"The UK's prolonged period of extreme heat has claimed at least 2,700 deaths, scientists estimate, as the tinder-dry conditions have triggered several wildfires in parts of the country.
A major incident was declared at Tintwistle Moor on the Derbyshire-Greater Manchester border on Sunday evening as a wildfire burned an area the size of 350 football pitches.
With smoke visible for miles, emergency services urged residents and visitors to take immediate precautions by avoiding the area and keeping windows and doors firmly shut.
In Wales, schools were closed, and people were advised to stay indoors as a ""large-scale"" wildfire continued to burn on Conwy Mountain.
On Monday evening, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) stood down its major incident and allowed the residents of 36 properties evacuated in Capelulo to return to their homes.
It comes after another major incident was declared on Sunday after the wildfire broke out near Sychnant Pass on Conwy Mountain. Emergency services are continuing to respond to the blaze.
Meanwhile, the London Fire Brigade was called to a fire in Walthamstow on Sunday evening, which affected one house, multiple gardens and sheds, and a railway embankment."
