David King husband flower Okay, everybody in this discussion I want to have a meaningful conversation about a vision statement or a purpose statement or a statement of belief Um, there are a lot of ways you could define this. We've talked about how purpose is so critical We've talked about discovering our purpose is really a creative process But yet it is us going very far back to the basics If you will of who we are why we're here what we're doing here What our purpose is and what happens next? So as we consider creating a purpose statement or a vision statement mission statement statement of vision or belief However, you want to define that there are some things we need to think about some ideas some concepts. We need to keep in mind Considering the progress We are desired to make and the goals we've discussed It's important to think about what kind of processes and procedures we can implement to facilitate an ongoing improvement and consistent sustainable growth Development of a personal purpose statement can and will yield significant direction and strength not to mention the reminder it can provide Considering appropriate placement in a repeatedly visible location. So I've alluded to this before This is the mission statement for my dental office at Baldwin family smiles We are committed to providing the highest quality dentistry in the most efficient and comfortable way possible for each and every individual patient Utilizing the modern the most modern technology available and being motivated to serve we endeavor to understand Elevate and empower improvement of our patients lives through meaningful oral facial health care education and skillful compassionate delivery of services Our patients and team members are our most valuable ambassadors enabling us to be the sought-after provider in our market So this is a mission statement. That's a purpose statement for our dental office So we're gonna dig a little bit into what that might look like for an individual Okay, although good work Good to work on and to endeavor to improve Constant reliance on memory if I memorize it only can lead to frequent forgetting Making an effort to record and then review. This will be a great assistance in continuing reaffirmation of your individual purpose statement The process of creation can be a challenge though from the first step of getting the boulder to begin to budge To guiding the role of the stone to its desired place to settling it Adjusting it and then focusing it focusing on it periodically and all that it represents this process this creative process should be intentional and exceptionally exclusive So as you're considering what to put in your personal statement of purpose We have to exclude much But we have to include those things that are critical and important And it's important that we don't just rely on memory. I have this posted in multiple places throughout the office This one actually sits right here next to my work computer, which is to the left right here little work computer there That's stuck on the wall again, that's some sticky tack that usually holds it just fine maybe But the purpose of that purpose statement is to define clearly and simply Who we are why we're here what we're doing and what the end result should be in a way that allows us to reaffirm Reconnect and Restrengthen ourselves To why we're here and what our purpose is. I know I'm kind of talking in circles saying the same thing again and again I am a movie watcher for those of you haven't figured this out. I really enjoy good high-quality Movies and one of my favorite movie images not that the movie is my favorite But one of my favorite images within a movie is comes from the movie Warcraft Excuse me, so in the movie Warcraft, it's based on a video game, which I've never played but there are What are they orcs that are coming through a portal to another world And it creates this, you know, terrible tension. There's a bad guy, of course and a battle for survival and a great struggle for good versus evil But in the world where the orcs are going to There is a wizard who is tasked with protecting the world and being the one who can foresee challenges and protect essentially that world from major issues kind of like the image of Gandalf and Saruman at least before he Turned in the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Excuse me Anyway, the image that I am trying to get at is at the top of Medivh the Wizards Tower, there's a tower that he lives in there is a constant inflow of this blue light energy, which essentially is what Heals him and provides him with strength and power and energy and it comes from all over the world and it's the good thoughts and wishes and intentions of everyone who's hoping and Providing energy to Medivh as he Seeks to protect the world they live in. I know it's kind of a cheesy image But if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about It's really cool and that blue light energy all combines the magical energy and he can actually Soak it in So that's the idea here. That's the the metaphor I'd like you to think about when we have who we are Delineated and laid out in a very clear way we can review it Daily weekly monthly, whatever your preferred interval is and it allows us then to revisit our purpose In a very simple way to reconnect us with why we're here and give us that Hopefully that energy that we need to move on because that's in my experience Purpose is what provides us power Personal power.
