Throughout the tutorial, she shares a personal update regarding the loss of her childhood pets and discusses her preference for powder products over creams to manage oily skin during the summer heat.
Hi everyone, welcome back. Today I'm going to show you how I achieved this makeup look.
It's been my go-to the last few weeks. I love how it gives kind of a summery,
glowy, bronzy look without it looking greasy or feeling too sticky. It's been really nice
and long-wearing and fairly quick as well. So with that said, let's get started. So I'm going
to start this look off with the Physician's Formula Bronze Booster Sun Tint in the shade
Bronze Tint. I love this stuff. It's a very soft stain so it has great longevity and I love how
thin wearing it is since it is just a tint. It doesn't add anything else but a pinch of color.
I guess before I get too far into it, if my energy seems a little bit lower in today's video and
maybe in some of my upcoming content, we recently had to put two of my pets down. Valentino passed
away a little over a month ago. His back legs gave out due to a tumor on his kidney pressing
against his spine which is obviously just horrific and hard to talk about. I didn't mention or say
anything because it is so painful to talk about and I- this is my job. I don't necessarily feel
like crying on the internet sometimes, you know, but I feel- I don't know. I don't know what I feel
sometimes. And this past week, we had to put our dog Charlie down but she was 19 years old which is
amazing. We were able to have so much time with her. Like, looking back, I made a shared album
of every photo I had and wow what a life she's lived. Like, unreal how many adventures she's
gone on but I found this photo of the day we got her and I'm so baby. I'll put it better on screen
but I'm so little. I'm 10 years old in this photo and I'm 29 now. So, very very lucky. Um, Valentino
was 14 and my beautiful Steve was nine or eight. When I think of my cats, it's a bit harder because
I think they were taken away from us early due to cancer and that's just something that I get so
sad- so sad and angry. Like, so angry. Anyways, I don't want to talk about it any further because
I don't need to cry and if I need to talk to some people, like, I'm very well supported with my
family and my wonderful friends but I'm happy, uh, Steve has his besties and I think
it's a weird feeling to have lost, like, all of my childhood pets. It's a weird- I don't know. I feel
kind of chopped and unke. I guess to bring some light-hearted energy into it. Anyways, let's do
some makeup, shall we? Sorry to bring the vibe down but that's been my life. I'm taking my skin
blur serum concealer in the shade 8N Chiffon and I place that a little bit everywhere because I'm
not going to be using a foundation today. I'm just going to use this concealer to even up some areas
and to correct my under eyes and this shade, you'll notice, is not overly brightening. It's kind of
very close to where my skin tone is at and that's for a purpose. I don't really enjoy- if I'm going
for a more natural, like, sun-kissed makeup look, I think it can look really off with, like, a super,
super bright under eye and I'm trying to use such a minimal amount of concealer and I'm going to
just so I get a very thin wearing base, which is really great for the warmer months and for this
desired effect I'm after today. I prefer kind of a denser brush like this one. This is a MAC
170S because it kind of allows the concealer to not get super sopped up by the brush. It kind of
leaves a lot of the product on the tip of the bristles. I don't know why I keep having to show
you to get my sentences out, but hey, these ones are a little bit more persistent because they're
kind of showing through purple. And I don't really feel like in the mood to color correct right now
and honestly, sometimes I'm okay with some acne scars showing through because I'm like, then my
base looks even more natural. So, for powder, I have been trying to use up the ones I have. This
is a pressed powder from Em Cosmetics. It's the Portrait Mode Refining Setting Powder in the shade
Sheer. I have so many products I've hit pan and then I like put them away because I'm scared of
running out of the product, if that makes sense. If you're like me, let me know. But I think that's
silly. Just use them up before I get too old and then you can't use them. Makes no sense.
So, with this, I'm taking a powder puff to put a concentrated amount right under my eyes just to
make sure that concealer is set in place. And at this time, I'm going to set the center as well.
I'm just throwing down some of my Urban Decay Eye Primer at this moment, too. What I'm after today
is a very summery, glow-like makeup look without it looking sticky or greasy. And I also want it
to be really nice and long-wearing, of course. So, this is kind of better for maybe us with
oilier skin types, but I think it could work for everyone. Because I love the idea of using, like,
a full face of creams, but sometimes with my oily complexion and the summer heat, it just doesn't
always work out for me. Like, it looks great for the first few hours, then it just slips away from
me. So, I'm going to kind of mimic that look, but with powders. And I have been so excited about
this palette here. I'm not huge on face palettes, like, ever, aside from maybe the Kaleidos Face
Trio. I love that one, but it doesn't have a shimmery highlight in it. I don't know if this
is new or just new to me, and I was living under a rock like Patrick the Star, but this is wonderful.
It has a matte powder bronzer and contour, a matte highlight, and this gorgeous sun-kissed blush, and
then these two highlights, which I use the more bronzy one as an eyeshadow and this as a classic
highlight. And the thing I love most about this is I love every single formula in here. I think
there's just two. It's a matte and a highlight, but sometimes with face palettes like these, I'm
like not a huge fan of the finish of the matte or I really despise the highlight because it's
glittery or something of the sorts, but this is phenomenal. So, if you have very similar makeup
tastes to me, I think you would love this. And this is just going to be amazing for summer travels
and getaways and just life. With my Mac 143s brush, I'm taking the bronzer first, and I get a good
amount of that. It's a really nice workable formula, meaning it's like not too pigmented. It just like
goes with the flow, so you can be as precise or haphazard with the application as you want to do
as you wish. As you wish. I need to watch that movie again. I don't know what it is, but I think ever
since I really fell in love with playing Resident Evil and like I'm head over heels in love with
I've been really into blonde men, and I'm not used to that feeling. Look at that. And I just
love sitting here and being able to like build it up to my heart's desire, and my heart is telling
me to go for it today. Then, with that same brush on the edge of the brush right here, I kind of go
into the contour. See this action? And then with that, I kind of aim for the hollows of my cheek,
and I add more and more depth and definition to my cheekbones. And sometimes it's fun to
hit the extra real estate I got up in here, right here, like that. I like to add my highlights before
I go in with blush. Wow, that sounded super robotic. Why did that take so long to get out my
mouth? I like to go in with highlight before blush because I like how it can kind of peek
underneath the blush, if that makes sense. So I'm taking the lighter one on my cheekbones first,
and then I really work it into my cheekbone. I love how this melts right into my concealer
right here. I didn't really set too much with powder right there, but it just looks so nice.
And while I'm working with that, and I'm thinking of it, I'm taking that same highlight shade
on a small brush. This is a Shoto No. 6 from Refr. Just any detail brush would work, and I'm
putting this in my inner corner. This is like a must for me when it comes to a summery vibe. Like,
I don't know, it needs to have a shimmery inner corner. So now, kind of, oh no, I forgot the blush.
Hello? How did I do that? You know the brain's not right if I'm forgetting a blush. Dipping
into this gorgeous one right here, and I'm going right over the areas I placed that Physician's
Formula 1. All your boyfriends heard me say Formula 1, and they're like, hello? Or if you
like Formula 1, I don't know. Goes too fast for me, can't keep track. And I like to kind of carry
this anywhere I can. So kind of the wave technique. So up and down, up and down, like that. Now for
my eyeballs. I'm taking this big ol' brush from Refr. It's a No. 16. I think it's one of their
biggest ones. And I'm taking the bronzer shade first. I'm going to really work this into my
crease. I'm not being very careful here. And sometimes I'll carry whatever's left into the
temple to kind of bridge all the bronze I put over there. So fun to have all of these in one palette,
but of course you can mimic this look if you have just a bunch of single products. You don't need
this palette, but I've just been especially excited about it. It's kind of nice to not have
to think about opening and shutting or gathering all different single things. It's really nice.
I've always loved the idea of a face palette, but I just never found the one yet until this one.
I'm going to take a little extra. I switched my brush. This is a Shodo 00 with that same
bronzer one. And I'm just going to put this on my outer corner.
Now with my fingertip, I'm going to take the bronzier shimmer. Looks like this. I'll show you.
Here's the more champagne one. So I'm taking the more golden one first. Sometimes I'll just go in
with this on the lid, but if I want an extra little glare, I'll go in with the lighter one
right in the center to really make it pop. Because it's a highlight, it's not going to be like the
most satin eyeshadow you've ever seen. That's why I enjoy going in with highlights on the eyes,
because it just gives like a soft sheen without too much opacity or glimmer. Sometimes it can just
mimic like a healthy, oily eyelid. The irony of me putting a eyeshadow primer to stop my natural
oils, but then adding a shimmer product that kind of mimics oil. Why do we do anything we do,
you know? Like blush. Cover the redness to add the redness. But in the redness color I like.
Oh no. Why am I getting hives again, you guys? Right there. For what? Just suddenly gets allergic
to stuff at 29? Okay. Anyways, I'm going to take the bronzer once again underneath of my eyeball.
And this is a shoto 02 from refer, so a smaller blending brush. I know my skin is a little
sensitive. I've been pushing it with the blush swatching videos. They're just so fun to record,
but maybe I should give my skin a better break, because I think my skin is breaking for real.
And at this point, I'm just going to softly fill in my brows. And I'm also going to put on
my mascara, because I don't feel like looking at my mascara face when I edit today's video.
Some days I can handle it, other days I'm just up not it. I'm just, I'm not up to it. Yeah,
so please enjoy the puppy and kitten intermission today. These hives are so rude for making my
makeup look blotchy. Just have to be so patient for them to go away. So now for my lips, I am in
the mood to use a little bit of a lip stain. This is the Huda Beauty lip contour stain in the shade
soft nude. And I'm going to just put a tiny amount on my cupid's bow and on my lower lip.
And now I'm taking the Say lip liner in the shade flirt. And this is such a nice color,
I've been really liking it. It's a bronzier, beigey tone. I'll just put a dab of the Physician's
Formula. And I'll finish off with a lip balm. This is the Rode peptide lip boost in sugar mint.
It's just clear, but it smells nice and minty. I really like this one. It's still really glossy,
but it's more substantial and slightly more tacky than the other version, the skinnier ones. I can
never remember what they're called. The boost in the tint, boost tint, it's not going to stick.
But yeah, I feel like it has better longevity because of that more tacky texture. Well,
here is my makeup look. I'm going to go release my hair and hopefully in that time,
the hive has calmed down and then I'll do a final reveal.
And here's the bronzy, fresh, glowy makeup look. Ren, you're right on time, bubba. Thank you so
much for watching. I really hope you enjoyed today's video. That is all for me today. I really
hope you enjoyed today's video. Thank you for being here for me and supporting me, watching
