AI GeneratedThe O-Sight K is a budget-friendly, durable open-emitter red dot sight featuring a 6 MOA green dot. Designed for concealed carry, it offers a compact form factor, high brightness versatility, and a lifetime warranty, making it a high-value option for self-defense.
The O-Site K, Green Dot, 6 MOA.
Let's check it out.
The O-Site Red Dot has become
one of the most popular red dot sites,
not just because of the price, but because of the quality.
And it has a lifetime warranty.
And there's a number of different options
that they have out there.
This is the K model.
It's the traditional open emitter site.
And this is a 6 MOA green dot.
6 MOA is excellent for that up close and personal.
It's large, it's in charge, you bring it up,
you can find it very easily.
And so that 6 MOA dot is really what it's preferred
for your self-defense concealed carry.
And then with the open emitter, it makes it a little smaller.
Now this is an RMSC footprint,
so it fits right onto any RMSC adapter.
And we have it on this Ruger RXM with the Icarus chassis.
We have been testing O-Sites on this specifically
because we wanted to get consistency.
Now, one of the things about O-Site,
and we've done a lot of different testing on these.
We did a 1500 round test,
and then we've done a lot of torture tests,
and they have really surprised me at how well they hold up.
And as a testimony to O-Site,
they are the number one selling red dot site on Amazon.
These have become very popular, and for good reason.
In fact, my bedside gun has the O-Site SE
that I depend on for those bumps in the night.
Now guys, in full disclosure,
O-Site did send the K GN6 MOA dot for this review,
but it's not gonna change the outcome of what we find.
You get a 10% discount using Sooch00
with the link down below in the description.
And we wanna give O-Site a big thank you
for sending the O-Site K green 6 MOA dot for this review.
All right guys, we have the O-Site K.
It is a 6 MOA dot in green.
They previously made the red dot,
but there is a lot of people that like that green dot,
including myself.
Now, one of the things about the K model,
which it has it right here on the side,
so you can identify it.
It is an open emitter or a reflex style.
And so this is the traditional way.
A lot of guys like it.
A couple of reasons is it's a smaller optic.
And that's probably one of the biggest things.
I mean, when you're putting this
on a small concealed carry handgun,
you want the footprint to be as small as possible.
And so this gives you that option.
And here we have the SE, which honestly is its brother,
but this one is an enclosed emitter.
It is the 6 MOA green dot, SE right here on the side.
It does have the side battery tray.
These batteries have a 68,000 hour battery life.
Now these are 7075 T6 aluminum,
which is the industry standard for premium aluminum.
They are hard anodized finish,
and it does have that matte finish,
which makes it look really nice.
And again, really these two sites are very compatible,
but we're really going to take a look at the K.
Now guys, before we get into a lot of the details,
I want to talk about why you would want this optic.
And first off is the price.
It's 159.99 and you get a 10% discount using suit zero zero.
So it's a budget optic, but that's not enough.
If you're putting an optic on your firearm,
you need to have something you can have confidence in.
And there's a lot of cheap micro red dots out there
that just won't hold up.
Here we have a very strong body, 7075 T6 aluminum.
It has a nice hard anodized finish.
It protects the lens.
It protects the electronics.
The electronics are also sealed inside the sight.
It's one of the things that O-Sight and O-Light do.
And it's one of the reasons why
you can really torture test these,
and they're pretty impervious.
We've done a lot of testing on the O-Sights
and at their request.
And we have frozen them, put them in the water.
We've run over them.
We've beat them.
We've done 1500 round torture test on the XC.
And they just hold up well, and they hold zero.
The O-Sight is really something to consider,
not just because it's a budget sight,
but because it really holds up under pressure.
And if you ever need a red dot sight to work,
this is gonna work.
Now there are eight brightness settings.
And with the highest setting, it is daylight bright,
and actually the first two or three.
I mean, it really shows up well.
And then you have two night vision settings.
So you have 10 different modes for the O-Sight.
Also, we have a battery indicator.
So if the sight is shining and it blinks three times,
about once a minute,
you know that you're down below 2.2 volts
and you need to change out your battery.
And guys, that is an upfront battery indicator.
Now, one of the issues that happen
with these reflex open emitters
is that you can get debris and dust
and even water in there that can affect the sight.
And it's one of the reasons why that the closed emitter,
like with the SC model, has become so popular.
But even then, if you get water on the lens,
you've got to wipe that off to keep it really shining.
But in everyday environments,
the reflex sight has proven itself to be great.
Now it's 1.59 inches in length.
It's 0.98 inches in height and eight, nine inches in width.
So just about an inch to an inch,
a little over an inch and a half.
You do have rear sights that are back up.
We have our mounting screws here
and we have our adjustment.
And that's pretty typical for elevation and for windage.
And it actually comes with a small tool
that you can adjust, not only mount the sight,
but also it has a small little flat head.
And that way you can adjust here,
but you can also take out your battery.
And then we just take the tip and you can just pop it out.
I keep these in my range bags.
And these are the CR1620 three volt batteries.
These are common and these are typical
for most of your red dot micro sights.
The positive end goes down and then it just slips right in.
Very easy.
That way you don't have to readjust your point of aim
every time you change your battery.
Now the window is that smaller size.
It is again for concealed carry,
but really with the six MOA dot,
you're able to pick it up pretty quickly.
Now it is parallax free.
And that means that no matter where the dot is on the screen
that is your point of aim.
So it just kind of moves it.
It is multi-layered reflective glass.
And so it's going to allow this
to be able to give a good reflection of the dot.
Now here we're focused in
and that six MOA dot shows up very well.
Again, if you want that more accuracy,
if you want that pinpoint or more distance,
then you want a little bit smaller dot,
but for up close and personal,
the six MOA is really one of the best options.
And the weight is one ounce.
So even on the smallest slides that will accept a red dot,
this is going to work well.
All right, guys, we have the six MOA dot.
We can see it after three minutes, it's going to shut off.
Once it shuts off,
I'm going to see how fast it'll come back on.
Okay, here we have it off.
We're just going to tap.
There it goes.
I mean, it is instantaneous
and that gives you a lot of confidence.
When you pick that up, it comes right on.
All right, guys, here we have the Osight K
mounted on an Ruger RXM and we have an Icarus chassis.
We have one of the Olight PLX weapons lights.
I love these.
This is the way it looks.
It is a direct mount.
It has a low deck again.
So it sets really low and you can co-witness
with your sights without any trouble.
Now you can see that six MOA green dot.
Now it is large in the window.
I mean, it shows up very well,
especially for a self-defense situation,
getting this out really quickly.
It's large.
It really gets your eye straight to it.
And so that's one of the big pluses with the six MOA dot.
If you want really tight accuracy,
you want to go with a little bit of a smaller dot,
but for self-defense, the three MOA dot is really optimal.
Big thank you to Fiocchi for sponsoring our ammo.
All made in the USA.
One of the biggest suppliers of ammunition in the country.
Very consistent, great shooting.
And also we want to give a big thank you to Maglula.
The Lula loader is just awesome
and it loads these mags quick.
All right, guys, we're out with the
Osight K green red dot, six MOA dot.
Man, this thing is almost impossible not to see
when you bring it up.
I mean, it's just got a large dot.
That's what you really want
for more of your concealed carry,
being able to get it out.
Smaller dot for accuracy.
This does co-witness, and yet it has sights on the back.
So if you don't have a rear sight,
you're able to have something
as a reference point if you need it.
We have found that these are excellent.
We have tested the SE.
We've tested the XE.
In fact, 1500 round torture test.
These things are holding up extremely well.
Now we have this on the Ruger slide,
but we have an Icarus chassis.
And I've been doing a lot of testing
on their RMSC versions on this handgun.
So this really is a great test.
But I'm going to tell you guys,
this is the number one selling red dot on Amazon.
And it's not just the price.
It's also the quality,
and they have lifetime warranties on them.
I mean, that dot just comes right up.
And it's nice and large, but not too large.
I mean, it just, as soon as you get it up there,
even though this is a smaller sight,
when you bring it up, that dot's right there,
and it's got that green, which I really like.
And then pairing it with this handgun setup, man,
it's a great option.
Guys, whether it's the SE, which is the enclosed emitter,
or you can go with the RMR cuts,
which has the XR and XE.
One thing about the XE is it has five different reticles,
but it's a larger sight.
Here, with the smaller K and the SE models,
they're small, they're easy for concealed carry,
and really, you need that six MOA dot.
It just gets it out there.
Been very impressed with the O-Sight,
to the point that that's what I have on my bedside firearm.
That dot just appears.
Great option for that traditional red dot sight,
but if you want the enclosed emitter, go with the SE.
Great sights, O-Sight is really doing it right.
Now, it comes in a really well-done box,
which is typical for your O-Sight O-Lite.
And we get a sticker, and you get a card,
read me first, kind of gets you started.
Here we have the O-Sight K, enclosed foam padding.
And then we have this box.
And I'll tell you what, guys, they really do this well.
And it has all these different screws,
and this way, you can mount it
to whatever firearm you need to.
This, in itself, is a gold mine.
If you've ever lost screws for your red dot sight,
it can be such a pain.
And then, of course, we have that adjustment tool,
which is also a bonus.
And we have instructions and a cleaning cloth.
Now, the MSRP on the O-Sight K is $159.99.
On the SE, it's $199.99,
and that has to do with the enclosed emitter.
And you also get 10% off using SOOCH00
with the link down below in the description.
And that's on all the O-Sight sights.
So what are some pros and cons?
First off, we have an open emitter.
It's gonna be light,
it's gonna be a little smaller on your firearm,
and that's one thing about it, it's a little subcompact.
These work extremely well.
Has eight brightness settings,
does have the battery tray with the sights on the back.
And it does have a lifetime warranty, which is a big plus.
One negative is that if you have the reflex sight,
you can get debris and things back here
if you get into a really dynamic environment.
But with the enclosed emitter, it does protect from that.
And really, that's the one big thing just to consider.
Otherwise, in an everyday use,
the O-Sight K is gonna be great.
They have low decks,
so they ride really close to the firearm,
and really with RMSC,
most of your options are gonna be direct mount.
And to be honest, that's what you really want.
It gets it low,
you're gonna be able to utilize those rear sights
if you have to, and it just brings it closer to the slide.
And guys, at first, I was very discouraging to O-Light
to go into the red dot business,
but man, they have hit a home run.
I guess they make great lights,
so why not make great optics?
Now, O-Sight does offer, again,
a number of different RMSC and RMR compatible sights,
a lot of different features.
In fact, we just reviewed the XE,
which has five different reticle settings
and two different, two MOA dot and a six MOA dot.
They are very innovative.
And now, with the K model,
this again goes back to that open emitter.
It makes it smaller on your handgun
and great for concealed carry.
And we wanna give O-Sight a big thank you
for sending the O-Sight K green model,
six MOA dot for this review.
Be strong, be of good courage.
God bless America.
Long live the Republic.
Be strong, be of good courage.
God bless America.
Mir-rah-mir.
While a red dot sight is very important on your handgun,
that it is durable.
Check man, check man.
Peace out, and that's the second episode
of The H-L-L Show.
While a red dot sight is very important on your handgun,
Check, man, check, check.
I'm going to give Ocite a big thank you for sending the K Green Dot fighter pilot flying
over.
Wow.
America.
Be strong, be of good courage.
And one of the things about...
I don't want to say all that.
I'm going to stop there.
Don't use all that.
And guys, while we have found that the Ocite has really held up...
I don't want to do that either.
