Trump ditches Hormuz fee plan in favour of Gulf investment deals - #NewVM2 #Dailyworldnews

US President Donald Trump has announced a reversal of plans to impose a 20 per cent tariff on cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz, saying the Gulf states will instead pursue investment and trade deals with the United States.

“I was called by different people, different countries, kings and emirs, and all of the people … they said we’d love to do it a different way. We’d love to invest in the United States,” Mr Trump said.

“We [Gulf states] would like to invest tremendously in the United States as opposed to charging fees.”
