this is one of my absolute favorite places to visit. And it's a must have if you've never gone
and you are going to be in the general area. Please put it on your list of places to stop by.
It is so incredible. I love it there. Everyone's so incredibly friendly. Let them know that I sent
you as well. But I would love to know what your favorite piece was that I shared in today's video.
I don't know what mine is. I think that they are all so unique and special and have different jobs
within our house. And so I'm excited to actually go about and put them where I want them to go.
But again, I will have their Etsy shop link down below as well as the details. If there's anything
that you saw in the shop with me portion that you would love to have in your own space, let them
know. They are happy to ship. But as always, thank you so much for hanging out with me here today,
friends, and I will see you in my next video. Bye.
