Easy Garden Jobs For The Weekend | July Gardening Tips

Not sure what you should be doing in the garden this weekend? Let me show you a few things you could be doing.

In this video I'm sharing some simple July gardening jobs that will help keep your garden tidy, healthy, colourful and flowering right through summer. Whether you're new to gardening or just looking for a few jobs to tackle over the weekend, these are all easy, beginner-friendly tasks.

What to sow
July is the perfect time to sow biennial flowers ready for next year's display. If you missed my recent biennial seed sowing video, make sure you have a watch after this one!

What to plant
I also share three fantastic perennials that will provide months of colour and are perfect for beginner gardeners:

Agastache
Echinacea
Gaura

The best part? All three can also be grown from seed, making them brilliant value if you're gardening on a budget.

What to buy
Finally, we head to the garden centre to talk about summer sales! July is one of my favourite times to pick up bargains because many plants are simply looking a little tired after flowering. With a little care, pruning and watering, you can often give them a new lease of life and enjoy them for years to come.
