Welcome back to my channel! In this video, I share a complete plein air oil painting demonstration on canvas, capturing the lush, green landscape under a heavy, dramatic sky.

Plein air painting always comes with unexpected challenges from nature. While working on this impressionistic landscape, a sudden gust of wind caught my canvas and blew it directly onto me! The wet paint left its colorful imprint all over my shirt, and the ensuing wind and rain forced me to pause painting for nearly an hour. But as the storm passed, it left behind the most beautiful, fresh atmosphere—which I poured directly onto the canvas.

In this tutorial, you will see my step-by-step process of using thick, expressive oil paint strokes to bring out the texture of the fields, the haystacks, and the rolling clouds.
