A Day in Chunkland | Coexisting with Wildlife

Welcome to Chunkland, where nature comes first and every day brings a new adventure.

I’m Gardener Jeff, and I believe in one simple idea:

“We all coexist. This is their land too. I just put a garden on it.”

That’s the heart of everything you’ll find here.

Chunkland is home to Chunk, our friendly male groundhog, and his girlfriend Nibbles, along with an ever-growing cast of wild visitors. You’ll meet Pesty the squirrel, Possie the opossum, Skinkerbelle the skunk, songbirds, rabbits, deer, and countless other backyard neighbors who remind us that we’re sharing this world together.

These are real moments with real wildlife, captured one day at a time as nature unfolds. Every visit is different, every season tells a new story, and every animal has its own personality.

My hope is that Chunkland inspires children and adults alike to slow down, appreciate nature, and realize that even the smallest acts of kindness toward wildlife can make a difference.

This series is also inspired by the message behind my upcoming Chunk children’s book, written by Gardener Jeff and beautifully illustrated by Tara Bach. Together, we’re creating a story that celebrates friendship, compassion, curiosity, and the importance of living alongside the animals that call our neighborhoods home.
