Yeah!
Woo!
So hard!
Let's go boys!
So hard!
Woo!
Big lead!
I wonder how that's going to pan out
because aren't they supposed to go this way?
You got this, let's go!
Ah!
Go, go, go!
At the same time.
Let's go!
Oh my god!
Mike is f***ing dying!
Nice!
Go, go, go!
Ah!
The camera man never dies
before your phone dies.
Woo!
That's my man!
And...
Woo!
Talk to me about that race.
Oh my god, it feels so good.
Winner of the World Championship, my first win.
I proved to everyone that I know what I can do.
What I rode was so good.
My riding was unbelievable.
I had some good lines.
I knew I could gain on both guys.
They were making a few mistakes and I could
gain back on them.
But yeah, it's so good.
I can't thank everybody enough.
It's been amazing, thank you.
Talk to me about those last couple of laps.
Mid-race, you had such a strong lead
and it almost looked like the second to last lap
you were getting tired.
I saw you making some mistakes
when Tristan put a good little gap on you.
How did you get the speed to get in?
It was just like a track
where it was so easy
to make a mistake with all the rocks.
But I sort of started getting
that really hard climb pretty good.
I nearly got it well.
I got it pretty straight for two goes
and I think that put me back
in touch with Tristan.
The last lap, I passed him back on the same hill
and then I probably pulled
a minute on him into Kingslayer
and then he actually passed me
back on Kingslayer and then I did it
naturally 20 meters from the finish.
It was a crazy battle with
Manny and Tristan, but it feels so good.
How did that feel when he taps you right here
and you thought you had him
or did you think you were done?
I knew by the finish I thought I'm done
but I had to push on.
The track I think just made for
good racing and us three were just going
a similar speed and that one
zigzag hill we kind of all just
were, it was hard to get it
consistently and those two for the most
part were going back and forth and I was just chilling
in the background and then with
two laps to go it all of a sudden seemed like
they both just slowed down
and I was feeling good and I'm like okay well this is it
and that's when I got into the lead
and then I made a little mistake
Mitch got me back, I got him back again
and then we got to that final hill
like that zigzag one
and I had such a good run
and I think it was a Sherco guy that just went right
in front of me so I missed the last
zigzag out so I had to push it
and Mitch also had a really
good run, he got out it really nice
probably put 30 seconds on me
and then I just
I knew at the top of this zigzag
or Kings layer
there's some passing opportunities
and I caught Mitch
maybe one minute from the top
and I was following him, made a pass
like 100 feet and then I'm like
there's a bunch of lines I didn't know
which one to get in
yeah
like 100 feet from the top
I got him
and then you come into where there's a bunch of lines
and we only ever ride this once a year
so you don't really know and it's always a bit different
and I just went a little too wide
and he just cut the corner a bit
pretty much what I did to him
and I just didn't anticipate that
I could have done that but it could have been risky
and I went with the save line
and he just got me
bit of a bummer but
like you said in your Instagram post
I'm just going to dungy it from here on out
second every race
