Video Summary
AI GeneratedA car enthusiast experiences a devastating engine fire in his \"OG\" car, a vehicle he has owned for 11 years. Despite the help of several Good Samaritans with fire extinguishers, the car suffered significant damage. The owner reflects on the emotional attachment to the vehicle and discusses the uncertainty of insurance claims and potential rebuilding.
Oh gosh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
It's literally, I'm literally shaking so bad right now.
The OG is dead.
Are you kidding me?
It's literally gone.
Oh my gosh, guys.
The guy, Arto, the OG.
Oh, come on, dude.
Thank you so much.
Come on.
Oh my gosh.
Legend out of nowhere.
Oh, we got another one.
Dude.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, dude.
Thank you.
Dude, this is insane.
Oh my, I'm fine.
I'm just devastated.
Oh my gosh, dude.
Thank you.
I don't know.
The car just died on me and it just started smoking.
I mean, it's gotta be some kind of fuel leak.
No, thank you for everything.
I'm trying not to cry right now.
This is OG.
Oh my gosh.
It's gone, guys.
I mean, it's not gone, but like.
Well, guys, that is, and of course, they can't park there.
Sorry, bro.
Just laughing as they do.
All right, guys.
James just called me in the car.
The guy, Arto's on fire.
Oh my gosh.
Okay.
He says he's like four minutes from the house.
Oh my gosh.
Obviously it's pretty much all out, but they're going to
give it the full walk around and make sure I've heard.
Now you don't want to breathe that stuff.
We were all up in there breathing to everybody.
We had like five people run over with fire extinguishers.
Like everybody.
Yeah.
I think it's probably too soon to say for sure, but there it
started to smell a little bit like fuel.
We're only about, I don't know, three to five minutes from the house.
So I was like, okay.
Garrett is usually run pretty rich.
It'd probably be totally fine, but I'm not the case.
This is why we should have a fire extinguisher in this car all the time.
I even thought about it too, because it started smoking.
I took your Coke zero.
I tried.
Then I took the Ferrari cover to try to suffocate it.
But no, because the fire was like, I think I had a fuel leak because
it was coming from right there.
And you can see a bunch of fuel underneath it.
What was that?
Do you have your own truck or you want us to tell him?
I do have a truck and a trailer.
Can you hook up the trailer though?
All right.
Well, Sophie is going to run and try to hook up the trailer.
We're going to try to get this baby home.
It's still smoldering a little bit right in there.
Obviously my first thought is, can we save it?
It's the OG, like this is the original car.
We've had this car for 11 years.
Can we save the guy?
This stream right here represents all the tears I'm shedding deep
inside my head right now.
Oh, the poor car.
Sophie is going to go try to get the trailer hooked up with
the help from my neighbor.
And we're trying to tow this baby home.
We're so close right now.
Poor car.
I don't know, guys.
I don't know what's going to happen.
We're going to try to bring him back to life.
I don't know if it's going to be possible.
I have no idea.
I think a fuel leak must've caused it, but thank goodness for all the
good Samaritans with all those fire extinguishers, saving the day.
All right, we got James with the trailer.
The guy already is.
So let's see if he can find his way to maneuver it over there.
I'm going to close your eyes because that stuff burns so bad.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate everything.
Thank you.
I guess it's been about 24 hours since yesterday and it still
kind of feels like a fever dream.
I have such a range of emotions.
I'm so grateful to the lady who pulled up right behind me, right
when the car went up in flames.
She called 911, got the police and the firefighters there, obviously
to the five or six guys who came kind of from every single direction
with fire extinguishers, saved the car.
I didn't have a fire extinguisher with me.
I'm an idiot.
I should have had a fire extinguisher with me.
We joke about it all the time and I didn't have one with me.
And if you've ever had a car catch fire, you know what a helpless feeling it is.
You just, you don't know what to do.
Your brain is moving a million miles a second.
I had, I picked up lunch for Sophia.
I had her Coke Zero.
I attempted to douse the fire, obviously.
And then I grabbed the car cover and you're trying to suffocate.
And I know I look like an idiot and I already know all the people that are
going to be making fun of me for how I acted.
But until you're standing where I was standing and your, your baby, the car
that you've built everything on is engulfed in flames, then you can judge me.
I've had a lot of people reach out to me and thank you for reaching out to me.
I've had a lot of people make fun of me and you know, it's sad.
It's a, this car means a lot to me.
And I realized at the end of the day, it's just a car, right?
It's just a car.
At the end of the day, I'm totally fine.
Everyone's totally fine.
Car, can it be rebuilt?
I don't know.
I don't know if it can.
What caused it?
I have no idea what's going to happen with insurance.
I have no idea.
I've had this car for 11 years and I have fought.
I have fought so hard trying to keep this car and it just seems like
it's one thing after another.
This piece right here got so melted.
You can actually just pop it right off.
So you can see this thing is just charred through and through a little bit of
research.
I determined there is a, the power steering pump is right down in there.
There's power steering fluid that was leaking out all night.
You can see the puddles everywhere where it was leaking out.
I don't know if there was a fuel leak as well.
I really don't know.
I mean, it's hard.
Somebody probably knows.
It's probably a pretty common thing based on the number of fires on first
thing guard.
As I saw coming from the driver's side intake, there's gotta be something in
here.
I don't know if it was a fuel line issue.
Obviously this car has been through a lot.
Please do not reach out to anybody who has worked on this car.
They're, they're not, they're not the cause.
Okay.
They're not the cause.
Don't reach out to anybody.
It is what it is.
It's a V 10.
It got hot.
Something happened and the car's toast.
Um, obviously I'm going to reach out to my insurance.
Today's Sunday.
The fire was yesterday.
Tomorrow.
I'm going to reach out to insurance and kind of figure out what the next steps
really are.
I don't, I don't really know.
Um, I've heard usually fire cars are kind of generally just a full write off.
Uh, this car obviously means a lot to me.
So do I file insurance claim?
I don't know.
Do I try to rebuild it?
I don't know.
Is it rebuildable?
Probably this car already had a lot of issues beforehand.
It's got that built motor.
Uh, I don't know.
Obviously like I'm grateful.
I'm okay.
But it's, it was scary.
It was really scary watching your car go up in flames.
Like I said, the guys who came out of nowhere with those extinguishers, if
you're watching this video, I'd love to have you guys reach out to me.
I want, I want to show some form of gratitude to you guys.
Uh, you guys came in with no fear.
Literally risked your life and without hesitation saved my car.
Um, so yeah, to the individuals that did that, thank you so much.
I can't believe I didn't have a fire extinguisher, but, uh, hopefully it's,
uh, a lesson learned.
Um, you know, if anybody watching this video, if you have a high performance
car or any car, really, uh, you don't carry a fire extinguisher with you.
I guess I really don't know what to film or what to say.
I really don't even feel like filming right now.
I'm going to talk to insurance tomorrow, obviously in these situations, you know,
if the car is a total loss, they'll pay me a lump sum and you know, the car is
insured, which I'm, I'm grateful for.
And sometimes the insurance company allows you to buy the car back.
Other times the car will go off to copart or another auction site, and then you
have an opportunity to purchase it thereafter.
It just kind of depends on what the insurance company, assuming
they will sell it back to me.
They might not even say it's a total loss.
I'm pretty sure they probably will.
Most likely these cars have gone up in value.
Getting parts is very difficult.
Timeline to fix this car.
I don't really know exactly what that is.
So I think my plan is to talk to them, figure it out.
It's possible.
I won't even file an insurance claim and I'll just pay out of
pocket to try to fix the car.
Uh, hopefully best case scenario, they pay out and then I can buy the
car back at a predetermined price.
But like I said, we don't know until we talk to them.
So the poor car, this car holds such a special place in my heart.
And I know that sounds kind of sort of dumb, but I just have
so many memories with this car.
And I was a kid when I bought this car.
I had no business buying this car.
I was working for Nick at the time, making not a whole lot of money, had
this idea for this YouTube channel, kind of took a chance on it, risked it all.
It worked out.
Car's been through a lot of other trials and tribulations.
I've been fighting to keep this car because it means so much to me.
And, you know, I think a lot of car guys can relate to that cars for whatever
reason, it's just a representation of so many memories and stories and
triumph that I've had in my life.
And that's what this car kind of sort of represents.
I've put 40 odd thousand miles on this car.
And, uh, yeah, it's just sad to, to see it in this situation.
So I guess I'll keep you guys posted, but today's video is over.
Here we go.
Wow.
My new Lamborghini Garrett, 2006, one owner, 9,000 miles.
Wow.
Excited, James.
Look at that face.
Wild.
This is so wild.
