Kremlin propaganda mouthpiece Vladimir Solovyov has spoken of "betrayal" and "conspiracy" within Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's inner circle following the media's publication of the personal correspondence of Russian journalist and former presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak. Commenting on these correspondence on the propaganda program "Sunday Evening," Solovyov effectively accused Sobchak and her mother, Senator Lyudmila Narusova, of collaborating with political opponents of the Kremlin regime. Although he didn't mention Sobchak by name, the content of his remarks indicated that he was specifically referring to her and Narusova, according to "Agency . " The propagandist's remarks came in the context of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's recent statement on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara that Kyiv's desire to end the war is supported not only by its global partners but also by Putin's inner circle. "How do they (the Ukrainian side – ed.) know? Because it turned out that an Israeli journalist has close ties to members of Zelenskyy's inner circle?" the propagandist asked, alluding to the leaked messages about alleged contacts between Sobchak and former head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak. The propagandist was outraged by the fact that the correspondence, as he claims, shows that Narusova acted in the interests of Alexei Navalny's supporters and "foreign agents." At the end of his speech, Solovyov wondered whether such contacts indicate the presence of a "conspiracy" in Putin's inner circle. "What other information did they collect and transmit? About which other leaders of our country? What other orders did they carry out? And from whom did they receive them? What kind of formulation is this? 'There is someone in the inner circle.' So, is this a conspiracy?" the propagandist asked.
As previously reported, materials purported to be fragments of Sobchak's personal correspondence were published online this week . The publications, in particular, include alleged conversations with Sergei Titov, editor-in-chief of "Ostorozhno Novosti," media manager Kristina Potupchik, Polina Deripaska, the Kremlin's chief censor, Vladimir Tabak, and others. On July 8, the hacker group Black8Mirror gained access to Sobchak's chats. They hacked Sobchak's Telegram channel and published a post with excerpts from her chats. She quickly regained access to the account and deleted the post, calling it fake. Judging by the correspondence, Tabak was Sobchak's handler from the Russian Presidential Administration. A video was even published of the two dancing together. In the video, the journalist utters a key phrase: "In The Hague, we'll stand against the wall together." In their correspondence, Sobchak reassures Tabak that she is honoring all agreements. She also criticizes another pro-government website, Ridovka, noting that it is read by "backward segments of the population." Judging by the leaked correspondence, Sobchak was playing a double game, namely, assisting the team of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Journalist Alexander Nevzorov commented on the scandal. "What's so surprising about this? Ksenia is as much a propagandist as Simonyan or Solovyov. But her job is the most complex and delicate: the intelligentsia... The intelligentsia is imbued with a false sense of 'ambiguity,' and then completely embraces the banner of Putinism. She's allowed to make faces about handbags and garbage dumps, but on sensitive issues for the regime, Ksenia lies absolutely everything," Nevzorov wrote . He drew attention to Sobchak's comment on the Russian army's latest bloody shelling of Kyiv. The journalist wrote that it was supposedly a "response to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian infrastructure." She also repeated the Defense Ministry's lie that the Russian Armed Forces' targets were military.
