____________________
Tornadoes, flooding, earthquakes and landslides, natural disasters are devastating many parts of
China. In southern Guangxi province, over 130,000 people in China have been evacuated due to massive
flooding. Officials say 39 people died in the flooding and nine are missing. However, the real
death toll is likely much higher given the severity of the flooding and the Chinese regime has a
Torrential rain has pushed water levels in more than 300 dams above their maximum capacity.
Multiple dams have also broken, sending floodwaters downstream. A local resident surnamed
Huang told NTD the situation remains very urgent as floodwaters have not receded. She said the
water level is over nine feet. Traffic has been halted and many residents are still waiting to
receive aid. We have distorted her voice to protect her identity. Some places are seeing
power, internet and water outages. Residents are also having trouble contacting their family members.
Tornadoes that ripped through Hubei province have impacted over 10,000 people and killed 11
according to state media. The actual death toll is likely much higher. The twister was so powerful
that it pulled a man from his 12th floor apartment. A local resident told Chinese media
he witnessed twisters lifting his parents more than 300 feet into the air. They later fell to
their deaths. The powerful tornadoes have damaged nearly 5,000 homes. In northern Gansu, landslides
have buried more than 30 people alive. In southwestern China, Sichuan province was struck
with the strongest reaching magnitude 5.0. Meanwhile, China and Taiwan are bracing for
another powerful typhoon called Bavi. It's expected to make landfall in eastern China's
Fujian province on Saturday. As China continues to grapple with the aftermath of these recent
natural disasters, another tragedy has struck. A devastating fire at a shoe factory in southeastern
China has left at least 28 people dead. Video on social media shows terrified workers trapped
on the rooftop as flames and thick smoke swallowed a multi-story building in Quanzhou.
Local officials say more than 200 people were successfully evacuated, but two died in the
hospital and 26 others missing at the scene were later confirmed dead. The cause of the blaze
is still under investigation.
