The only way you can negotiate with these people is through strength,
and the only strength is military strength. And that's what we've done. We're going to hit them
very hard tonight. We're going to hit them very hard tomorrow night. We're going to hit them very
hard the night after. And then next week, it gets really bad for them because next week comes the
power plants. Next week comes the bridges. We're going to knock out all their power plants. We're
going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.
President Trump with those comments to Fox News before the US followed through with
massive new strikes against Iran. CENTCOM revealing this morning's rare daytime strikes
targeted Iranian coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage sites to degrade Iran's
capability to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This is Axios reports that Trump held a
meeting in the Situation Room yesterday following his interview with Fox News.
Axios' sources said that the meeting was, quote, to discuss a massive offensive in Iran
that will be wider in scope than the current strikes around the Strait of Hormuz,
and that Trump appears willing to escalate the war to cause enough damage that the Iranian regime
will open the Strait of Hormuz and accept Trump's nuclear demands. And with that,
we go to senior correspondent Mike Tobin live in Tel Aviv with the latest. Mike.
And Kayleigh, this rare round of daytime airstrikes has concluded and follows a fourth
round of overnight strikes in Iran. U.S. Central Command says the targets have been missile and
drone sites, naval capabilities, coastal defense sites. Most of the targets are on the coast,
and the U.S. narrative is that they're preventing Iran from menacing commercial shipping. This
follows seven commercial ships that have been struck while crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
The commander of CENTCOM says nearly a dozen mariners are missing, killed or wounded because
of Iranian strikes. And he added U.S. forces are holding Iran accountable for unwarranted
aggression that continues to endanger innocent lives. President Trump is not ruling out ground
forces. Are you ruling out a ground campaign in a limited capacity? I don't want to say that
either, but I would say no, if I if I thought it was appropriate. Sometimes you need a ground
campaign, but we have other people that will do the ground campaign for us. But we already hit
As far as taking it is concerned, if we degrade them far enough and deep enough back,
I would do that. Iran has responded by firing at its neighbors. We've got remarkable video of an
Iranian Shaheed drone crashing down on a warehouse and some civilian structures inside of Kuwait.
Now, there is an historic development that has been overshadowed by everything that's
happening in Iran, and that is the fact that Israel and Lebanon have been negotiating. They
is establishing these zones in southern Lebanon from which Israel could withdraw. And the idea
is that the Lebanese armed forces or the Lebanese army would backfill where the Israeli defense
force has been with the idea that they would prevent Hezbollah from showing up in those zones
and firing at Israel. Kayleigh, guys, back to you. Mike, thank you. Hey, everyone. I'm Emily
